Hina jolted awake, sweat beading on her forehead. She had been dreaming again, but this time it was different. It felt too real, too terrifying to be just another dream.
As she looked around her room, she noticed that things were different. The furniture seemed to be pulsing with a sickly green light, and the shadows seemed to be alive, shifting and writhing like snakes. Hina's heart raced as she realized that the Dream Pill had somehow spilled over into her waking world.
She stumbled out of bed, her legs weak and unsteady. As she walked towards the door, she heard a whispering voice in her ear, urging her to stay and embrace the nightmare. She knew she had to get out of there, so she threw open the door and ran outside.
The world outside was even worse. The streets were deserted, the buildings looming like dark shadows against a blood-red sky. Hina ran, her breath coming in ragged gasps, trying to make sense of the nightmare that had become her reality.
As she ran, she heard screams and cries for help. She tried to ignore them, to keep running, but something inside her made her turn around. And that's when she saw them.
Creatures unlike anything she had ever seen before were attacking people in the streets. The creatures were grotesque and deformed, with twisted limbs and hunched postures that made them seem like they were always ready to pounce. Their skin was mottled and scaly, like the hide of some monstrous reptile, and their eyes were a sickly yellow, glowing with an otherworldly light. Their razor-sharp claws were long and jagged, dripping with blood and gore as they tore into their prey.
Hina could hear their guttural snarls and hisses, as they reveled in the destruction they wrought. Some of them were covered in patches of wiry fur, giving them an even more bestial appearance. They moved with a disturbing grace, almost like they were dancing to a rhythm only they could hear, as they chased down their victims with terrifying speed.
As Hina watched, frozen in fear, one of the creatures lunged forward,
As the creature got closer, Hina could see the drool dripping from its mouth, and smell the stench of decay that emanated from its body. Its movements were almost too fast to track, and Hina knew that she was no match for it in a fight. She tried to dodge out of the way, but the creature was too quick. Its claws sliced through the air, missing her by mere inches.
Hina's heart raced as she backed away, trying to put as much distance as possible between herself and the creature. But it continued to pursue her relentlessly, its bloodlust driving it to attack again and again. Hina knew that she couldn't keep running forever, that eventually, she would tire and the creature would catch up with her.
Hina closed her eyes, bracing herself for the inevitable, but when she opened them again, she found herself back in her room, gasping for breath.
The Dream Pill had turned her own mind against her, filling her with terror and despair.
As she walked out of her room, Hina noticed the pill on her desk. It was a small, innocuous-looking thing, but she knew it held the power to turn her world into a nightmare. Hina picked it up, studying it closely as fear coursed through her veins.
"What is this thing?"
she muttered to herself.
"How can a little pill have so much power?"
Suddenly, she heard a voice behind her.
"That's a very good question,"
the voice said. Hina spun around, her heart racing. She was alone in the room, but she could have sworn she had heard someone speaking to her. She looked down at the pill in her hand, wondering if it had somehow caused her to hallucinate.
