Nikki turns to me and says, "Soooooo you like her?" "W-what g-gave you t-that idea?" I ask, turning cherry red. "Lots of things. You blush around her, you stammer around her, you seem different about her, the works." she answers me, grinning. "Fine! Fine! You got me. So what if I like her? I just broke up with my boyfriend who I've been dating for years and she barely even knows me!" I say, turning even more red, if that's even possible. "Um, I don't think so. She told me about what happened during your lecture today. She sat right next to you! Her best friend was sitting in that room, and she chose to sit next to you of all people!" Nikki explains, then pauses and says, "Look, I may be aromantic and asexual, but that doesn't mean I'm blind when it comes to love. Trust me, I can spot love, especially between my two besties!" "I didn't mean to imply that you know nothing about love!" I say, feeling guiltly. "I know, I'm just messing with you!" Nikki says and smiles. "But wouldn't it be weird? I mean, we live together now. It's not like I can keep switching dorm rooms every time I fall in love and break up with someone." I say. "How about you give it some time? Just get to know each other, then you can figure out your feelings in depth." Nikki says, and leaves. Kat enters and says, "What were you guys talking about? It seemed pretty serious." "Oh, um, er, nothing much. Just my living situation and stuff. She wanted to make sure I was okay after what happened." I say and steal a glance at her. She blushes. "Was it hard?" she asks. "Well, I mean, yeah. But he never was the best boyfriend anyway. He had issues." I respond.
I am so happy that we're this far along with the story! I am going to contact some of my friends who can draw really well and see if they can draw some visuals of the characters for you! Enjoy the story! <3
20 year old enby Abbie Keller is just starting a new chapter of their life. They were kicked out of the house at age 15 when they came out as nonbinary and pansexual, and started living with their best friend, Jackson. Shortly after Abbie moved in, Jackson asked them out. They want to go to medical school and become a doctor, not study English Arts with their boyfriend. Will Abbie break up with Jackson and achieve her dreams or will Jackson break things off? What caused these two to break up and stop contacting each other? "What Next?" tells the story of how Abbie learns to live without Jackson, and finds new love as well.
