Jae-Suk walks down the hallway back to Kyliamira's suite and opens the door. She is standing there with only lettuce as fig leaves covering herself in one spot in particular. She takes a bite of a Juicy plum as he steps inside. The juice runs down her full lips, down her chin, and to her chest. She licks her lips. "Aadam…You wanna bite" She says, smiling big. "Oh. Really now?!" Jae-Suk says, nodding yes in utter delight, "Everywhere…" He says, biting his lip and smiling that smile as shuts the door to make his way over to his true desire. Kyliamira giggles and begins to moan...Yous know the rest. These crazy kids!
He wakes up first and goes to the gym for a workout with Knox. For the two of them, it was business as usual. They had already agreed to not discuss anything outside of the floor of the apartment because of the safeguards Kyliamira has taken to protect herself and now us. When he gets back he showers and sees Kyliamira is still sleeping. She looks so peaceful he dare not wake her. He decided to cook breakfast. She ended up waking, washing up, brushing her teeth, and heading down to the kitchen to greet him. "What have you cooked up? It smells heavenly! MMMMM you made coffee too. Have I told you I love you today?" She says as she holds on to him from behind. "No, but I look forward to hearing it with or without clothes on in any octave you choose. Sing for me, ma." Jae-Suk says biting at her hands playfully. He plates breakfast and they sit at the counter to eat. Kyliamira's face looks downcast.
"I have something I have to tell you. I'm just not sure how. I think I know what to do bu-" She says looking at the floor as Jae-Suk during her trying to get it out pulls her chin up so their eyes can lock. "I know why you came here. The Fates told me everything. Do you think you can fool the buyer? I know you are good. Can you be perfect though? We are protected from supernatural death, but If he kills us we only have one more shot at this." He says as he kisses her nose. Kyliamira puts their phones in a bag and turns on her scrambler. If there are any bugs the already amplified scrambler will completely knock them out. The ones in her apartment already do that at the sound of her voice and last for a length of 7 hours. She tells him everything as if she is in confession seeking absolution. They discuss how they will keep up the guise around the office and his family.
There is a countdown as to when she was supposed to have completed the mission. There is still plenty of time. They hatch a plan to start dating and declare their love because that was what her mission was anyway. This will allow her time to replicate the diadem. "It has to be perfect they will test it. You are sure you got this?" He says now concerned. "Yes, and if my confidence fails me, I have a safety net already in place. Don't worry. What do we do about my dad and Niels?" She asks him impatiently. "Simmer down now, We will talk to them tomorrow and figure that out from there ok. Now, my mother is going to try to match-make us. At first, we need to resist at first. Say you just got here and still want to explore or some shit like that. Focusing on work is priority for you and you don't like distractions, but tell her that I am handsome and ambitious or something ya know, compliment me in your letdown. My mom will take it easier that way and regroup and try again. Her second attempt, give in, agree to a date, or whatever plan she comes up with to get us alone. If we give in too easily she will know something is up.
Jae-Suk, Knox, and I get into his tank of a vehicle and head from Gangnam to Itaewon. Once finally arrive at his mini-palace, and goes inside. Ms. Jang Gok and Keku greet us at the front entrance. Keku observes me as we take off our shoes and coats. "It's ok little warrior, come," Jae-Suk says to Keku with his hand on top of mine. Keku licked both our hands and went about happily playing with his new ball. Ms. J hugged me and welcomed me into the home. She prepared some food and drinks for us. There was hot tea, banana milk, Korean toast sandwiches, sweet potato fries, Gimbap, Yum Yum chicken strips, Gamjauk, and some Manduguk. "Please everyone go into the parlor and sit by the fire and eat. Eat well. Keku come." She says as she walks into the kitchen to let Keku out back. We all sit and eat. Everything was so delicious. This really hit the spot. Jae-Suk gives me a tour of the house and shows me to his room where the diadem is. I sit on the couch while he retrieves it from the safe. There is a high-pitch resonance coming from it, but not like when you get a high pitch from a ringing in your ear. This was pleasant. He sat it on the table in front of me. The pattern on it began to swirl a bit like liquid slowly almost like it was barely moving. It all looked like mercury slowly moving about. "It's so pretty. What happens when you touch it?" I ask him with eyes wide slowly reaching." He gently places his hand on top of mine and says, "Let's see."
After touching the diadem I could feel it humming and then a vibration being sent into my soul. It felt like a vibrating massage. It was not painful in any way. It was invigorating actually. After a few moments, I feel myself falling asleep. When I woke up I was covered in sweat and my hair was soaking wet. I was in his bed. Jae-Suk was sitting beside me watching TV. "What happened?" I ask him. "You fell asleep. You must be tired after everything." He says gently stroking my hair. "That rock is why my son, turned on my other son, isn't it? This is what wars have been fought over and kingdoms toppled t find. This is the true holy grail, not some chalice. I saw everything. There is not a granule of the sands of time within there, it is the breath from the first words that created the multiverse. The frequency that set all this in motion. Love, I have to get started on this right away if I am going to get this right away. I need Niels and my equipment." I say to him with urgency. I went to sit up but felt really dizzy. "Get some rest. I will reach out to Niels for you." He says as I drift off to sleep.
I woke to the sound of Niels, Knox, and Jae-Suk talking about everything and Knox catching his long-time friend and fellow watcher up to speed. Once Jae-Suk told Niels the plan, he knew exactly what I would need to make this replica authentically successful. He and Knox leave to get all the supplies. They load everything into the panic room in the sub-basement of Jae-Suk's home. Due to the storm, everyone is working remotely for now. We are locked down and safe. Kyliamira is now in the process of making the diadem. She has been working nonstop on her new mission. She is now using the same materials with the aid of the Fates used to create the original diadem with the exception of the breath of creation. She however has been working on a way to generate the frequency. The fates have been leaving instructions in the lab daily with celestial materials. Kyliamira has yet to have the pleasure of meeting them, yet. It has now been four days in and out of this lab for hours. I am starving and need to take a break. The lab and house have been warded and the Diadem has been cloaked so no attacks will happen here.
Ms. J has been working to feed us well. She thinks we have been working on the prototype that will launch at the Gala De Luna. I am sure she knows more though. This evening we will have an early dinner, but what a feast it is. She has prepared Korean Dumplings, Cheese Deung-galbi, Kimchi, some bottles of Cass and Soju, Bungeoppang, Bulgogi, Spinach Soup, and Rice. We sat by the fire in the parlor, ate, laughed, and talked. I did not want to leave. I wanted to stay in this moment forever. As we are getting ready to call it a night, we hear Keku running into his bowl of treats. He had beef, rice, red beans, carrots, barley, and egg in his bowl. He was delighted with his meal as we all were. We certainly ate well. I am a little tipsy from the Cass and Soju.
"Oh and the fail-safe. I'm sorry I didn't tell you this earlier. I needed to be sure I could trust you all and I know I can now. I have a very special spell that I can cast on the diadem. No test or counter spell will be able to break it. It will appear real and the ritual they will do to get the granule of time locked within will trap them there. There will be no spell to let evil out of it. It will become Pandora's Diadem. I can tell you no more than that though. Your mind must remain safe from the knowledge of it.” Kyliamira told Knox, Jae-Suk, and Niels with a big smile. “Well looks like we have much to still work on,” Niels says helping Ms. J clear the table. We all help take everything into the kitchen and put the food into containers. “Thank you all, but I will take it from here. Everyone off to enjoy the rest of your evening.” Ms. J says as she shews us all out of the kitchen.
Everyone heads to bed except Kyliamira, who is still working on the diadem. The next morning Knox and Niels come in and go straight downstairs. Sullivan and I have been in communication about work duties and what is expected of her during this time. "If you need anything just shout. We will be back soon." Knox says as he pats my shoulder. Niels has been quite the surprise. At first glance, he is this rather put-together type of person, very unassuming in appearance. He is about 5'9" slender build with great health. He goes to the gym every day. He and Knox were in the military together. Niels has been like a watchful parent to me since this all started. I sought him out and poached him from another service. He is a beast in combat from what I have witnessed with their training sessions. He has been teaching me many things and I hope he keeps up with me. I have learned so much from him and I look forward to learning more. He is kind and gentle, but when needed he is a hurricane.
Once downstairs, they go into the panic room and begin work on the new diadem. It will be complete within a few weeks. I want to run as many tests as possible. By the night of the Gala, it will be ready and perfect with the help the Fates are providing. Blessed be.
I see how hard Kyliamira is working non-stop, so I decide to pull her away to relax a bit. "Come up for a sec," I say over the com in the panic room. She codes the door to lock and comes up to the parlor room. There is music playing and candles everywhere. Champagne on ice, Pepero cake, honey-drizzled mochi cakes, and strawberries injected with strawberry Soju dipped in chocolate. Ms. J is in the guest house for the night. Kyliamira walks into the room and her eyes light up. "Allow me to officially do this right. I did ask you before and you said yes, but I had not a ring just yet that was right for you. So Kyliamira Macena-Lugo, I love you for eons and beyond. I would be honored to have you as my queen forever. Will you marry me, again?" I say as I take a knee. She comes over and sits on my leg and kisses me sweeter than honey and smiles warmly. "Yes for all time and eternity, YES!" She exclaims as she extends her hand for me to place the ring.
Unbeknownst to Kyliamira the Tan family was also present via video conference with Ms.J cheering and applauding at this momentous occasion. Kyliamira jumps in surprise and laughs sweetly. “I love you so much.”She says as she kisses him and hugs him tight. The couple thank everyone and end the video stream. They spend the evening in a hot bubble bath together and intertwine, merging their souls once again in new life into the brink of day. The Fates complete the diadem that night. Adding the breath of destruction and making it have the same frequency as the breath of creation. They take the diadem in its cloaked form and give it back to the Cosmic Birther where it will be safe from everyone and everything for time and time infinity.
Over the next few months, their plans seemingly come together perfectly. To Bora-Ari her unparalleled match-making skills have brought a worldly older woman into the life of her wild son Jae-Suk and he has turned into quite the potential husband. The engagement party is going to be within the next few weeks and she is planning to turn the Gala into a double-header event. Gala Del Luna is going to be a night to remember for sure.
We have been back in the office now for quite some time. The whole working remotely seemed to help move things along with the prototype without causing more stress on the staff with work-home balance. They seemed to do a better job with progress in a more comfortable environment.
I have been feeling rather nauseous lately. Especially at the scent of Kimchi or egg. "Boss lady, I'm heading down to the cafeteria want some ginger ale and grahams? You look like you need to lie down. You feeling ok today?" Sullivan says to me as she places a bottle of water and some antacids on my desk. "Yes please, that sounds nice. I'm ok just feel a little motion sick but standing still...I think I am going to go get some fresh air. Can you message Chairman Tan to please come to my office? Thank you." She takes my phone and messages Jae-Suk to come to my office. Jae-Suk walks into my office as I am walking to the wrack to get my jacket. His smile quickly turns to concern as I faint. I can hear voices faintly telling me it is going to be ok and I am here. As we go down the hallway, I am laying on a stretcher. I see lights above me as I drift in and out of consciousness. I smell cherry blossom trees.
"Hey troublemaker, how are you feeling? I'll get the doctor ok. Be right back." He says to me kissing my forehead. I nod that I am ok. He is gone for a few minutes and comes back in just as the doctor follows behind him. "You gave this guy quite a fright Miss Macena-Lugo. How is your nausea?" Dr. Jeon says as he holds my hand checking the pulse on my wrist. "I feel better. The IV fluids must have helped. I have been burning the candle at both ends lately. My body must have needed to rest. Was I dehydrated, maybe?" I say looking at Dr. Jeon and then over to Jae-Suk. "No, but you are pregnant. I recommend taking a short break from work just for a few days to regain your strength. Be sure to hydrate and eat well. I have some prenatal vitamins for you but understand you take better to the liquid form as opposed to pill form. I will have the nurse be sure to provide that to you at departure today. Congratulations you are 13 weeks from the looks of your ultrasound. We wanted to wait until you were awake to tell you together." He says as he hands Jae-Suk the photos of the ultrasound. We both stand in amazement. I mean it is not like we weren't not trying, but I take birth control. I guess this little one is the one percent. Jae-Suk hugs and cries on my belly. I am happy and cry as well, but then this fear sets in. What if they come for our child?
"I'll leave you too alone. Congratulations!" Dr. Jeon says as he closes the door.
