The conversation between her and her teacher crossed in mind.
“I’m afraid to say this to you, but if you won’t be able to summon your own servant, you will not be advancing to your second year.”
“Yes. I understand.”
“Well, you still have till the end of the week, so make a good use of it.”
“It’ll be a great shame to have an excellent student like you leave the school.” the teacher added.
“Yeah. Thank you.”
Celestelia bartfold stops and looked at the distant neon sky, the sun was preparing to set. White, almost transparent skin, long, extending out eyelashes as though waving for a glance of one or two, the girl had a snow-white beauty. Her long, lustrous hair was a striking silver, creating a beautiful contrast to her round purple eyes.
“one week eh?” that’s a very limited time she had.
“well guess that’s how being cursed is, Sigh.” the girl sighed as she convince herself. But was that really? Being cursed was. Where her dreams seem like a deflated of air balloon would never be able to soar high. Or a defile of right leaf just going along to the wind as it falls lacks the ability to move on its own. Or the distant setting sun that she could only watch from afar. Bartfold, the name’s sound alone rings a bell in the ear known all over the land for not being able to summon a servant. Rumors said that this family was cursed for committing a great crime in the past, though no knew what that crime was nor how much of that was true. Even so, it was still a matter of fact that every member of this family was unable to summon a servant and for a family of mage that’s a big shame.
Celes remains in the place almost in a daze staring into the setting sun. Finding her way out of the academy was inevitable if she won’t be able to produce a good result. And for someone like herself who had dream and desire in life that she wanted to achieve, that was the last thing she wanted to.
Sigh. She sighed for the second time. “thinking about it too much won’t do me good.” she tell to herself. While it was true, couldn’t just help it since in a few days her fate was gonna be decided. Of course, that also goes to her dream and desire in life. And who would not be if put in the same shoes?
Slap! The girl slaps her cheeks with her both hands squeezing it. “no good, no good!” she scold herself and later on fired up, balding her hands into fist. Her leaving in the school was inevitable she just have to put all her own in that case then. Though looking up at the path ahead, the girls still had a long way to go.
Spring time in the magic academy of Albright, the start of the new semester was right in the corner. Celes walks in the school ground trotting straight with every of her steps seems no turning back. Her face was serious. Since the school was in break, the academy that usually bustling and hustling of students was almost like an empty bottle of water. There’s no one around. There were still a couple of students passing by every now and then though, having things to take care of. None of it matter to celes however, her mind was set in one goal alone. There’s no turning back.
“Morning celes.” Someone called her from her side and she turned to find Lisa, a close friend. Behind her was her servant Lillia (It wasn’t that long when she was summoned) Lisa was a girl of the same age as celes, tall and slender. With her signature black and white ribbon, she always tied her golden brown hair into a ponytail.
“What’s the serious look?” Lisa jokes she knew well the reason, though. “You look like a geezer, you know.”
“Lisa. What are you doing here?” question celes a bit of surprise. She hadn’t thought for this girl to be here, not just because they were on break, but since, just like her, this girl also had things running on her end.
“What am I doing? Of course, we are here to support you.” Lillia nods from the side. The mole under her lip really does the job.
Celes was delighted. “But aren’t you got things on your plate also?” she ask being considerate.
“Well, I do have but that isn’t important right now.” answered Lisa to reassured celes. “What is important is you.”
“So we were here to support you.”
“It’s just as my master’s words lady celes. So you should just keep your mind on things you should be focusing with.” Lillia’s words.
“Guys, thank you.” She was moved by the two.
“that’s the celes I know. Keep smiling. I know you can make it through.”
“Right, here.” Lisa handed something to celes she had just remembered it.
“What is this?” Celes looked at the thing resting atop of her palm.
“We picked it up along the way here. It’s a good luck charm.” a good luck charm.
“Not that it will really do things, but what’s the harm in having it?”
Celes hand on the charm was grateful. “Thank you. I’ll keep this.” they exchange smile. The group then moved in tow with each other they headed to the academy’s tallest tower.
“By the way, just wanna ask what happened to your end.” Along the way, Celes asks Lisa.
Lisa: “Well it got troublesome but somehow I managed to fetch my way out.” she shrugs sarcastically.
“Is that so? Anyway, glad to hear that.”
“—looked at this.” a voice interrupted.
