"Lilith, sweetheart! How's my little girl?"Damien asks slinging his arm around Lilith's shoulder as she walks into the ballroom, she grimaces at the attention of everyone in the room. Tonight will be full of women and even men trying to butt their way into the royal family. "So, see anyone you like?" Damien asks directing Lilith toward the middle of the room, noticing Charlotte walking not far behind them he slows to a stop."Charlotte, it's been too long. Are you a contestant for my daughter's heart?" Damien asks turning with his arms out wide for what looks like a hug only to go in for a handshake instead.
"No, sir-"
"She doesn't need to, she's already won," Lilith says loud enough for the whole room to hear, several men and women visibly deflate. Her father turns to look at her with a blank stare.
"Well, then let's toast to the new couple-"
"We're not getting married." Charlotte stats staring at Lilith with an even blanker stare than her father had. All men and women visibly reinflate and begin shuffling toward the princes.
"Yet." Lilith smiles, "I still have much to prove to her."
"There is nothing to prove. You don't deserve me."
"Your right," Lilith says stepping closer to the shorter girl, "I deserve much less-"
"More...You deserve much better than me." Charlotte says, her eye twitching slightly, "You deserve someone who can give you whatever you want-"
"Whatever I want?" Charlotte nods, "Well then that can only be you, cause all I want is you," Lilith's smile widens as their faces become mere inches from each other. For a moment they stand there undisturbed, the room set under a blanket of silence before Charlotte sighs, "A week, we date for a week and see how it goes."
"A year."
"Two weeks."
"A month." Charlotte sighs sealing their deal with a handshake.
"Well then, let's celebrate!" Damien yells earning whoops and hollers from the room.
That night Lilith has to be carried to her room, she can only assume by Charlotte as she wakes up with the other woman laying beside her. She nearly has a heart attack at first not expecting the extra body weight but once she realizes who the extra body weight belongs to she nearly explodes with joy and anxiety not quite sure what to do. She's brought out of her anxiety-filled thoughts when she feels the bed shift a bit a small whimper of pain or maybe fear, a sudden cry of incoherent words and before she can even start to think of what to do Charlotte's eyes fly open with a jolt of her body but that's all. After that, she calmly looks around the room as if she just woke from any normal dream then she rolls over towards Lilith. "You okay?" Charlotte asks covering her eyes with her hands.
"Me? Are you? I think you were having a nightmare." Lilith says scooting closer to the other woman.
"Oh, sorry. Did I hurt you? Or scare you?" Charlotte asks sitting up to get a better look at Lilith.
"No, I mean you worried me but no you didn't scare or hurt me. Are you okay?" Charlotte asks again hoping to get an answer this time.
"Yeah, I just haven't slept next to someone before while having my nightmares. I wasn't sure if I kicked or punched or what...I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that I just didn't expect us to be sleeping in the same bed so soon-"
"Don't apologize. Nightmares won't bother me I care more about whether you're okay or not." Lilith smiles gently reaching to lay a gentle hand on Charlotte's arm only to have the other woman stand before she can.
"I'm fine, as long as your fine," Charlotte says turning towards Lilith.
"I'm fine."
"Okay...I'll get you coffee, what do you want for breakfast?" Charlotte asks making her way around the bed and towards the bedroom door.
"Something greasy. And an Advil, please. My head is pounding."
