It can be scary to open up these dialogues. What if you talk to them and find that they're completely opposite to what you want? But hey - it's best to know now than when another life is there.
And of course - there will be situations you couldn't have thought of. Or when the baby is here and you change your mind. That's okay!
Things I wished we talked deeply about:
- We decided I will do bulk of the childcare and husband will help. We didn't discuss exactly what that would look like. Does that mean we will take turns in the mornings? What does help mean? Later we sat down and drew up what household chores we are in charge of and for how long.
Things I didn't expect:
How little sleep... I would get? There's really nothing one can do about this.
Are there anything you wish you talked about before your kiddo arrived?
They say it takes a village to raise a kid, but what if you don't have a village? In our current world with digital isolation, and me being a bit of an introvert... I relied on internet stories of parents for support. So I'm now giving back in a humorous form!
I want to talk about the ugly side as well as the good. I hope this comic will validate fellow parents, and also give insight to parenting to people who don't have kids! I hope it makes you laugh, but at the same time makes you feel like you're not alone.
It's set in NZ so some medical information and government information may differ. Also it's in UK English!
This is my personal diary of pregnancy and parenthood, so please be aware that every pregnancy is different and may not be same as mine.
