Where is she? Where is she?
His phone was held with one hand and drummed on the other.
Where is she? Where is she?
Why is she not answering my texts?
"How is it going?" Stella texted him to check up on Darren and Vanessa.
"It is going good if it was two hours ago." Darren typed. No. I can not say that. I know I have been talking to her ever since we met. We do kind of have a grandson-grandmother relationship for two people who recently met we are kind of close. What do I say? I mean, girls are always fashionably late. At least, the pretty ones are. He canceled the text.
"She is not here yet and the concert has started like a long time ago, but that is okay." Darren bit his tongue. It is the truth. I know something is probably happening, but we barely know each other. It would be impolite to ask.
Send.
Received.
Open.
Left on read.
A minute went by.
Two minutes went by.
"I am so sorry" He saw on his notification centre.
Did something happen. No. That is Stella texting.
Wait. I have a brain.
He clicked on the message.
Swiped right.

"Why are you sorry? Did something happen?" Darren typed.
Send.

Opened.
"Yes, but I can not say." Yikes. "She will be here soon, please do not be mad."
Yikes.
He did not understand.
To him, everything was supposed to be perfect.
She did not understand.
To her, everything was supposed to be right.
A few minutes later, she arrived.
They gave an awkward hug.
The good kind of awkward.
The awkward that could mean something could be there.
"I am so sorry" She whispered.
"It is okay" He combed his hair with his hand.
"It is okay" He slid his phone into his back right pocket.
"I am so excited for this concert." She moved her hair to the left. "Are you ready?"
"I am ready. This is going to be fun."
"Because I am here, but the band is kind of cool too so who knows? Maybe, I will have to allow them make their part of the fun." She joked.
"Hey, what about me?" He teased.
Stella had helped them score one of the best seats in the concert hall. Can we all take a moment to agree that she is so cool?
They headed to their seat.
The concert was a blast.
They had so much fun.
They sang. Smiled. Danced.
When they got home, the first thing they saw on their notification centre was a text message from each other.
"I am glad I came" He texted.
"I am glad I came too. It was fun." She texted back.
They slept happily.
They slept because the lady sang.
