As they journeyed back to Havenbrook, they asked Jack all sorts of questions, and he happily answered, sharing his knowledge brought him joy.
Clover was eager to learn more about her powers and to hone her skills
under Jack's guidance. However, her curiosity extended far beyond the
borders of Greywood and the kingdom of Elderwood. She yearned to explore
what lay beyond, to venture into the unknown and discover the secrets
of the wider world.
"Jack, what news do you have about the other kingdoms?" she asked.
Jack nodded, his expression growing serious. "There are rumors of unrest in the kingdom of Aranthia," he said. "It seems that the king is facing opposition from a powerful faction of nobles who are unhappy with his rule. There have been reports of skirmishes on the border, and it's possible that war could break out at any moment."
Clover gasped in shock. Aranthia had always been a peaceful kingdom, and she couldn't imagine it being torn apart by war. "What about the other kingdoms?" she asked.
"Things are relatively quiet in the Metal Empire," Jack replied. "The queen is still working to rebuild after the last war, and tensions with neighboring kingdoms are minimal. And in kingdom of White Rock, there are reports of a new mage council being formed. It seems that the kingdom is making a renewed effort to harness the power of magic."
Clover nodded, taking in all the information. She had always been fascinated by the politics and intrigues of the other kingdoms, but she knew that Elderwood needed to focus on its own challenges.
As they rode on, Jack continued to fill them in on the latest news and events happening beyond Elderwood's borders. Clover listened intently, her mind racing with the possibilities. She knew that as a mage, she had a role to play in the wider world.
Clover couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement bubbling within her. She was eager to learn more about her powers and hone her skills under Jack's guidance.
The night sky suddenly lit up with a strange glow. Clover looked up to see a rare crystal Moth fluttering its wings in the sky, its body emitting a soft, ethereal light.
Clover gasped in awe. She had heard stories of the crystal Moth, a rare creature that was said to bring good luck and fortune to those who saw it. But she had never thought she would see one in real life.
Jack looked up at the Moth, his eyes wide with wonder. "I've heard stories of these creatures, but I've never seen one in person," he said, his voice filled with excitement.
As they rode on, the Moth continued to dance in the sky, its wings creating a shimmering trail of light behind it. Clover couldn't take her eyes off it, feeling as though she was under a spell.
Jack leaned over to Clover, his voice barely a whisper. "Legend has it that the Crystal Moth is drawn to those who possess great magic. It's said that those who see it are destined for great things."
Clover felt a chill run down her spine. Was it possible that the crystal moth had appeared to her because of her own magical abilities? She didn't know, but the thought filled her with a sense of wonder and excitement.
As they rode out of sight of the crystal moth, Clover couldn't help but look back, hoping to catch one more glimpse of the magical creature. She knew that seeing it had been a rare and special gift, one that she would never forget.
As they walked, Jack suddenly spoke up, "Grady, have you ever considered learning magic? I can see the magical auras of people, just like clover can, and I couldn't help to notice that you have the potential to use dark elemental magic. With your connection to the Darkness, you could become an enchanter and with you being a blacksmith it would only enhance your abilities."
Grady was taken aback by Jack's suggestion. He had never thought about using magic before. "I...I don't know if I could do it. Magic seems so complicated," he replied.
"It's not as complicated as you think," Jack reassured him. "I could teach you, just like I'm teaching Clover. And who knows, you might even surpass us all someday."
With Jack's encouragement, Grady began to consider the idea of learning magic. He had always been interested in enchanting armors and weapons he created, and the thought of imbuing them with magical power was intriguing.
As they continued their journey, Clover couldn't help but notice the change in Grady's demeanor. He seemed more focused, more determined.
"Hey, Clover," Grady called out to her, "I noticed you like collecting magic rocks. My father is a hunter and he sometimes comes across rare stones. Maybe I could show you some of them?"
Clover's eyes lit up at the prospect. "Yes, please! I would love that," she replied eagerly. Her eats up in excitement.
As they approached Havenbrook, Jack reminded them of the importance of discretion. They couldn't let anyone know about their magical abilities.
They arrived at town, the three companions were met with skeptical and fearful gazes from the townspeople. Jack knew he had to act quickly to dispel the rumors about the ghost.
"My name is Sir Jackonson Maximillian Reginald III, Duke of Wibblesworthshire," he said, extending his hand. "But you can call me Jack." I'm here to tell you how we defeated the undead monstrosity.
Clover and Grady watched as Jack greeted the townspeople with his grand introduction. They couldn't help but roll their eyes at his theatrics, but they knew it was all part of his charming persona.
As Jack explained to the townspeople that the ghost was just a hoax, the villagers began to relax and breathe a sigh of relief. They were grateful for Jack and his companions' help in dispelling the rumors and restoring peace to their town.
After bidding farewell to the townspeople, the trio made their way to their Hava lizards. Clover couldn't help but feel a sense of longing as she gazed upon Jack's exotic lizard, with its iridescent scales and shimmering wings. She had never seen a creature like it before.
As they mounted their lizards and prepared to leave Havenbrook, Jack turned to his companions. "Well done, everyone. We did good today," he said with a grin.
Clover and Grady exchanged a smile, feeling a sense of accomplishment. They may have come to Havenbrook to solve a simple problem, but they had also gained valuable experience and strengthened their bond as a team.
With a flick of their reins, they took off into the horizon, leaving Havenbrook behind and heading back to their home base in Greywood.
The story follows Clover, a young Bunny orphan haunted by the memory of her parents' murder, as she navigates her daily life and discovers a unique gift. When strange occurrences happen at the neighboring town's borders, Clover sets out on a journey with her friend Grady to investigate.
