Blurred Vision

Threat - part 1

Threat - part 1

Mar 31, 2023

At least once a week, before going to sleep, Kaeso put on all of his earrings. To not let the piercings close up. He had done so far: one lobe on each ear, double nostril, and anti-eyebrow. Kaeso liked earings too much to resign from them for good. They were an investment worth all of the pain and money. The only problem was that having piercings, he could not blend in with the crowd. Shortly after deciding to "disappear," Kaeso began questioning his previous decisions. Did he like what he has done with his appearance, or was it just due to seeking attention? Does he genuinely enjoy making graffiti, or does he chooses to develop in this field because of its popularity and controversy? Despite all that, he was sure that art was like an addiction. Just as he could not go through a day without smoking a package of smokes, he could not make it without drawing at least one sketch.

In Kaeso's room, there was only one device, an old, almost ten years old laptop. He used it mainly for school-related work, like homework or contacting teachers and class members. Unfortunately, he could not avoid being added to different class groups on social media, but all of them were muted, and Kaeso only visited them if necessary.

Moved by the talk with Adam, Kaeso switched on the computer, intending to check out universities and art academies. However, the information which popped up on the screen interrupted him. It was a message from one of Kaesos's class members. They had never written to him directly, so it was very unexpected.

"Hello. Sorry for interrupting, but you still did not answer if you would participate in our school trip. You may need to read our group chat, but please respond as soon as possible."

Kaeso immediately opened the group chat. He was surprised to discover that the last message concerned him. "Can someone contact Kaeso? He never enters this chat…". Although it was a usual question, it was disturbing for Kaeso, who was still sensitive to how others perceived him. What else were they talking about him? He needed to check everything. After writing his name into the searcher at the chat group, a few messages popped up:

"Kaeso is weird."

"It is so hard to communicate with him."

In a situation like this one, there was no other option. Kaeso needed to take off the mask and show his true face. He knew how to silence everyone in this group chat. Using force was not a way Kaeso liked to solve problems, but it worked fast, and currently, it was his priority. Therefore he hoped that a threat would be enough to make them remember what he was capable of.

Slowly tapping letter by letter, he created a concise and suggestive message: "I am waiting to face you tomorrow and hear everything you have written here so far. Either come to me on your own accord, or I will find you myself."

As Kaeso expected after his message, the chat froze. Additionally, he sent them a random picture of a resonance presenting a broken nose to add oil to the fire. It referenced the event from Kaesos's first year at high school. Being a quiet person put him in the crosshair of the older students. Thinking that he would be an easy target, they decided to bully Kaeso. It was supposed to start with beating him up, but the tables turned quickly. Although there were three against one, Kaeso knocked the living daylight out of his opponents. Besides fists, different objects were used during the fight; the final victory was ensured to Kaeso thanks to the thick, weighing a few kilograms dictionary. Its white cover turned half red after the crash with the nose of one of the opponents. The feeling of the power to silence the whole chat was an ego boost for Kaeso. However, buzzing endorphins did not cloud his mind. He was aware of the consequences of his act...

"Maybe I went too far with it." It was the first thing he taught but was quickly replaced by the second one.

"Nope. Stop having remorse."
