Miles away in a academy near a neighborhood; a teen leaves the building quickly and rushes down the sidewalk. Until his mother shouted at him upon bursting through the front door also "Makana! Don't forget your phone!", the boy looks over his shoulder " I got it, see!?" he tells back and fully turns around-starts running backwards! He then whips it out of his pocket and show her, "STOP!!" she suddenly screams! Makana does just before he was run over by a speeding car: he had drifted towards the street as soon as he looked away from his goal...

Later, he reached his neighborhood and ran past his home "Dude isn't gonna call me today, huh?" he wonders aloud. But is proven wrong once his phone plays 'La cucaracha', after giving a surprised look he answers it "Hel..."_the teen starts. " OZ! " the man on the other side of the phone yells happily and excitedly! "AH! Wh,what is it????" the boy asks fearfully, "Huh? Nothing!" the man replied "I'm just excited to get a hold of you!". "Professor Kau'i , you can't just do that outta nowhere! I felt like I was gonna get robbed or something!" Makana explained. "Sorry kid, I'm just excited to do this thang! You're still gonna help me open the new building, right?" the professor replies with a question. "Yeah, so long as you don't shout in my ear again!" Makana threatens and changes his phone to use speaker instead.. "Good! Now hurry up to the airport academy, you and your friend are my only link to all the history hidden around Hawaii!" Kau'i explains in a somewhat begging tone, "Oh yeah, I'm into the stuff! This junk is crazy, like history class sucks eggs, but this is gonna be fun! I hope we find something like we did the other day!!" Makana replies with a laugh! "Yeah, there's SO MUCH that happened over the past few centuries and it's kinda been covered up! Nobody is really interested in it either too, so it's up to us to learn from history before we're doomed to repeat it!" the professor warns with a slight snicker, "Pfff, I'm not afraid of that junk! I just wanna see what was going on; as long as there's not a bunch of political stuff, this should be cool!!!!!".

Makana eventually gets to a home with a starry pattern painted all over its walls, he steps into the yard as this area is much more busier than it was near his home... "Alright, let me see if she'll agree... How am I gonna ask her? This has nothing to do with her, and I think she hates this kinda stuff..." he thought.. But before he can walk to the door, his BFF comes out! She takes a deep inhale with a happy smile, then exhaled with a happy shudder then adjusted her toboggan and turns towards him "Makana! So you're gonna visit me every day now?" she asked in a surprised tone and with a sarcastic smirk. "No way, you're annoying! I'm not even visiting you, we had a school project before, I HAD to come over!". "Uh..huh; then what's your excuse this time, stalker? " she asks, "Um..."  Makana starts "Alright, Lei... Um.. Remember when Professor Kau'i asked me to come with him the other day?", " Yeah I thought  you got in trouble or something, you never really said much about it.." Lei replies, now with a more serious tone... "Well, we went on a little field trip, and he showed me the old this old statue that was buried underground..." he continued. "Underground? Wait, ....you're talking about something boring, right?" she asked with a annoyed tinge to the question.... "No it wasn't! That thing used to move! It was buried when mount Honolulu erupted!" Makana replied  excitedly "It was used in this crazy war; and the only reason it stopped was because it was buried under 5 feet of magma!". Lei replied with a soft smile as she walked off the steps to her house "Fine, fine... Let me guess; you want to get me to go with you to whatever boring trip you guys are going on?". " Yeah, except we won't be going with him! He's gonna give us the directions to all the places he found and we'll have full control over what we do and how we do it! Like if we see something cool, we can ..just TOUCH IT!" Makana says with intense and unsure tone... He got so excited he actually didn't know what he'd do with the control he'd have over the expeditions. "So you want me to go with you to touch stuff?" Lei asks, "Yeah, no.. Why did you have to make it weird!!!?" he asks with a irritated whine. "Relax, I guess it'll be fun?? Let's go and touch things!"  she  replied as she laughs in his face!

A little later they arrive near a tourist attraction: a water fountain surrounded by many different colored flowers, this was made along with several other monuments in the immediate vicinity of airports and docks to welcome guests and returning denizens via sending messages directly to whatever device one has when they pass by. These welcome them by name in any way possible, and works regardless if they weren't welcomed by humans or not.... There's also a extravagant gift shop nearby, full of many different and surprising objects for people to buy..

"Alright, we can buy whatever we want to I think.. Professor Kau'i said to come here first!" Makana explains happily, "So he just gave us access to his money and told us to do whatever we want?" Lei asks. "Y..." he started.....but is caught off guard by one of the tourists: a blonde walking to the same gift shop they're in front of. Lei wonders why he suddenly stopped and looks over her shoulder to see why: causing her to roll her eyes. "Geez, Makana... Every time a foreigner girl gets within eyesight you just completely lose it!" Lei says in frustration "They're not even interested in...". " Excuse me" the blonde starts, surprising the best friends as she steps up to them; "Could you show me where the Hilo Academy is? Or well any one, I'd use GPS but my phone is....." there's a awkward pause...then she suddenly adds "the battery's dead!". " Um, yeah! We c,could go to th,the Airport academy right now!" Makana replies excitedly, "Okay, thanks! I'm Sunny by the way; what's your names?". " I'm Makana and she's; Lei!"  he reveals with a excited tone, Lei then pulls him away "We'll just..." she quickly says with a smile... Then angrily says under her voice "Makana!  Why are you immediately trusting some random stranger so fast??? Isn't strange that she asked for our names SO fast? She could be from some rival government or something!", " She's just a nice girl! What're you get so worked up about??" he replied in annoyance "Look, we can help her relax quick before we go, alright? She looked so lonely too!". " Listen to me: that was EXTREMELY unnatural! Who in their right mind familiarize themselves with total strangers SO quickly?!?? And that phone thing was REALLY wired!!!" she explains emphatically. But before Makana could think, they were both interrupted by Sunny: "Um.. Can we go now?" she asks... Lei and Makana both turn around and smile nervously "Yeah. let's go!" he agrees!

The group actually goes into the Airport Academy,  instead of into the tourist trap
