Upon entering the Airport Academy; they quickly are guided to a Kiosk via Makana's phone...

Upon nearing it, the screen shows professor Kau'i smirking at them "So you brought even more along for the ride!" he exclaimed, "Oh yes he did; I'm Sunny!" the blonde interrupted happily! "Like that energy!" the Professor replies "And I'm Kau'i, a history professor from Hilo!". He then changed then points at  Makana as he adds " And that guy behind you is my star pupil! I gave access to my research account to  find hidden mysteries that are buried under our island!". "Star pupil!!?" the boy chimed in surprise, "Of course you are! Nobody else would use their field trip credits on finding artifacts for their crazy teacher!" the professor chuckled. "Ah, wh,what about me?" Lei asks in curiosity, "And you're the most student I ever had in my class!" Kau'i replied with a laugh! She sighs in slight worry, but he assures Lei and Makana: "This goes a long way to overall score and can technically be used for scholarship to get into any college you want!". " Seriously??? " Makana asks in utter surprise, "Yeah, I got the connections; it's called MONEY!" the professor laughed madly "So use that fund to find junk I don't get time to look for! And don't come to class without anything!". " I won't! We'll find every piece of history on this island!" Makana says with a smirk! Then he and Kau'i give each other a thumbs up, before the kiosk shuts off. "You and, cawee(?) Seem like good friends?" Sunny asks: "He helped me out a lot while my dad was away, guy's kinda like a second dad to me sometimes!" Makana reveals with a sheepish laugh! "That's a nice way to say he creeped into his family while Makana's actual dad is at work!" Lei joked! "Hey!! It isn't like that!" The boy started to defend his favorite teacher "Just because he got me into his favorite hobby and is good friends with mom.. Wait a minute..." the boy slows up as he started to wonder, but is snapped out of this paranoia with Lei's voice: "C'moo-oon! Let's  hurry up and do it so we can get the extra credit; that was just a joke; who'd want yo mama anyway?". " Hey, don't start with those yo mama jokes! I warned you!" Makana semi-jokes; "Okay, okay!" Lei replied with a laugh as they leave the building. Sunny follows them as she giggles.

A hour or so later; the trio are riding a golf cart across a backroad. While Makana couldn't technically just drive where he wanted, he COULD use a cart to get where he wanted to go... While it albeit slow, they were faster than on foot. "You guys are hilarious! " Sunny says with a laugh "How did you become friends? It's really hard to make any back home...". "Haha, this girl wanted to my cookie in kindergarten! " Makana says with faux snark. "I was hungry and this guy made me BEG for that lump of dough!" Lei jokes. "No I didn't, you just took it after I said 'no'!" he snapped back with a laugh, "I..." he trails off and stops the kart! "There it is!" Makana then gasps, the girls turn towards him after this abrupt sto  and ask "What the??". " The place where the famous soldier from the Bahamas went down fighting; he arrived here in 2069 to help us win! " Makana recites what he learned in his school books and during lectures. Then he gets out and scans the area with his phone; it has a app Kau'i made. The thing beeps slowly, but speeds up upon Makana standing in the middle of the uninhabited area full of monkeygrass... "It's under here, g,get me a shovel!" he exclaimed excitedly, "Okay, dude... You're more crazy than my brothers on hog pizza night!" Lei says with a slight laugh, and gets one of the tools out of the back of the cart. Makana had brought several tools too on the way out of town.. The ones she brings are shovels  with heads that spin on command so one can drill through dirt when one gets fatigued from digging. Makana starts to shovel quickly, Lei helps, but Sunny merely watches in excitement as they unearth a half of a rusted gunhandle, Makana shudders in excitement, then drills the clay from around from its sides, and grabbed the artifact! "It's really a ancient weapon!!!" he exclaimed in a hushed tone, Lei smirks nervously as Sunny adds "The exact one the soldier used??? Should we report it?". " Y,yeah; I'mma hurry.." Makana replies softly, then reach his left hand into his pockets to get his phone; but Kau'i doesn't pick up... And then looks up and revealed to his traveling companions; "He's busy.. His phone just has his answering machine.". "Then I guess we're okay? We can still show him later!" Lei  suggests, "Yeah, by later you'd probably have much more to show him too!", "Alright, let's go!!!,"  Makana replies cheerfully  "I figured this could happen, that's why I brought these!". He runs to the back of the kart and lies the rusted thing inside one if the specially made bags for cradling old things. Sunny then asks "Um, it's getting dark; is there a hotel nearby?", the other two look up at the setting sun... Then the boy replies "Oh yeah! We got money, we can go to a 5-star place!". "Are you sure???! Maybe you should ask him first?!" Lei suggests;  possibly stealing was a thing she wanted to avoid! "Professor Kau'i told me it would be okay before, in fact he told me just yesterday!" he revealed, "Alright, but if you're lying I'll tell him you pushed me into a room and, force fed me caviar!" his best friend threatened as they got back in the kart.. "Why would I force you to spend what's technically MY money now??! And who said I'd get you a room anyway?" Makana jokes.

After that night; they walked to a nearby site of another famous battle: the ground was completely dark and crusted over; it looks unnatural near the flowery meadows. The trio were some of the few people around this area, most they quickly get bored and leave; Makana though is excited "...so we can go anywhere you want too, like if this gets boring!" he finished saying to Sunny, who responds "Thanks! I'm not bored though.. It's just we're literally leaving a 5-star hotel to dig again..I'm still very curious about what went on here!".  "Right now we're in the place where the war caused a huge eruption to bury everybody!" Makana excitedly says, his BFF then elaborates: "It was mount Honolulu that erupted. People mistook it for being extinct and unintentionally caused the tragedy." "Mount Honolulu???" Sunny asks in surprise, Lei then adds "It was man made to use magma as a energy source, but..."  The blonde gasps and replies: "In class back home; they just said this place had a war but you guys won. No artificial volcano!". "Yeah well, that's the education system: they teach what they want." Lei replies in a laconic tone "Now if you'll excuse me...". She grabs Makana's hand and snatches him away "I hafta ask him a school question...", he friend as he's tugged behind a huge wall of obsidian "School question? What else is there to know? We're on a field trip WE can control because I'm helping our teacher/rich professor out! It's a win-win-win!" Makana asks in some annoyance. "You didn't even notice, did you?" She replies in equal annoyance. Makana asks "What? We all had great rooms! ...You're actually mad at me?". " No... yeah! Yeah I am, you left me! You don't even remember because you were talking to SuNNEEE so much!" she tells him with a especially irritated tone. "That's because she was already awake, and I'm trying to get her to stay on a history trip!" Makana revealed "And why did you say her name like THAT?"... right now, Lei was a little satisfied with his excuse, so she says: "Sorry, forget it... I just didn't want to be left behind...", her BFF laughs "Of course we wouldn't of completely left you, I was gonna go back after showing her this! Now let's go!". He starts to turn away from her "We hafta go to the basalt mines! Pr..." Makana suddenly stops movement and talking as he almost runs into Sunny! ...Was she standing there listening again!?? "Um, is everything alright?" she asks.... "Yeah, I was just coming for ya!" Makana happily says as he gets hot all over! Lei though is even more suspicious of her than before..

That night; they stayed in another hotel far from the other... This one was less fancy, but still very safe and had decent amenities... Yet when Lei tries to sleep; her mind races: "Who IS she? That girl feels so weird, not just for a foreigner, but for a human being.. I don't get why Makana likes her, or why she won't leave...". She suddenly covers her own ears as she thought angrily "And I don't get why I care either!". Then she notices one can hear others through the thin walls..nothing weird was going on, except with Sunny's voice; she's whispering to someone.. Lei tries not to eavesdrop..but was far to curious; while it was not clear what she was talking about, the tone of her voice was serious sounding, which seems unusual for Sunny., Lei tried to cover her ears again and go to sleep, but her mind already had focused on the conversation and she started becoming unnerved.... That morning Makana was happily talking to Sunny again; the blonde is next to him instead of Lei...who's dragging behind and has dark circles around her eyes due to lack of sleep.... but she seems to wake up when Sunny says; "Oh finally a pit stop!". " What's up?" Makana asks as they neared a restaurant in a ashen city. "Nature calls!." she explains, he smiles wryly replying "Oh yeah, be careful though!". "Of course." she replies breathlessly and goes inside... Makana sighs in happiness watching her go in, but Lei abruptly turned him towards her!! "She's a freak!" his BFF tells him, "What're you still doing that?!" he asks with a irritated tone, then notices her eyes: "Wait, did you sleep???". "No!!!! That girl kept me up all night!" Lei revealed, "What the? You were listening to her through the wall???" Makana asked in worry for his now seemingly insane friend, "Wh,what was she saying?"  spilled from his mouth with morbid curiosity.. "I didn't hear it all, but it was basically: she's been using us and is almost done!". "She could just mean touring; I think she just wants to see Hawaii off the beaten path and she's using us to see everything without paying! She isn't hurting us!". "But what did it mean when she said she needed us only a little longer?? Nobody NEEDS a specific person for touring! She's..."  his BFF suddenly stops talking. Makana noticed, then looks over his shoulder to see Sunny! "Hey guys, look!!!" she exclaims, they turn towards where she suggested and see a parade starting a little ways away.  The group uses the rest of this day watching the festivities!

Now they near Kauai the next day; it's overgrown with wild flowers. And unlike the rest of Hawaii is nearly devoid of any civilization at all. The only sign of humanity are the tourists and guides randomly sprawled about, along with feral livestock.. Also; Makana is talking with Sunny again "... And that's when I hopped up the stairs on one foot, I'm so glad I didn't trip!", "Hahaha! You and Lei crazy! I'm surprised you survived one another!" she laughs. Then notices a sign: "It says welcome to princeville; we're already here? We couldn't of moved THAT fast from Hilo, right?" she asks. Lei steps between the two and casually tells her " The volcano rendered the other islands uninhabitable and shifted the tectonic plates; we were only able to get here so fast because most of the archipelego is gone." Sunny almost asks more, but Lei quickly pulls her BFF away without a word "Wh,What is it this time?!" he asks, "We should go back; we're wasting time!" she tries to convince him. "We found stuff!" he retorts in some annoyance "We can't give up!". Lei pulls him to the kart and reaches into the only bag up with the rusty old handle inside: "Only this! And I'd understand if we were searching hard and had badluck, but you're basically just going out with Sunny at this point!" Lei says. Makana then asks " I was just trying to show her around a little. But I'll be serious today! Why do you wanna go back so fast anyway??". "Because my mom keeps calling and I had my own personal business to take care of! I don't think either of us should keep wasting time!" she replies in a snappy voice, "We're looking..alright! Let me.." he started to say, but is interrupted by Sunny. "Guys, guys..." They turn towards, then she points to a lone building far away; "I think I found MY mom!" Sunny reveals, making them wonder at what this exactly meant.. They get to the building quicker than expected, and find it's the only structure here for miles. A academy ironically shaped like a mountain, but surrounded by mechanisms and few scientists that would come out and check the environment. The trio near the building, and catch the attention of one "Children? Go back along the designated paths: this is no place for laymen." he warns, but a voices echoed from inside "No Charlie, let them in. I know one of them.".. The elderly man wonders at this, but lets them in... This academy is a huge laboratory full of wild looking, unreleased technology, even in this time period. The communication and viewing devices are strangely shaped and are activated solely through voice. The trio are surprised at the sheer insanity they're seeing, until a tall & very slender blonde woman walks to them: "Sunny!" she exclaims, "Mommy!" The girl cheers, they run to and embrace each other, which surprises the other two: her mother was a scientist in their homeland the entire time? "Ah, it's been so long!" the woman sighs happily as they look into each other's robin-egg blue eyes. "Yeah, I thought I'd graduate college before I'd see you again!" Sunny joked. "Oh no way, I'd quit work first!" the woman replies assuredly..which scares eavedroppers. "And who are they?" she asks as she turns towards them, Sunny does too "These are my friends! They brought me here!" she explains."Ah, and what are your names?" her mother asks;  then introduces herself "You can call me Miss Eclair.". " I'm Makana. " the boy also introduces himself, "And I'm Lei.." his BFF says. "Aww... Excuse me for asking, but dating right?" she coos. He steps back from Lei, "Don't, we're just buddies!" he nervously explains. "Okay, if you say so!" Eclair replied in a goofy tone, then says in a more serious one "On another note: I would like to show you three something. I can trust you, right? I know I can trust my cute wittle, Wunny!"  she ends up making a babyish voice as she tugs Sunny's hair, "MOM!" the blonde girl whines, "Oh sorry, it's just it feels good knowing there's someone around I can 100% simply trust." the woman explains. "You can trust us too! My teacher does!" Makana assures her, earning him a annoyed glance from Lei: "Good, then come with me." the woman orders, and they follow her under a giant telescope.. "Look up, through the special lense; it cuts through the atoms that currently bind us." she explains in a ominous tone... The trio look ps through the giant lenses....
