Hina woke up to the sound of her alarm clock, feeling more tired than usual. She rubbed her eyes and yawned, struggling to shake off the grogginess that had settled over her.
As she got dressed and headed out the door, she couldn't help but think about the Dream Pill and the strange dreams it had been giving her. She felt like she was losing control, like something inside her was trying to take over.
But she had to push those thoughts aside and focus on the day ahead.
She had classes to attend, assignments to complete, and a life to live outside of her dreams.
Hina's heart rate increased as she walked to school, feeling like she was being followed. She tried to shrug off the feeling and focus on her day ahead, but the sensation persisted, causing her to sweat despite the cool morning air.
As she approached the school gates, Hina couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her. She glanced around nervously, scanning the faces of the students milling about. Was it just her imagination, or was there really someone lurking in the shadows?
Lately, she had been having strange dreams that left her feeling unsettled. In these dreams, she always sensed the presence of someone else, but she could never see their face or hear their voice. It was like they were trying to communicate with her, but she couldn't understand their message.
As she walked towards her locker, Hina couldn't help but feel on edge. The feeling of being watched had become so strong that it was almost palpable. And then, she saw her. That girl was standing a few feet away, watching Hina with an intense gaze that made her skin crawl. Hina knew that something was off about this girl, but she couldn't put her finger on what it was.
Hina took another step back as the girl in front of her stepped forward. Her heart was racing, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was in some kind of danger.
As Hina stared at the girl, she couldn't help but notice the way the orange dye in her hair caught the sunlight and glimmered like flames. The leather jacket she wore looked well-worn and had a few patches sewn onto it, giving it a rebellious edge. Hina could see the intricate details of the girl's tank top, with its delicate lace trim and the way it hugged her slim figure.
Even the ripped knees of the girl's jeans seemed to have a story to tell, as if each tear held a memory and had a distinct aroma that mingled with the scent of her perfume, creating a unique and alluring scent. Hina felt a tingle in her fingertips as she looked into Mikan's piercing green eyes, which seemed to hold a hint of danger and excitement.
As she tried to shake off the feeling of familiarity, Hina noticed a rush of heat spreading across her cheeks. She realized she had been holding her breath and took in a deep inhale of air, which only intensified the scent of leather and perfume.
It wasn't just the girl's appearance that caught Hina's attention. As she stood there, her heart racing and her palms beginning to sweat, Hina could feel a strange energy emanating from her. It was like a magnetic pull, drawing her closer to the girl despite her better judgment. She could feel the prickling sensation of goosebumps on her skin, a sign that her body was on high alert.
As the girl turned to look at Hina, their eyes met and Hina felt a jolt of recognition. It was as if she knew the girl from somewhere, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. The mischievous glint in the girl's green eyes only added to the mystery, and Hina found herself both intrigued and wary of this stranger.
All the while, The girl stood before her, a smirk playing on her lips as she took in Hina's reaction. Hina couldn't help but feel like she was being sized up, assessed for her worth. It was a heady and intense sensation, and she couldn't quite tell if she was scared.
"Who...who are you?" Hina asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The girl laughed, a bright, carefree sound that sent shivers down Hina's spine. Hina's heart raced as she tried to make sense of Mikan's claims. The room around her seemed to blur, and she struggled to keep her balance. Mikan's bright, carefree laughter grated against her nerves, and she took a step back to put some distance between them.
"I'm Mikan, silly! Don't you remember me?" Mikan asked, taking a step closer.
Hina shook her head, feeling lost and confused.
"Mikan? I've never heard that name before."
Mikan's smile faded, and she stepped even closer, until they were almost touching.
"Oh, Hina. Don't you remember me? I'm you. Or at least, the version of you that you always wanted to be."
The closer she got, the more Hina felt a sense of danger emanating from her. She wanted to run, to scream, but her feet were rooted to the ground.
"You created me, Hina. Every time you take that Dream Pill, you're inviting me in. And every time you do, I get stronger,"
Mikan said, her voice low and menacing.
Hina felt a chill run down her spine at Mikan's words. Was it possible? A version of herself that existed only in her dreams? She shook her head, trying to deny what Mikan was saying. It couldn't be true. She was in control of her own mind, wasn't she?
Hina shook her head, still trying to deny the truth. "No, that can't be true. I control my mind."
Mikan just laughed, a cold, sinister sound that sent a shiver down Hina's spine. "Oh, Hina. You have no idea. You think you're in control, but you're not. Not anymore."
Hina took another step back, feeling the wall at her back. She had nowhere else to go. Fear gripped her heart as she asked,
"What...what do you want from me?"
Mikan's eyes narrowed, and Hina saw something dangerous in them. "I want what you have, Hina. I want to be in control. And I'll do whatever it takes to get it."
Hina felt a surge of panic rise in her chest. She couldn't let this...this thing take over her life. She had to fight back.
But how?
Her heart raced with fear and uncertainty. The realization that there was a version of herself that only existed in her dreams left her feeling confused and overwhelmed. She couldn't believe that Mikan had such power over her, and it terrified her to think that she might lose control of her own mind.
Mikan seemed to sense Hina's fear, and she stepped even closer, until they were only inches apart.
"You can't fight me, Hina. I'm a part of you now. And I'm not going anywhere."
Hina struggled to keep her composure as Mikan taunted her, her voice dripping with malicious intent. Every word felt like a knife twisting in Hina's gut, and she could feel her resolve weakening with every passing second.
Tears stung at the corners of her eyes as she gazed up at Mikan, feeling small and vulnerable in her presence. Hina felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes as she looked up at Mikan. She felt trapped, helpless, and alone.
But she knew she couldn't give up. Not yet.
She took a deep breath and lifted her chin, meeting Mikan's gaze with determination.
"I won't let you take over, Mikan. I'll fight you with everything I have."
As Hina spoke, her voice was strong and unwavering. She could feel the weight of Mikan's gaze upon her, Mikan's lips twisted into a sneer.
"We'll see about that, Hina. We'll see."
