While Black and the
merchants discussed the details of the deal, Captain Hatch stood at the bar and
watched what was happening. Benjamin was tall and muscular, with a carelessly
combed white beard, a large white mustache, the same white hair and blue eyes.
He never interfered with the trade deals that Johnny Black conducted, but an
integral part of his job was to make sure that everything went according to
plan.
A few minutes later, the merchants and Black returned to the captain. Black was pleased and winked at Hatch.
"All ready, Captain. We made a good deal. We will get food, as well as what we needed."
"All right.", - Hatch replied, - "Then load the goods on board and get ready to sail. We need to do this before it gets dark."
Captain Hatch watched the merchants carefully as they walked to their men. Then he turned to the ship, looked at his crew and raised his hand. Thus, he ordered to get ready to sort the supplies.
The sailors answered him with nods. Hatch stayed where he was, keeping a close eye on everything that was happening around him.
After a while, a stranger in a black robe approached Ben. This man pretended to look around, as if looking for something important.
"Greetings, Captain. I'm looking for someone to take me to a nearby island. Maybe you can help me?", - calmly said the stranger, whose voice sounded young, but at the same time rude.
The island that the stranger wanted to get to was a large port city located at the crossroads of trade routes. It was a place where pirates, merchants and soldiers of different kingdoms gathered, which created a unique atmosphere of diversity and freedom. It was known as the "Port of the Blood Sea", which was famous for its trade links with many kingdoms and pirate groups, which usually led to bloody skirmishes on the streets of the city.
"Is this the way to start a conversation? Who are you and why do you need to get to this island?", - Benjamin Hatch cast a disapproving glance at the guy in the bathrobe.
"I am a simple traveler. And I need to get there, because I've never been there before and I want to see the city.", - the stranger calmly replied, his expression did not change at all.
Let the mantle hide the man's body, but his face was visible. Under the clothes was a young man, about 16-17 years old, his hair was pure white, and his eyes resembled the sea itself. At the same time, the guy's gaze was calm, but penetrating, it seemed that he was not looking at a person, but into his soul.
Hatch: "How are you going to pay? How much money do you have?"
The young man's expression did not change, he did not take his eyes off Hatch for a second.
"I have something else that might interest you. If you will allow me to board your ship, then I will share with you my knowledge of where the lost treasure chest is located."
Hatch raised an eyebrow, he looked interested. But he was not so much interested in the treasures as in the young man himself, who was calmly talking to the pirate captain. But he decided to play along with the guy.
Hatch: "And where is this chest?"
"On the island where I'm going"
Hatch couldn't help but laugh out loud. He walked confidently towards his ship and answered without looking back at the stranger.
Hatch: "Okay, I agree. But remember, I will not tolerate deception. If your words are just a trick, then your body will switch to fish food."
"I understand.", - the young man replied calmly.
Hatch: "So what did you say your name was?"
"Russell... Russell Jones"
