The sound of slabs colliding with each other caught my attention when I woke up. I was getting ready to go down for breakfast since Aunt Rubí had come to wake me up earlier.
I walk down the stairs barefoot, skipping a few steps to the kitchen, the smell of pancakes and peaches making my mouth water.
"Good morning Auntie," I greeted Rubí who was placing a mountain of pancakes on my plate while she took a seat on the benches in the breakfast room.
"Good morning, little flower," she gave me one of those smiles full of joy, just as she knew how to give them. "You know?" I'm glad to make breakfast for two instead of Miss Petunia and myself. ”She pointed to her cat who was in the corner drinking water.
"From what I see you'll eat a lot of muffins," she laughed and refused to pass a boul of fruit this time.
"It is your plate, remember that it is no longer you. You have to think for two, I want that baby to be born healthy and strong. Then I'll make you a chocolate cake, or better a pie."
"Aunt. Do you know how many calories the brownie has?" I never eat chocolate, grabbed my fruit and pushed the looming mountain of pancakes a bit aside.
"Oh no. Your diets are left in Sydney, I don't want any of that here," she demanded and I nodded with a grimace.
"And how are you Stace?" I asked my friend who she was talking to on Skype.
"A lot of homework, college is worse than high school."
"How do I want to be worried about that now?" She made a face.
"Sorry."
"Don't worry," I smile
"Oh by the way..."
"What?"
"There was a man ..." I put the cake aside and listened to what he was saying.
"Hey, when?"
"It was just at check-in time. A pretty handsome man by the way, half a university student wet his panties. He came in a suit, he seemed to be going to work or something, you wonder, I suppose he has seen us together. I noticed that she arrived right in that car that sometimes would pick you up," I urge her to continue "he said he needed to see you urgently because she had to give you something." Look at her phone and then at me "Something totally strange according to me."
Never in my life would I have imagined that she would look for me this was very strange to tell the truth I did not know what to feel about it.
"What did you say to him?" I asked him quickly.
"Just that you went on a trip and I don't know when you'd be back." He seemed very concerned. She nods convinced.
Unconsciously I pull out a hand that my belly makes a confused grimace on the spot.
"Stace, I have to leave you." Aunt Rubí calls me downstairs, bye. I closed the call before she said anything.
My gaze wandered and she got lost in my bedroom window wondering what I was trying to do about it. If she had my baby, which by the way was what she was going to do without a doubt, how would she do it? At some point she will ask me where her father is and I won't know what to answer. But he very well said that he did not want any relationship with me, so why was he looking for me?
