In the study
“So you haven’t fixed your issue yet, still living in your fantasy world and throwing tantrums like a child?” My father said.
“Tantrums? I can show you a tantrum.” Fier said.
“Fier, I’ll handle this. “ I said, stepping ahead of him.
“Good keep your dog in its place.” My father said.
“No, it's because if anything, I’ll be throwing the tantrum.” The room suddenly dropped in temperature. “Because no one talks to Fier that way.”
The room went cold and frost started forming on the windows. I saw my father shivering before me. “You think I am going to stand by quietly, while you insult the man I love, the friends I care about, the person who raised me?” I stepped closer to him, freezing his shoes to the floor with ice.
“Kalt, what is going on?” My father said, confused “This prank has gone on too far, tell Amaya to turn the heat back on!”
Fier lit up his hands to keep himself warm, “ Kalt that's enough, now you’ve made your point on his place now.”
“I don't think he understands the pain and torment I’ve gone through to get to this point.” I unzip my jacket and let it drop to the floor. “ Father look at your child,” I freeze his hands to his desk as I show him the scars on my arms, “ This is what was happening before I met him, I did this to feel some sense of control over my life that you took away. So you want to take away the person who makes me feel happy and the people who respect me to the point that we're a team and plan to change this world, then we're done here I turned 18 today and as stated in my mother’s will this house, the family assets, and the company are mine, so leave, or I will call the cops and have you removed from the premises.”
I take the ice off of him and step towards Fier and hug him, “I’m sorry you had to see that.”
“It’s ok, you know I’m not going anywhere.”
“Thank you,” I say, tearing up.
“Also,” Fier says while picking me up, “ Why didn’t you say it was your birthday?”
Fier then opens the door and walks out.
“It's not something I’ve enjoyed celebrating as it's also the anniversary of my mother’s death, she died five years ago. I typically spend the time that I have to myself at her grave.”
“Why don’t you take me to meet her then?”
“Wait what?”
“I bet she was a lovely woman who cared about you deeply.”
“She was, she was so sweet.”
Suddenly the door to the study was shattered across the hallway. Kalt’s father stepped out with his arms contorting wildly at his sides before stopping as jagged, purple limbs.
“What the absolute fuck is going on?” Fier said as he turned around still holding me.
“So you insolent brats want to play ball then let's go,” My father said launching his arms at us.
Fier started dodging the arms, while holding me, “Toss me you’ll be faster without me.”
“Where?” Fier said.
“The wall, I’ll try to freeze him,” I said.
“Alright sounds good.” Fier then threw me at the wall and I froze my hand and foot there.
“Alright, it's time to chill out.” I then started to freeze the wall down to where my father was until his arms were frozen.
“Ok, what the fuck is going on,” Fier said walking over to me.
“I have no idea,” I said, walking over to him.
