Hello beautiful humans. This is a bit of a long one, but I hope you enjoy it.

Levi’s P.O.V
Calling…
Kayden 🤤
I kept declining his call, but he kept trying. This was his fifth time calling, but I didn’t feel like answering him. Everything hurts, and I don’t want to think anymore. I texted my mother that I would be turning my phone off and that if she needed anything, to call Jace or the house phone. I got up from the door and entered the bathroom to wash my face. I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes were red and puffy, my nose was red, and my lips were swollen. Now you may ask Levi, how do your lips swell from crying? well, to answer your question… I have no idea. They just do, and it looks like I got stung by a bee.
I washed my face with cold water, hoping it would reduce the redness that was all over my face. It has been a while since I’ve cried this much, the last time it happened was about 5 years ago when my grandmother moved away to another state, and now here I am shedding tears because a boy broke my heart. It feels ridiculous, but now I understand all the heartbreak songs.
When I heard the front door close, I left the bathroom with a towel, drying the water droplets and trying to escape my skin. Jace must’ve arrived. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I opened the door to face Jace, who looked like me with swollen eyes, a red nose, and swollen lips. My stomach dropped when I saw that something terrible must’ve happened because Jace didn’t cry.
“What happened?” I asked. Jace looked at me and bounced into my arms, crying.
I hugged him tightly as he cried. I felt his warm tears on my shoulder. Then, rubbing his back slowly, I brought us to the bed, and we lay down, hugging each other and crying. We didn’t say anything for a while, just laid on the bed cuddling, Jace playing with my hand as I ran my fingers through his soft hair.
“I broke up with Amari,” Jace finally spoke, breaking the silence. It took me a while to register what he said. My body shot off the bed in shock.
“WHAT??” I yelled. “What happened?”
Jace’s eyes got teary yet again. He swallowed, attempting to relieve the lump stuck in his throat, his hands trembling as they held on to mine for strength.
“I-, um, I went to talk to him about Kayden. I asked him if he knew about Kayden wanting to ask Sophie out, and it turned out he knew and didn’t tell me. Can you believe this shit? I told him, Le, I told him how much you liked Kayden. I saw it. He saw it. We could all see it, the sparkling love in your eyes. He could’ve told me so I could’ve warned you so that I could’ve done something for you. But you know what he said?” Jace looked at me, horrified.
“What?” My heart was beating fast. So Amari knew, and he didn’t say anything?
“He said it wasn’t any of his business. That you are an adult and you could handle it. So I told him it was his job to protect you as a friend, but he said it wasn’t. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. What’s being an adult has to do with any of this?” I could tell Jace was about to explode.
All of this is happening because my heart decided to fall in love with someone I clearly couldn’t have.
“So you broke up with him?” I sighed.
“Yeah, he wasn’t happy about it, but I told him he was an adult. He could fucking handle it. Then I left. He keeps trying to call, but I’m not answering.” he stopped pacing and sat at the love chair in the corner of the room, his hands cradling his head.
“Jace, you didn’t have to do that. I know you are pissed for me, and I get it, but breaking up? Are you sure it’s what you want to do? Aren’t you overreacting? I mean, as much as his words hurt, it’s true.”
Jace looked at me with fire in his eyes, “yes, I am absolutely sure you are my friend Le. Are you kidding me? It’s not like you are a stranger or someone he doesn't know. You were there for us when we needed you. Every time we fought, you’d be there to make us apologise. We’ve had sleepovers and trips together. If he can’t appreciate that and do the right thing, then I don’t want to be with him.”
I got up from my place and walked over to Jace, reaching for his hand and pulling him into a hug. I wouldn’t know what would’ve happened to me if I didn’t have Jace in my life. We hugged each other tightly.
“Thank you for standing beside me no matter what,” I whispered.
“If only you weren’t a bottom too, I’d so date you,” Jace said. We looked at each other for a second and started laughing.
“You know Kayden kept calling me too. I ended up shutting my phone off,”
“That asshole needs to get a fucking clue. I swear I should’ve punched him,” Jace replied. “How about we call Leo and Alex to come over and have a sad-ass party?” he asked.
“That sounds lovely, you call them, and I’ll order pizza and prepare our sad playlist.”
Jace took out his phone and started calling the boys while I went downstairs to use the phone line and order our pizzas. Leo and I loved a BBQ chicken pizza, while Alex and Jace liked Hawaiian pizza. I know I know pineapple on pizza is illegal. Alex and Leo showed up with ice cream an hour later, we sat down in the living room on the floor like we usually did, and Jace told them what had happened.
"That piece of shi-" Leo started, but Alex interrupted him by putting his finger on his lips.
"Don't say anything rash, they might get back together, and you'll look like an idiot." Alex's finger lingered on Leo's lips. Hmm, interesting.
“I’m never going back to him unless he apologises to Levi and admits he was wrong. Ifft absagf ridcloisun.”
“Dude, finish your sentence before stuffing your face. None of us understood what you just said.” Alex said, disgusted. I know, Alex, I know.
We all sat in silence. How did we end up here? It was supposed to be a fun day. We were supposed to be at the after-party dancing and having fun. Yet here we are, two of us wallowing in self-pity and broken hearts.
“Seriously, how did we end up here?” I asked.
“I ended up here because my boyfriend is an asshole. You because you fell in love with an asshole.” Then he looked at Alex and Leo, “These two are here because they are friends with idiots. Hope that answers your question.”
“It does, but it doesn’t solve the situation.” I sighed.
“How about we try and forget about them and just play some games,” Jace said with a huge smile, well more like an evil smirk. He got up and entered the kitchen coming back with an empty bottle of water.
“Ready to play the truth of dare?” he wiggled his eyebrows.
As if on cue, the three of us groaned harmoniously in displeasure.
“Seriously, Jace, every time we play this game, it turns into a disaster, and you end up doing something stupid,” Alex complained.
“Not always. Sometimes Leo does something stupid.” Jace interjects.
“Yeah, only because you dared him to, and if he doesn’t, you would always threaten to shave his eyebrows.” I laughed as Leo hid his eyebrows behind his hands. Poor Leo.
“Okay, okay, I promise no stupid dares. We’ll keep it nice and simple and in-house only. But, please, I really want to forget about today.” He begged and stupid us. We caved. Here is to a fateful night.
We sat down in a circle with the bottle in the middle. Leo was sitting opposite Jace, and I was between Jace and Alex. Bad combination, in my opinion.
“Okay, so who wants to go first,” Leo asked.
“Me, me me,” Jace yelled and reached for the bottle giving it a spin. It landed on Alex, and Jace gave Alex and mischievous smile.
“Alright, Lex, truth or dare?” He asked
“Truth, I ain’t moving from my spot,” Alex replied.
“Alright then, when was the last time you hooked up with someone?”
“Oh wow, going all out on the first question?” I said, kind of expecting it, but it still surprised me.
“Yeah, let’s not play kid's games all out or nothing. So Lexi boy, what’s your answer?” We all turned our heads and looked at Alex. To Jace’s dismay, Alex brought out his nonchalant face. His infamous poker face was almost unbreakable, meaning Jace was not going to get what he wanted from the question.
“Hmm, I’d say about two weeks ago,” Alex answered, which shocked us all. Jace and I questioned who, where, and why hasn’t told us. On the other hand, Leo stayed quiet, hands folded at his chest, his jaw clenched his whole body was tense.
“Yeah, Alex, who was it?” Leo smiled, but it did not reach his eyes.
Okay, something is happening here, and I need to find out. Self-reminder to talk to Leo later.
“That is a different question I do not need to answer. So it's my turn now.” Alex took the bottle and spun it. It landed on Leo.
“Alright, handsome, truth or dare.”
Leo smiled, “I’ll choose dare. I’m feeling adventurous.”
Alex got excited as he smirked at all of us. Then, he got up and went to the freezer, getting out a tub of ice cream and a spoon. What happened to not getting up from his spot?
“Leo. I want you to take a spoonful of ice cream and eat it all at once.”
Leo looked horrified, “are you serious?" He questioned.
"Lex, you know I'm sensitive to cold things," Leo added.
"I know. Get to it." He smirked.
Ouch, I could feel the brain freeze creeping in already, and I wasn't the one who was going to eat it.
"I'll get you back for this. Just you wait, pretty boy." Leo threatened before opening the lid to scoop the ice cream out. Let's just say he was in a lot of pain after—poor baby.
We played for a while, and it was actually quite fun. The game progressed smoothly with stupid questions and funny dares. I had to eat mustard-covered strawberries. I should've stuck to truth. Jace was struggling to get it to land on Leo. He said he had the best thing for him. So yeah, it was a fun night. Jace kept it somewhat civil … well, until the last one, that is.
"Alright, my turn." Jace rubbed his hands together like a cartoon villain. He spun the bottle, and it finally landed on Leo.
"Fuck yes, finally. Alright, you sexy beast. Truth or dare?" Jace asked, his hands grasped together, hoping Leo would choose what he wanted.
"Hmmm, what to choose, what to choose." Leo stalled, torturing Jace.
"Just choose, damn it." Jace was about to explode. It was hilarious.
"Okay, I choose dare." He smiled, but he seemed to instantly regret it when he saw the look on Jace's face.
"Oh, no."
"Oh yeah, alright, I've been waiting for this all night. Ahm, remember how you said that you couldn't imagine kissing Alex on the cheeks?" He smirked.
"Oh god." Leo hid his face in his hands.
"No, nope, definitely not." Alex glared.
"Yes, I dare you to kiss Lexi on the cheeks, and it can't be a quick one. I want at least 30 seconds to a minute." Jace added.
"Who the hell kisses on the cheeks for a minute?" I asked.
"Shush, you don't question my logic. So choose kiss, or I'm getting the razor out."
Poor Leo, whichever one he chooses, he's going to suffer. Though I would definitely go with the kiss, I do not look good without eyebrows. But I believe Leo could pull it off.
"Okay, I'll kiss Alex." Leo finally spoke after what felt like 5 minutes of silence.
"Alright, good choice, buddy. Alex, remember, if you choose to refuse Leo doing the dare, your eyebrow is on the line."
"Fine. Go ahead, Leo." Alex replied, clearly not happy or maybe not. The tips of his ears turned a hot shade of pink, which was a sign of Lex being shy. Oh, this is very interesting.
Leo got up from his place and moved closer to Alex. Sitting down next to him. Leo's back was kind of facing us while Alex sat on his other side with his eyes closed. Leo inched closer and closer to Lex's cheeks but kept hesitating. He was getting awfully close when Jace’s phone rang, which made Alex turn his face to the side.
Jace and I gasped while he silenced his phone. Leo's lips were not on Alex's cheeks but on his lips instead. Alex's eyes opened so wide you'd think they'd pop out. Then, just as Leo was about to back off, Jace spoke.
"A minute, remember?"
Alex's eyes closed when Leo settled into the kiss. At first, it was just lip-on-lip, but slowly Alex's hand climbed up to Leo's cheek as he deepened the kiss. Finally, their lips started moving in sync slowly yet so sensually. Leo's hand wrapped around Alex's nape, tugging at the base of his hair, which caused Alex to open his lips slightly. Leo took the opportunity to slip his tongue inside his mouth, causing Alex to moan.
It was starting to heat up the minute the alarm went off, but neither seemed to notice. Jace and I looked at each other surprised but said nothing and left them. Another minute in, we hear a knock on the front door, finally causing the kissing maniacs to stop. Jace smirked at them.
"Well, that was something, Alex. I guess you could say your last make-out wasn’t two weeks ago." He giggled. While Alex's cheeks turned bright pink, Leo, on the other hand, was quiet; he didn't move or say anything as if he was frozen.
Another knock on the door took me out of my observation mode, and I got up to open the door. Looking at the time, it was 10:45 PM. Who's knocking at this time of night?
I looked out the peephole in the door, nervous-looking Amari. Well, here goes our chaotic night. I opened the door, and Amari's frantic eyes met mine. You could see the instant guilt dawning on his face as soon as he saw me.
"Levi, I'm-" he tried to speak.
"Save it. What are you doing here?" I asked, sounding a lot angrier than I was. Don't get me wrong, and I am pissed at him. I thought I meant more to him, but, indeed, it wasn't his job. His face saddened even more, but that was a story for another day. I'm not in the mood to talk about anything anymore today.
"Um, I went to Jace’s house, and his mom told me he was spending the night here."
"You couldn't wait until tomorrow? You know he is still angry. You have a better chance tomorrow." I said.
"I know, but I can't stop thinking about it. I don't think I'll be able to sleep if I don't fix this. I can't lose him, Le. I just can't." Amari's eyes glistened with tears threatening to fall.
I felt bad for him. Amari is utterly in love with Jace. Anyone can see the amount of affection he carries for my cotton candy-dipped friend.
"Alright, come in, but heads up, things are awkward inside because- well just don't comment or ask." So I opened the door wider for him to get inside.
"Got it," he said.
I closed the door, and we walked to the living room. Oh, crab, things are not looking good. Leo and Alex were sitting on opposite sides of the room, avoiding making eye contact. This is going to be a fun sleepover. Please note the sarcasm.
Jace is still smirking, looking at them both. He's so evil. I'll cut him some slack since his mood is about to be ruined.
Jace felt my presence as he started to turn around.
"Who was at the-" his eyes landed on Amari, and his smirk turned into a frown.
"What are you doing here?" Jace asked.

Well, that took an unexpected turn. Let me know your thoughts, and I will see you all in the next one... very soon. *wink*
