I could care less if one mortal died to accomplish my goal; in fact, I would sacrifice billions to ensure my eternity.
Meeting my questioning gaze, a wide assortment of emotions could be felt as he confidently answered.
"Because I believe he has the potential to bring about positive change for humanity and all of creation. That is why," Adam replied as if it was a fact.
I waved him away, "If that is what you wish, then so be it; bring him to Uztia, and she shall handle the rest."
"As you wish, Lord."
Despite sending him off, Adam remained by my side, his head bowed respectfully.
I gazed down at him, curiosity sparkling in my eyes. Adam had always been the one to challenge my views and give a new perspective to the current ones I held. He raised questions that I either ignored or overlooked.
It made sense; after all, Adam embodies the mortal spirit I once possessed.
"Do you truly believe that my way of ruling over mortals is flawed?" I asked, my voice calm and composed.
Adam hesitated momentarily before responding, "Lord, I can see the reasoning behind your choices and ideals. However, I believe there might be a more compassionate approach to governing them."
Raising my hand, I stopped him before he could continue.
"You have been whispering into man's mind since their creation trillions of years ago, and where has it gotten you? Mortals and even godlings are tempted by desire; that is how they live through their passion for things.'
I changed my voice to mimic one of the mortals Adam loves dearly, this time an elderly woman: "If I want to eat, I eat; if I want to kill, I will kill."
