Blanco looks up from his large green seat at the King. The king paces back and forth, with a concerned frown on his face. The only noise is his boots stomping and the sound of the grandfather clock ticking. The King stops.
He turns and looks at Blanco, who is lazily sitting in the chair with his hat once again hiding his face.
"Take off the hat."
Blanco doesn't respond.
"Boy, you do not realize what importance it could have if you just... please. Take the hat off."
Blanco looks up at the King, revealing only one of his sparkly purple eyes. He looks back down.
"...look. There is something I could know about you. About your origin, your people... I might even know your parents."
Blanco quickly looks up this time, finally making his whole face visible. His slender face has almost perfect dimensions, with a cluster of white dots sitting below each of his big purple eyes. He has a small scar on his left cheekbone, in the shape of a cross. He has thin, light-coloured lips, which are only slightly pink.
The King finally lets out a small grin.
"Yes. My suspicions are true. You look... just like how they are described. The white hair, the purple eyes... you are one of the few left that I know of. My boy, you are what is called a 'Child of Splendor'. In 2467, a small explorer clan of humans and Martians went on a journey to a peculiar and unknown planet they had supposedly spotted when exploring the outer wilds beyond the Milky Way. This planet was tiny but was pure white, as if a snowball had somehow rolled in enough snow to form an entire planet."
The King begins to pace again as he explains the story to the now curious-looking Blanco.
"The explorers upon landing on the snow-covered planet, that was rumoured to be named 'Splendorium' were met by an odd race of beings. Human-looking beings with pure white skin, pure white hair and... purple eyes." Blanco's eyes widen. He had put the puzzle pieces together.
"Reports from the explorers claim that one of the beings on the planet knew how to speak somehow, a bald man simply known as 'Splendor', who the explorers decided to name the planet after. Apart from that one man, no one else on the planet said a word. Splendor explained that everyone who inhabited the planet was his 'children built from his bones' and that he was an 'immortal god' of some sort. Of course, many elements are debated and disputed amongst historians, whether this man known as 'Splendor' even existed, or if the explorers in fact found a snowy planet that was empty and decided to make up a myth of peculiar beings."
The King looks again at Blanco. His silver eyes pierce into Blanco's soul.
"... I can now see that this myth was true."
Blanco stands up with an expressionless face. He places his hat on his head.
The King watches with a curious look on his face. His hands remain together behind his back as he analyzes how Blanco receives the news.
Blanco bursts through the door in a flash. He stands in the corridor looking only at the floor as the door softly closes behind him, preventing the King's stare from following him anymore. He wipes away a single tear from his right eye. He begins to walk on again in silence. His walk turns to a sprint as he hears the door behind him open. He didn't want to be special. He just wants to live. He didn't want to be a rare species. He was happy with being a lowlife on Krucko's ship.
He runs through the palace, his chest thumping in his small body as he searches for a way out. He scans each grand room as he blitzes past at lightning speed. Finally, a window out to the gardens. He darts to the open window, jumping out onto the soft green grass. A giant hedge maze greeted him as he stood up and without a second to stop and think, Blanco dashes into the maze of green. He didn't know where it would lead nor did he care. All he wanted to do was get away from that King.
3004. The fragments are at each other's necks. Since the 'Great Shatter' of 2025, Earth was split into 6 fragments run by 6 factions; Kingdom of Barania, Hypendor Federation, Kingdom of Lashivo, Republic of Prosopon, The Glacier and Golden Hell.
We follow a lowly pirate of the dishonourable Krucko Crew as he finds his way in this new life.
