The forest began to change; the leaves of the trees became denser. Annabell had the impression that some trees became larger, and the environment became more and more frightening. She had the feeling of being in a dark forest in the middle of the night. Even the flowers seemed to have changed their appearance.
"Run away from the rabbit, but go straight to his lair." Annabell stared at the forest with an angry look. The princess lost focus on the landscape and looked at the redhead. Ezariel seemed more irritated than usual.
"The princess better find a place to hide. We don't want any more royal blood to be spilled." Ezariel pointed to her own cheek and laughed. The blood on the princess's cheek had dried up, leaving only a small mark. The white skin was red around the cut.
"I don't need your advice." she couldn't stand any of his comments. The anger at being hit by that arrow returned, and the princess's gaze became more irritated. She turned her face and crossed her arms in front of her body. "You should worry about yourself." Annabell turned to get out of there. "You'll find your own way."
"Don't go around like it's a walk in the par." Ezariel's voice sounded like it as he held Annabell's arm and pulled her back.
"As if I were the dumb and helpless princess." the platinum-haired girl pulled her arm hard and walked away.
She controlled her will to continue the discussion. On the other hand, Ezariel seemed to enjoy it. In the end, only she would be irritated.
Annabell grumbled as she walked. She was sure he wouldn't be good company. Her original goal was to get in there, get the rabbit, and go away. Due to the current circumstances, she had to think of something else. For Annabell, having to listen to a comment from Ezariel every second was far removed from her reserve plans.
She began to walk through the forest, and branches and leaves beat against her clothes and body, as if they were purposely there. The ends ran against the fabric of her dress, making small tears in the cloth. Annabell was beginning to get angry about the situation.
"Find the rabbit hole and get 900 points! Those points can go to hell." Annabell grumbled to herself. "I expected at least the first week to be something normal." To her unhappiness, the "healthy" competition was taken very seriously.
The woman stopped walking. Next to her, a strange noise approached. It sounded like an animal, huge, and running.
The sound of leaves and branches breaking grew louder and louder. At times, Annabell thought the trees were being snapped in half. The noise drew closer and closer, and Annabell peered in the direction it was coming from.
"Shit!" the princess exclaimed as she scurried to the side, taking cover behind some nearby bushes.
Out of the source of the noise emerged a massive rabbit, monstrous. Its fur was spiked, its eyes bulged and glowed a deep red, and its massive mouth was filled with terrifying teeth. Drool dripped from its jaws, giving the creature a monstrous appearance.
Annabell widened her eyes in shock, and her breathing quickened as she fought the urge to scream. She had never seen anything like this before; creatures like this were not common in the White Kingdom.
Behind the huge rabbit, several men appeared, attempting to attack the creature. Annabell tried to understand when they had gone from "Find the Burrow" to "Kill the Rabbit." Surely, the princess couldn't be so insane as to go after such a formidable foe.
"Five rabbits... one score for each rabbit." the white-haired one said with a smile. "Well, they didn't literally say that the first game was over."
Annabell realized that she had been witnessing some kind of twisted game, but she couldn't quite make sense of the madness unfolding before her.
The boys attempted to attack the massive animal in various ways, but its fur resembled armor, and nothing seemed to work. The beast grew increasingly agitated.
Suddenly, a powerful wave of energy struck the group, rendering them immobile. Something held them to the ground, preventing any movement. The weapons they carried were thrown aside. Everyone anticipated an attack from the beast, but it remained motionless. Its red eyes were no longer as bright or furious.
After the Great War of the Wild, the people of the Royal Family of the White Kingdom were rewarded for their enormous efforts at the front line of the war. No one knows how or who was responsible for something like this. After that, all future generations of the White Royal family developed special gifts.
"Watch out, it could be another rabbit." Annabell recognized Dominick’s voice. She looked at the energy sphere in her hand. The sphere controlled all the energy that kept them trapped.
Annabell, emerged from the bushes, saw the people there, and waved. Her hands went through her wires, and she was very confused about what she was doing there.
"Hi... sorry for... stealing from you?" Annabell found herself embarrassed and confused. " I'll release you soon. I just need to... save the rabbit? To be honest, I don’t even know what I’m doing!" The princess laughed, completely nervous.
Dominick’s expression was a mixture of anger and concern. They had heard the announcement, but the knight did not imagine that Annabell was still there. Everyone imagined that the Academy would have the slightest conscience and take the princess out.
"Do not go near him!" The man screamed when he saw that the princess intended to approach the animal. Annabell ignored Dominick’s warning, she wasn’t stupid. The animal was calming down, and she just needed a few more seconds, and soon the rabbit would return to its normal form. The princess approached slowly. Beasts were a bit more complicated than ordinary animals, so she needed to have a little more patience.
"Annabell! Get out of there!" The concern in Dominick’s voice became increasingly evident. "Release us! Annabell!"
The princess ignored Dominick’s voice and with a flick of her hand, she silenced him. The more noise made, the more likely the beast would become irritated. Annabell lightly touched the rabbit's fur with the tips of her fingers, trying to convey a sense of security.
"Annabell!" The men shouted in unison.
The same whistle as before was heard, and Annabell closed her eyes, expecting to feel the burn of another cut. But to her surprise, nothing happened. Perhaps Ezariel wasn't so crazy to hurt her in front of a crowd.
Suddenly, a loud cry pierced the air. Annabell opened her eyes and tried to help the beast, but as soon as she took a step forward, a hole opened up beneath her feet.
She fell into darkness and desperately searched for something to cling to, but all she could see were earth and roots. Her body slammed into the walls of the hole, causing scratches all over her skin.
The same cannon as before was heard, but the announcement that followed was different:
"Black Rose Dorm has earned 1400 points. Congratulations to Ezariel for the achievement. Activities scored: Run away from the Rabbit and Rabbit Hunt."
