(No One's Pov)
It was a lonely and dread-ridden ride in the back of the van.

Two Grey Army soldiers in the front, John and Cyprise riding in the back.
The shadow walker and kildrem devil sat in dead silence, heads hanging low.
As soon as the guns started firing, John grabbed Cyprise's arm and dragged her out of the warehouse through a side door. The shadow walker tried to rip her arm out of John's yet his kept his horridly tight grip "Let go, I need to-" "You are my soldier, you follow my orders and that is to stay out of whatever the fuck that is about to turn into" the cult leader stated. The shadow walker tightly closed her eyes as she tried to rip her arm out of his grip again "Cyprise-" "I have to! okay?!" she snapped, eyes immediately becoming glassy as John's brows frowned. "...he'll lift all charges of treason and give full pardon to Haruka if I did as ordered" Cyprise told the cult leader as his face softened a bit "She took the blame for the others- he tortured her for an entire week" she stated, eyes watering a little at the memory of said terna demon being dragged out, visibly beaten "I need to-" John pulled her into a tight hug "No... you don't" he told her...
Neither have talked to each other since that night.
Cyprise's eyes widened in absolute fear and shock as she watched the fallen glimmer and shine of pure light through a small crack of the door "H-he's the-" "Shadow-walk them out, now" John ordered as Cyprise quickly turned her head back to him "But if Grey Leader sees you weren't-" whilst the shadow walker was mid-sentence, John grabbed out a normal knife and stabbed himself in the stomach, just barely missing anything important before pulling the knife out and tossing it to the side. "I got 'injured', you dragged me out... got it?" he stated, now tightly holding his self-inflicted wound as Cyprise hesitantly nodded her head, slowly turned back towards the warehouse... eyes glowing as black smoke consumed her hands...
Yet now, after two weeks... they were back.

The van stopped just outside the Killen base, allowing Cyprise and John to get out of the vehicle before it drove off. The two slowly made their way to the front door, the two killens standing guard of the door immediately letting them in before announcing on the radio that they were back.

Cyprise immediately headed to the infirmary and once reaching said room and looking in, the excitement quickly died as she saw the terna demon still laying in that hospital bed, still unconscious and no signs that she had finally woken up.

Nothing had changed since she left.
"Cyprise!" Inessa exclaimed once turning around and running over to the shadow walker, giving her a big 'welcome back' hug. Cyprise smiled a bit as she hugged the tiny demon back before letting her go "...nothing's changed?" the shadow walker asked, nodding over to Haruka, Inessa shook her head "I mean her left little finger twitched a bit yesterday but no, no real changes" the demon stated. "The good thing though is that she's not brain dead yet and is breathing herself" Inessa stated as Cyprise's eyes narrowed a bit "That's supposed to good news?" "It means that she'll wake up" the tiny demon told the shadow walker "Just not yet... clearly she need the rest, we just... wrongly assumed how much she actually needed" Inessa said before turning back to her inventory checklist whilst Cyprise hesitantly walked over to Haruka. The shadow walker looked down at the sleeping terna.
Her armour and cult uniform removed for easier access to her now fully treated wounds, her tired face pale yet peaceful and gingery-red hair laid in still mess.
Cyprise sat down in the chair beside the bed, reaching her hand out and carefully moving a strand of hair off the terna's face. The shadow walker's face softened with a caring look as she watching over the terna demon, carefully and gently holding her hand in her own.

John stepped into his room, closing and locking the door behind himself as he kept his head to the ground. 

"What happened to you?" Grey Leader questioned John as the army leader walked into the infirmary of the Grey Army base "I was injured-" "By who?" the army leader cracked as the kildrem kept his eyes to the ground "I don't know, I never saw them-" "Bullshit" the Grey Leader spat, eyes glaring daggers at the cult leader. The Grey Leader then turned his head to Cyprise who was standing by John's side "Who injured him?" he harshly questioned her yet somehow Cyprise managed to keep a straight and blank face "I do not know sir, I found him injured and dragged him to safety, deciding to stay with him just in case the mission went south and I had to shadow-walk everyone out" she answered. The answer made sense yet didn't satisfy the army leader whatsoever and so he pulled out his pocket knife, grabbed John's left hand and stabbed the knife through the hand as John winced in pain. The Grey Leader didn't even utter another word before storming back out of the infirmary...
The cult leader looked down at his left hand where the now healed scar displayed itself on both sides of his hand before closing his eyes, trying to fight back the urge to yell or 'demon-out' on the room.

Once getting a hold of his anger and breathing, John looked up and around the room

John tiredly sat up and gently wrapped both of his arms around the seer, gently planting kisses on Lev's neck and shoulders as the seer quietly laughed...
He had him.
And he failed to protect him.
John gently held the seer's left hand, one of the devil's fingers brushing over the silver ring he had placed on there, on Lev's most important finger, months ago. "Marry me" John mumbled as Lev's face instantly heated up.....
John fell to the ground, back leaning up against the door as he raised a hand and covered the top half of his face with it. The one thing he has ever wanted, and he was dragged away from his grasp. The ideas and plans he wanted to suggest and tell him for the future, and wanting to show him how much he loved him.
But...
"Don't- I'll be okay" the seer tried to assure him "Yes, let the person you ever really loved get killed by the person who made you the monster you are" Grey Leader mocked as several of the killens within the room, that including Cyprise, Saskia and Tyce, sharing either confused or shocked faces...
As long as John is Frank's little puppet, John is never going to be with the person he loves
"John- no, don't" the seer begged before freezing up... and everyone saw it. The hurt in the cult leader's eyes as he looked at his only weakness standing in front of him, collared and threatened with death "I'm sorry...." John quietly apologised to Lev before giving the heartstone to the Grey Leader....
He knows Lev's never going to forgive him for what he had done and honestly, John would not forgive himself either.
He doesn't deserve love and he sure as hell doesn't deserve Lev, because to John... Lev deserves a much better person rather than a wanted cult leader who had lied, tricked, hurt, mocked and manipulated him for years.
John started to silently cry, heart broken and shattered, as his injuries throbbed.
He deserves no one.
