Observations: On a microscopic level, the temperature of a system is the average kinetic energy of the molecules or atoms within it. The subject's ability allows her to add energy to the system, increasing its temperature as well as manipulating atoms and molecules in range to create combustion. This translates into the creation of mighty fire and/or powerful explosions. However, her ability does not allow her to extract energy from a system, hence reducing its temperature, unlike cryokinesis-based abilities which do the exact opposite.

The third phase of the subject's state grants her complete control over thermal equilibrium as well as an enhancement to the subject ability's destructive power. At first, the TEC seems simple and almost useless, however, if used correctly its destructive potential is amazing.]

The tip of the icicle-like spear exploded in a mighty ball of fire, totally decimating Adam's force field. A little bit ahead, Seth tripped and fell to the floor due to the explosion's shock wave. As he stood up he turned around and saw his mother attack in all his glory. Behind him stood the icicle-like pillar rising imposingly to the sky, and at its tip roared a mighty ball of fire. As he stared speechless at the attack he gained confidence and began running again 'I need to do as mom said, I won't let her down, she's probably still holding back because she's afraid I'll get caught in her attacks' he looked ahead with determination, a little spark leaving one of his eyes 'I won't be a burden.'

From another side, Mayla stood with a stretched hand to the explosion. Suddenly, she fell to one knee bringing her hand to her mouth as she began coughing, her wings flickering in and out of reality. When she stopped coughing she looked at her hand, blood could be seen on it.

"Not yet, I can't allow myself to stop now. Not until Seth is safe" she said as she stood up again, a determined look could be seen on her face while she wiped off a small trail of blood on one side of her mouth with one hand.

'Anyway, I need to focus on getting rid of the dome barrier that they placed so Seth can get out of here. I doubt that Wagner was the one placing it since that would leave a trace behind that could be tracked to him. That only leaves the only soldier I didn't kill' She turned back to the direction where she had left the soldiers. However, 'Impossible', her eyes widened in shock. When she turned around, besides the only soldier she hadn't unleashed a deadly attack on, she saw the other soldiers standing up again and picking up their weapons. The body parts, skin, legs, and arms missing, were regrowing from what seemed to be a kind of black mud. The spear user that was almost cut in half could be seen walking again as the cut that bisected his torso started disappearing. As they healed they moved again into battle formation, protecting the lightning esper. 'So now that I know who's the one placing the force field they won't let me get to him. I don't know how much time they can receive before dying but I know that such a healing method has to cost energy, if I land such an attack on the lightning esper he won't be able to maintain the dome. I just need to pass through his companions again'. She thought as the soldiers retook battle stances.
