The demon realm was a parallel dimension, a different world where demons lived. On the other hand, the underground demon land was a place in this same world, inside the desert. It was like a demon country that is mostly underground.
As they traveled, they encountered many dangers, including fierce demons and treacherous terrains. The closer they got to their destination, the more demons they encountered. But with their upgraded equipment and Naelina's newfound powers, they were able to overcome these obstacles and reach the entrance to the demon land.
It was a bottomless pit and they had to climb down through a system of interlocked caves where demons lived. The lower they went, the stronger the demons and purer their bloodlines were, and the denser the dark magic energy became.
While going down, they were greeted by a bustling city filled with demons of all shapes and sizes. They were initially intimidated by the fierce creatures, but soon realized that many of them were friendly and willing to help, and others laughed at the idea of collecting the three artifacts stating they are just myths and they don't exist. The trio did not reveal the fact that they already had one of the artifacts in fear of getting unwanted attention.
They searched for information on the artifacts and soon learned that there was powerful demon lords that lived for centuries in this demon land; they were the trio's best bet for getting the information they wanted. The trio knew that they might have to fight these lords if they discovered that the book of Zalzithar was already in their possession, and Naelina tried as much as possible to hide her powers.
While searching for the demon lords, they journeyed deeper into the demon land and encountered various demons, some of whom were eager to help in exchange for a reward, and some were just not interested in talking to them. After several days of traveling, they finally found the first demon lord. He lived in an underground castle, in one of the many underground demon cities.
The demon lord's underground castle was a massive, imposing structure carved out of black stone. It was located deep beneath the surface of the desert, and was only accessible through a series of twisting, treacherous caverns. The castle was surrounded by a moat of molten lava, and was guarded by hordes of demonic minions.
They went to the castle and asked if they could meet with the demon lord, offering some demonic artifacts they found at the ruins of Zalzithar. The robot butler of the castle made them wait in a huge waiting area. A few moments later, the demon lord appeared.
The demon lord himself was a towering figure, towering over even the tallest of the tall demons. He had a mane of fire-red hair, and eyes that glowed with an unearthly, fiery light. He was known as Lord Valtorik, and was known to be one of the most powerful and feared demons in this place. He was a master of fire magic and had a powerful army of fire demons at his disposal. He was also known to be an expert in the art of war and had a reputation for being ruthless and cunning in battle.
The demon lord was intrigued by an artifact they offered. It was a dark magic wand, that while powerful, was not something they needed. Lord Valtorik was also curious about their quest and wanted to know where they heard about those artifacts. So they created a story about a desert nomad they met, who sold them some artifacts and told them about the legendary demonic artifacts. Valtorik was convinced by the story, because those artifacts were widely known, so it was not a farfetched thing to happen. So he offered to help them, but the artifacts they offered wasn't enough, he also needed their help in a task he had. He told them that he knew of the artifacts they sought and that the orb of Nutherael could be found in the ancient city of Neferion a bit deeper underground. But it was in a heavily guarded treasury vault. "The artifact itself holds no power, it's just a useless orb," said lord Valtorik, "it is kept in the vault of Neferion for its legend, like an art piece," he continued, " I could acquire it for you in exchange for a certain price," he said with a grin on his face. Our heroes felt uneasy, "and what is that price?" asked Zaruya in a fearless tone.
"I have a rival demon lord, Lord Valzareth, who seeks to overthrow me and take my territory. I need you to take him out for me, assassinate him," Valtorik replied. "He is currently holed up in his fortress, deep in the demon realm. If you can defeat him and bring me his head, I will give you the orb of Nutherael and any information I have on the other artifacts," he said.
Naelina, Zaruya, and Glasses looked at each other. They knew that this would be a dangerous task, but they also wanted the orb. They agreed to help Valtorik, and set out to find Lord Valzareth and his fortress.
The fortress of Lord Valzareth was located deep in the demon realm, in a place where the sky was always red and the ground was always black. It was a massive structure, made of obsidian and black steel, with towers and spires that reached up to the high ceiling of the cave. The walls were guarded by demons of all shapes and sizes, and the gates were made of thick iron bars that seemed to be unbreakable.
The trio knew that they would have to be careful if they wanted to infiltrate the fortress. They decided to split up and come up with a plan. Glasses went to work on creating a diversion, while Zaruya and Naelina came up with a way to sneak in.
After several hours of planning, the trio put their plan into action. Glasses created a loud noise that drew the attention of the guards, while Zaruya and Naelina snuck in through a secret passage that Glasses discovered. They made their way through the fortress, avoiding patrols and guards, until they finally reached the inside.
But as they were wandering around searching for their target, they were caught by Lord Valzareth's guards. They were thrown into the dungeon, where they were confronted by Lord Valzareth himself.
"Who sent you and what do you want with me?" he growled, his eyes glowing with anger.
"I am Vaelorin, and I want the orb of Nutherael," said a voice coming from Naelina's bracelet, her voice calm and steady.
"Vaelorin? The apprentice of master Zalzithar? I thought you were dead," Lord Valzareth said, his eyes widening in surprise.
"I may be dead, but my spirit lives on," she said, as Vaelorin materialized from the demon spirit ring in a virtual form.
Vaelorin and Lord Valzareth knew each other from back in the days, Lord Valzareth was Vaelorin's friend's apprentice, and he knew that he had to help her with her quest, as she was his senior. So he decided to acquire the orb for her without asking anything in return. The duo were released, and a few days later, the orb was bought by lord Valzareth and given to them.
"As for the heart of Tuniir, legend says that it is possessed by an ancient demon dragon, but it's only a legend, no one knows anything about that demonic heart," the demon lord said. "And finally, the book of Zalzithar was said to be hidden above the ground, somewhere in the desert. Vaelorin, you should know better than me about the whereabouts of the book, since Zalzithar was your master," said Valzareth. Of course he did not know they had already acquired the book. "But I believe that, like the orb, all these three artifacts are just important for their historical significance, they can't be activated by anyone other than their masters, and their powers must have decayed with time." And with that Valzareth bid farewell and good luck for the trio and for Vaelorin. The team thanked the Lord and left his fortress, ready to continue their journey.
After they have left lord Valzareth's fortress, they wanted to venture deeper underground, until they reached a more secluded place where Naelina could try using the orb without anyone discovering their presence.
As they descended deeper into the demon land, the air grew thicker and the light grew dimmer. They could hear the distant sound of water dripping and the occasional scurrying of demonic rats. They reached a maze of ancient ruins, abandoned for centuries.
Finally, they found a small chamber that seemed to be undisturbed. Glasses set up a small camp while Naelina and Zaruya examined the orb. Naelina was hesitant at first, but with a deep breath, she tried activating the artifact. At first, nothing happened, but then, as she was coached by Vaelorin, she felt a strange energy flow through her body. She closed her eyes and concentrated, and soon she was able to sense the presence of dark magic energy in the area.
Dark magic energy is a powerful and mysterious force that is said to be the source of all dark magic. It is often described as feeling like a heavy weight, pulling at the user's soul and mind. It can be used to cast spells, summon demons, and even control the wills of weaker beings. When used correctly, dark energy can be a powerful tool, allowing the user to accomplish incredible feats. However, it also poses a great risk to the user, as it can be addictive and corrupting, leading to a loss of control and possibly even madness. Those who are not skilled in its use or are not strong enough to resist its pull, will be consumed by it. It's a dangerous tool and it's not something to play around with.
Zaruya was amazed, "I can't believe it, you can control the dark energy," she exclaimed.
Naelina smiled, "I guess I have the orb of Nutherael to thank for that," she said.
Glasses was also impressed, "This is incredible, Naelina. With this power, you can do so much," he said.
Naelina nodded, "Yes, but I must be careful. The orb is powerful, but it also has the potential to be dangerous," she warned.
The orb of Nutherael is a powerful and ancient artifact that is said to have been created by the demon god Nutherael. It is said to have been forged in the fires of the abyss, and imbued with immense dark energy. The orb is a dark purple color, and is about the size of a human head. It is made of a mysterious, dark metal that appears to absorb light. The surface of the orb is covered in intricate, swirling patterns that seem to be alive with dark energy. It was said to be able to grant the user immense control over dark energy, allowing them to wield it with great precision. It was said to have a dark aura emanating from it, which made anyone who looked at it feel uneasy. The orb was a powerful tool and it was said that whoever possessed it would have the power to influence the wills of weaker beings who possessed dark magic energy.
With the orb in their possession, they still had to find the heart of Tuniir. But for now, they were content in knowing that they made a huge step forward in their quest.
After a few weeks of training in the chamber in the maze, one day, as Naelina was holding the orb in her hand, she could feel a surge of dark energy flowing through her body. She closed her eyes and focused on the orb, trying to gain control over the energy. At first, it was difficult, the energy felt wild and unpredictable, but as she concentrated harder, she could feel herself starting to gain control.
Suddenly, Naelina opened her eyes and let out a powerful scream. A wave of dark energy burst forth from her body, destroying everything in its path. Zaruya and Glasses tried to run, but they were caught in the blast and thrown back. When the energy dissipated, they saw that Naelina was standing in the middle of a large crater, surrounded by destruction.
Naelina looked down at her hands, confused and shocked by what just happened. She could feel the power of the orb coursing through her veins, but she didn't know how to control it. She was starting to feel consumed by the energy, as if it was taking over her mind and body.
Zaruya and Glasses approached her cautiously, they were afraid of what Naelina could do with her new powers. Naelina looked at them, her eyes filled with fear and uncertainty. She didn't know what was happening to her, but she knew that she needed help to control the orb and its power.
From that moment on, Naelina's journey became much more dangerous and complicated, she was struggling to keep her sanity and not get consumed by the power of the orb. She needed to find a way to master it before it was too late.
Vaelorin suggested that Naelina should try to use the orb in a controlled environment, such as a sealed chamber, to prevent her from losing control and potentially causing harm to her friends or herself. She also suggested that Naelina should take some time to level up her power and learn more about the orb's abilities and how to control them before attempting to use it again.
The sealed chamber that Vaelorin suggested was a small room in the maze, made of dark stone, with a single door made of heavy iron. Inside, Naelina, with the guidance of Vaelorin, carved various symbols and runes into the walls, floor, and ceiling, and imbued them with magic which will help contain and control the dark magic energy. The chamber was also equipped with various devices and instruments to monitor and measure the energy levels and the user's condition, all built by Glasses.
Naelina began her training with caution and dedication. She spent hours in the chamber, learning to control and harness the power of the orb. She learned to manipulate dark energy to create powerful shields, blasts of energy, and even open portals to the demon realm to summon lesser demons. But she also had to learn to control her emotions and impulses, to prevent the orb's power from consuming her. As Naelina grew more proficient in her use of the orb, she became more confident and powerful.
Now the trio had two options, either keep going deeper underground, or they go back to the surface. Going deeper excited Zaruya, but Naelina said they could come back when she is more proficient in the dark arts. Right now it's way too risky to keep going, knowing that the further they go down, the stronger the demons are and the denser the dark magic energy is. So, they decided to return to the surface and continue their journey.
