Chapter 15 Anger unleashed
We finally got back from are lunch and seen Popiri being guarded by a water golem so we knew Zera had found him. But why did she not try and kill him yet was the question. So we sat there and waited for Zera to return. I wasn’t sure what my student was planning but we had already decided she would pick Popiri’s fate.
We sat on the ground for around an hour before finally hearing some ruffling in the branches and leaves surrounding us. Zera came darting through with a jar of some red substance, she quickly opened up the jar and shoved the substance down that vampire noble’s throat. The vampire bulked up a decent amount and their pale complexion went from bruised and sickly to milky snow. Realizing what she had just done I paused for a moment confused as the vampire shattered the shackles and began to breathe very heavily.
“You absolute ***************** ***************** *****************” The vampire noble shouted in puffing fury at my student who smacked him in the face with a dueling request cloth.
The vampire smirked at my student with a wide grin as he instantly tried to grapple Zera but she managed to knock him back with some wind. She began to chant something as the water golem shifted from water to ice as it leaped into the air towards the vampire who soon took to the sky narrowly avoiding the golem. It seemed like finally after the narrow miss of her ice golem it set off her final straw as she soon manifested her head wings and back wings darting into the sky absolutely seething in rage as her eyes were bloodshot and her blood lust leaked around the entire forest.
My student seemed to give up on her natural fighting style of staying back to fire a barrage of spells but instead incorporating close combat with it as she sent a flurry of water discs and ice shards. While she charged ahead with a shield of wind while the vampire gathered himself creating blood tendrils to gather balance in the air then firing the tendrils ahead. As the tendrils of blood went towards Zera she cut apart every single one but as she neared her enemy the vampire vanished through the chaos. Soon I noticed a small little bat sneaking behind my unaware student. The little bat snapped down on her shoulder blade draining her of blood. Aggravated by being cut off guard she created an ice dagger stabbing at the bat as it retreated with the blood it had gained from the sneak attack. Returning to a human form with red wings that were curved in black pieces that made them almost demonic. The vampire flew proudly now even mocking Zera “you think you can defeat me the almighty lord Popiri the once second hand to the fallen vampire king! Ha foolish Demi!”
No longer in the mood to deal with such arrogance Zera charged at the vampire with break neck speed coating herself in boiling water and searing wind destroying the hand that vampire tried to block with. The vampire seemed dumb founded before grinning as his hand restored itself glowing a crimson red. Zera began to conjure a giant rapier to stab her foe but was knocked away further into the sky by a simple front kick as the vampire sent a barrage of bloody tendrils and even some with spikes at jutting out of the sides of them as they whacked Zera as if she was a terrible potato sack. The tendrils soon started taking in the blood taken from the spikes as the tendrils returned to the vampire noble. Zera looked exhausted and tired but unwilling to give up on this fight she created a giant legion of water dragons. Which clearly got the attention of the people in town from all the people we could hear screaming in the distance. I was also a little scared at how much magic Zera seemed to have at her disposal. The vampire froze and looked like his real age if he were human. The vampire then in a last ditch effort reentered his bat form to charge at Zera and avoid the giant dragons. But as he charged the dragons disappeared and I soon realized it was illusion magic but it was too late for the little bat to escape my students' trap. As she created a water and wind cage around the little bat who tried to escape but was unable to free themself. Zera smirked as she turned it into an ice cage and smugly said “I’m gonna keep him in check from now on.” descending to the ground she also said “sorry about my temper I think I’ll be fine now.”
