INVESTIGATOR RAMIREZ:

After ten minutes of discreetly checking the city, we found a few injured people, helped them, and called the ambulance. We continue our walk In silence before she starts humming.

"How grumpy?" Kara asks, nudging my arm with the intent to annoy me as we walk.

"Don't do that again," I exclaim, trying not to get angry.

She rolls her eyes and says "Okay, grumpy man."

The spot we are In Is open, not far away from the park. Suddenly, we both notice a group of investigators fighting two monsters. She runs toward the fight, signaling "Come!"

The place looks as If It is almost deserted, the nearest pharmacy Is crushed and ruined to pieces, only a broken light flickers from the inside of It. There's smoke too, pollution. We will need around two months to recover and If not, then five but there's still damage.

Not much time left. I tell myself In my mind as I watch the fight unfold. We are not far away from the center of the city, more investigators start to attack and defend the defenseless today.  Unfortunately, the city will temporarily be a fighting ground. I shall prepare myself for the terror, but Is there something I am not used to already? I don't think so.

Martha smiles with satisfaction, exclaiming "Glad I choose blades over guns." 

She Is tall, toned, and very agile. Her half-brown and white straight hair which Is tied in a low ponytail shines like her blades. Martha keeps her sharp weapons everywhere under belts, hair braids, and special hidden pockets. She runs toward the wolf man, running in circles as she throws blades at It when Rehan follows her like a slave, holding the gun. The first two-edged blade strikes the eye, the second: the neck, third: the chest, all in seconds. The creature launches toward her but she dodges the attack In seconds before taking another blade from her belt and throwing It In Its back. The creature whimpers In pain before striking again, angrier than ever.  The fact that she Is the leader’s nephew stands out.

As the half-wolf monster launches toward them, Rehan shoots It straight In the head but It doesn't terminate it right away. This one Is stronger, not a typical wolf-like creature. Might as well have the power to regenerate to a degree. I watch with my hands behind my back how Investigator Kennedy joins In behind the monster's back, shooting It until It's down on the ground and finished. Martha turns around to face Rehan and says, clapping with her hands "Nice job, team!" 

Who does she think she Is? She didn’t even take It down by herself. Annoyed, I take my eyes off them as I see that Kara managed to corner one of the Blue Serpents clan members with four of our people. 

"Your reputation Is over, buddy." Kara points out with a laugh as she looks at the Blue Serpents clan member. Before the investigators are about to shoot, he throws a bomb on the ground which releases smoke that blinds us for a few seconds. The smoke weakens the people. I look at where the clan member was cornered but he disappeared. They look around, shocked to see that the enemy Is nowhere to be seen.

"Of all gods..." Kara murmurs as her eyes widen, still fixated on the spot where the enemy was, petrified In amazement.  Shock and anger boil my veins. How? What kind of weapon did he use? Their clan Isn't supposed to be this powerful, only the Marosiji Psayche clan.  Did they help the-? Shock fills my body as I realize what might have happened.
