Nothing makes the day longer, or in some cases, keeps crews from going home than having to look for lost items. When things go missing, they have a high potential to become what we call Foreign Object Debris, otherwise called “FOD” and subsequently have the potential to cause Foreign Object Damage, also called "FOD”. Accountability of items is absolute in the aviation world, so much so that successfully recovering lost items after hours upon hours of searching is near cause for celebration!
