Translation Note: The Carnaval is a popular festival of great scope in Brazil. In addition to the known Escolas de Samba, there are dances in clubs and the so-called street Carnaval. The street Carnaval is organized in Blocos, often thematic (eg, a block that plays Beatles rhythm of samba), crowding people playing the Carnaval. It´s worth to remember that the street party is very diverse, ranging from traditional Blocos that bring together thousands and even small Blocos formed by groups of friends.
