Hina looked around the dimly lit locker room, trying to ground herself in the present moment. The room was quiet except for the sound of Mikan's heels clicking against the tiled floor as she approached Hina.
Hina couldn't help but feel a little intimidated by Mikan's presence.
She looked at Mikan, still feeling a mix of fear and confusion.
"How...how is this possible? How can you be a part of me?" she asked.
Mikan smirked, leaning back against the lockers. "Oh, Hina. You're such a naive little thing. Don't you know anything about alter egos?"
Hina shook her head, feeling more lost than ever. "Alter egos?"
Mikan rolled her eyes. "Yes, alter egos. It's when a person creates a different version of themselves in their mind. It's like having a split personality, only the other you exists only in your head."
Hina's eyes widened as she listened to Mikan's explanation. It sounded like something out of a movie or a book, not something that could happen in real life.
"But...why do I have an alter ego? And why do you look and act so different from me?" Hina asked, still trying to wrap her head around the concept.
Mikan shrugged, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. "I guess it's just how you see yourself deep down. You know, the version of yourself that you wish you could be. And as for why I look different...well, I guess I'm just cooler than you."
Hina scowled, feeling a surge of annoyance. "That's not true! I'm perfectly fine the way I am."
Mikan just laughed, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "Sure, Hina. Whatever you say. But you can't deny that you're a little boring sometimes. That's where I come in. I'm the fun one, the daring one. The one who's not afraid to take risks."
Hina frowned, feeling a pang of envy. She wished she could be more like Mikan, more confident and carefree. But at the same time, she didn't want to lose herself to this other version of herself. She had to find a way to regain control.
"I don't want to lose myself to you, Mikan." Hina said, determinedly.
"I want to be myself, not someone else."
Mikan raised an eyebrow. "And who exactly are you, Hina? The shy, awkward girl who's too scared to speak up for herself?"
Hina flinched at Mikan's words, feeling a surge of anger. "I am not scared! I just...I just don't want to hurt anyone's feelings."
Mikan chuckled, shaking her head. "That's your problem, Hina. You care too much about what other people think. You need to learn to let go, to be yourself without worrying about what anyone else thinks."
Hina frowned, feeling conflicted. On the one hand, she wanted to be more like Mikan, to be bold and confident. But on the other hand, she didn't want to lose herself to this alter ego.
"So...what do I do now? How do I get rid of you?" Mikan's expression darkened, and Hina felt a twinge of fear.
"You can't get rid of me, Hina. I'm a part of you now, and I'm not going anywhere. But you can learn to control me. And that's where the Dream Pill comes in."
Hina looked at Mikan, feeling more confused than ever.
"The Dream Pill? What does that have to do with anything?"
Mikan smirked. "Everything, Hina. When you take the Dream Pill, it's like opening a door to your subconscious. And that's where I live. That's where I can help you, or hurt you, depending on how you use me."
Hina felt a knot form in her stomach. She had never thought about the Dream Pill in this way before. She had always seen it as a harmless way to escape her problems and have a good night's sleep.
But now...now she wasn't so sure.
Hina's mind raced as she tried to process what Mikan was saying. Could it really be possible that she had created a separate personality within her own mind, just through her dreams?
Mikan seemed to sense Hina's confusion, and she stepped even closer, until they were almost touching.
"You're not crazy, Hina. This is real. And you need to accept it if you want to take back control of your life."
As Hina took a step back, she could feel her heart pounding in her chest. She was torn between the desire to maintain control over herself and the curiosity about what could happen if she let go and embraced her alter ego. It was a daunting prospect, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of fear about losing herself in the process.
Hina had always been someone who valued control and order. She was used to keeping a tight rein on her emotions, her thoughts, and her actions, and the idea of relinquishing that control was unsettling. But at the same time, there was a part of her that yearned for something more, something wild and exciting that she had never allowed herself to experience.
As Mikan spoke, Hina couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building inside her. The idea of letting go and embracing her wild side was both exhilarating and terrifying. She wasn't sure if she was ready to take that leap, but she knew that she couldn't ignore this part of herself forever.
Hina nodded slowly, feeling a sense of determination settling over her. She knew that this was going to be a long and difficult journey, but she was ready to face it head-on.
"Okay" Hina said again, more firmly this time. "I'm ready to try."
Mikan's eyes sparkled with excitement as she leaned closer to Hina.
"That's what I like to hear!! We're going to have so much fun together, Hina. You won't regret this."
Hina nodded, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation. She couldn't believe she was actually considering taking a pill to enter her own subconscious mind and meet her alter ego. But something inside her was urging her to take the leap.
"Okay, so what do I do now?" Hina asked, eager to get started.
"Eat dream pills before you go to bed tonight," she said
"And then, just focus on me. Think about what you want me to do for you, and I'll be there." Mikan grinned, looking more like her usual self again.
"Great! I can't wait to see what we can accomplish together. Just remember, Hina, you're in charge. Don't let me take over completely. We're in this together."
As Hina made her decision to take control of Mikan, she couldn't help but feel a mixture of emotions. On one hand, she was excited to finally let loose and have some fun, to experience life the way Mikan did. But on the other hand, she was scared of what that might mean.
Would she lose herself completely to this alter ego? Would she be able to handle the consequences of her actions?
Hina also couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal. How could Mikan have kept this a secret from her for so long? Why had she waited until now to reveal herself? Hina felt a sense of anger towards Mikan, but at the same time, she couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards her other self.
The Dream Pill loomed large in Hina's mind, and she couldn't help but feel both fascinated and terrified by the prospect of using it. What if something went wrong? What if she couldn't control Mikan, and she wreaked havoc on her life? But at the same time, Hina knew that this was her only chance to take control and live life on her own terms.
As she walked away from Mikan, Hina couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She knew that things were about to get complicated, and that she was in for a wild ride. But for the first time in a long time, she felt alive. She was ready to embrace the unknown, and to see where this journey would take her.
