"I'm fine. And I don't need your bed-" Lilith couldn't take it the distance was too vast for her liking, not being able to check Charlotte's head after the thud got to her and she moved faster than Charlotte could process. Suddenly she was standing in front of the shorter woman checking her head for any sign of a need for medical aid. Just as quickly as she was there she was back in her spot a few feet away from Charlotte, her hands behind her back and a slight smile on her face.

"You think it's funny to intrude on someone's personal space?" Charlotte yelled.

"No, but your blushing is pretty cute." Charlotte rolls her eyes, pushing past Lilith to put some space between them.

"Is there anything else you need?" Charlotte asks ignoring Lilith's smug smirk. 

"No. You?" 

"Yeah, I have a few chores I have to get done. Can you show me to your room?" Lilith's face brightened at that, maybe she had changed her mind, "I need to clean your room and make your bed." Never mind.

"Sure, follow me."

Charlotte glanced around the room, it was the size of an average living room though it felt much smaller with the grey walls and cozy decor. "You sure you don't wanna take a nap? I can clean my own room, really." Lilith smiles watching as Charlotte eyes her bed.

"I'm sure. Bathroom?" Lilith points to a closed door opposite the bed earning thanks from Charlotte before the girl walks into the small room. Glancing around her bedroom an idea crossed Lilith's mind as Charlotte's muffled voice came from the bathroom, "Where are your cleaning products?"

"Under the sink." Lilith smiles, deciding to put her plan into motion. She was going to clean her room, for once in her life. All her dirty clothes? Off the floor and in the hamper. Her clean clothes? In her closet hanging or in her dresser. She made her bed the best she could. Even brought out the broom to sweep the bits of her floor that weren't covered with a rug. She was going to vacuum but as soon as Charlotte heard the thing start up the surprise was ruined and the taller girl made her stop. "Why?"

"Because I don't need to get into any more trouble than I already am. She would kill me if she knew you did all this instead of me." Charlotte mumbled the last part thinking the other woman wouldn't hear, she was sorely mistaken.

"She? Who's she?"

"No one," Charlotte rushes turning the vacuum on only to have the other woman turn it right back off.

"Who is she?" Lilith asks emphasizing "she" with a growl. 

"Doesn't matter, now please move."

"Why won't you tell me who she is?"

"Cause I don't want to, okay. Now move." Charlotte yells maneuvering the vacuum around the royal. For the rest of the day, Lilith followed the other woman around trying to help with her chores as best she could without Charlotte noticing, hoping whoever she was wouldn't notice if Charlotte didn't. She'd have to ask Zachary who she was.

"She? Must be Mrs. Petersen. Evil bitch and that's coming from Satan's son," Zachary laughed popping a grape into his mouth.

"Mrs. Petersen?"

"You probably haven't seen her much if at all, she usually stays in the servant's wing torturing everyone who dares to step within 3 feet of her or break one of her rules. Something along the lines of "you are a servant, a servant's job is to do everything for those they serve". Basically, if your ward ever lifts a finger you're fucked. Like no dinner or a lashing kind of shit."

"Lashing?" Lilith asks her eyes flaring at the image of Charlotte bent over with a whip lashing against her skin at the hands of some old bag.

"Lilith, no. Don't go barging in there, it will only make things worse for Charlotte. Trust me whatever you're imagining is nothing compared to what she'll actually do to Charlotte. She isolates these people from their friends. When she says to not speak to someone, they listen out of fear of being ignored, themselves. She abuses without leaving a mark-"

"She won't be able to if she's dead," Lilith growled standing.

"Father will be mad-"

"I don't care. That is my fiancee she is harassing." Lilith hollers as she storms down the halls toward the servant's wing.

"She said yes?"

"Not yet. But she will," Lilith argues pushing through the double doors that open into the servant's wing.

"Charlotte isn't going to like this." That stops Lilith in her tracks causing Zachary to nearly run right into her.

"What do you mean?"

"If she wanted you to do something about I imagine she would have said something like oh I don't know telling you the woman's name." Lilith frowns turning to her brother, seeing that many of the servants have swarmed the entrance of the wing.

"Ma'am, can I get you something?" One of the male maids steps forward gingerly.

"Yes, do you know where Charlotte is?"

"Uh, at this time of the day, most likely in the garden."

"Thank you," Lilith gives the man a warm smile before heading towards the garden.

Charlotte always loved the communal garden, it was always so peaceful. Well until some idiot walked up to her asking her stupid questions.

"Why didn't you tell me your boss was abusive?" Lilith growled, trying her best not to yell at the girl.

"One, we're in hell. Two, it's none of your business," Charlotte muttered her eyes closed with her head leaning back in the sun.

"One it is very much my business. And two you're a demon not the damned. Last and most importantly you are the woman I am courting. No one and I mean no one, not even my father will ever so much as lay a hand on you let alone look at you wrong." Lilith finished with a growl.

Charlotte smiled tilting her head up, "You're cute when you're angry, but as fun, as it is to watch you huff and puff I really have to get back to work." Charlotte says standing, stretching her back immediately wincing at the pain in her back.

"Did she do something to you? Is that why you're in so much pain?" Lilith asks wrenching the back of Charlotte's shirt up enough to look for any signs of abuse. Charlotte turned so fast Lilith couldn't react all she could do was freeze as the taller woman grabbed her by the wrist with a death grip and the look of a killer in her eyes before her eyes softened immediately and her hand released Lilith's wrist.

"I-"

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. I got really worked up, I just don't want anyone hurting you. You don't deserve it-"

"She's not hurting me. Barely even talks to me. Not after the first time she tried to slap me and she landed face-first on the ground with my knee in her back. She doesn't hurt anyone anymore, too afraid of me." Charlotte smiles slightly at the memory. Her smile widened at the look of confusion and amazement on Lilith's face, "I have to get back, see you later. Don't go barging through any doors while I'm gone." Charlotte smiles walking towards the edge of the garden.
