A Flying Person Caught in Real Life Sparks Wonder and Fear

BOSTON, MA. - Comics, video games, and movies about superhumans went from fantasy to reality.
On a snowy night of December 24, at the financial district of Boston, witnesses looked up and saw an unidentified man standing on the roof of Langham Hotel. The unidentified man jumped off the building and started flying near the hotel, then flew out of sight. No one could explain it because this was the first time they were seeing an extraordinary phenomenon.
"This is just simply amazing," said Mr. Jones, 43, of Hyde Park. "When I was a little boy, I read comics about characters with superpowers, and when someone in real life displays them, I felt like a kid again."
When he was a child, Mr. Jones was an avid comic book reader; his favorite comic books were DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Fantastic Four, Superman, Batman: Year One, and Spider-Man. Mr. Jones was in the back of the crowd, observing the supernatural event.
"Like any child, they had dreams of flying through the skies, seeing the world from below. I might not be able to fly, but seeing that, gives me joy."
Not only a quinquagenarian like Mr. Jones liked the idea of superpowers in real life, many younger individuals also were amazed at the spectacle.
"It was so cool," said Kalilah, 16, of Dorchester. "It's like I'm in the 'MCU', but real life!"
Kalilah watched the MCU, aka Marvel Cinematic Universe, where she became a fan since she watched the first film, Iron Man.
"I wonder if the man has a superhero name. If so, what will his name be?"
Unlike Mr. Jones, Kalilah wasn't outside to witness the event; instead, she was at home. One of her best friends sent the video to her via Tiktok. The internet also had something to say about the new revelation.
Users like JDawgg on Twitter said, "This is so fake; it's just some VFX that someone filtered into a real location to make it look real."
While users like JoeWhipley56 said, "We are living in a new time. Seeing someone that could fly like that, what would become of superhero movies, games, comics, and shows? Does it mean they're meaningless?"
Despite the mild takes on the event, one of the few had a more serious thought on the matter.
"This isn't something we should take lightly," Senator Joshua Danielson of Boston told reporters. "We, not as a community, but as a nation, should be wary of something like that."
Senator Joshua Danielson was informed of the event by one of his colleagues. When he watched the video of the flying man, he was gravely concerned.
"I have a bad feeling this person would use his powers to take the law into his hands. We can't have someone like him influence people like that. I think it's best we go after him."
Despite the concerns from the senator, the citizens like Kalilah had opposite thoughts.
"I think they should leave him alone," Kalilah commented to reporters. "He's just flying and existing; he's not hurting anyone. If I have powers, I want to learn how to control them."
"I think it's better to do it in the woods," declared Mr. Jones. "Still incredible, though."
(Hi guys! I hope you like this short piece! I want to try out epistolary writing by making the short story into a news article. Also epistolary writing means the works of fiction that are written in the form of letters or other documents. And it adds greater realism to the fictional piece! Comment down below on your thoughts)
