Bacterial Ides of March

This one’s a bit niche, but it’s the basis for my thesis project so I’m biased.
Bacteria in dense environments compete with one another by stabbing each other with toxic proteins (here the Pac-Man shape). Clonal cells are protected by a matching immunity protein (the triangles) while other foreign bacteria are inhibited. So here E. coli is just being dramatic for fun, they’ll be fine.
Posting a bit late for the Ides of March but I just couldn’t resist this joke.
