If you watched Nazo Unleashed, the history behind Chakra-X's rendition of Nazo will be familiar to you.
In this story, however, he is the "Second Nazo" and is dubbed Pseudo, for clarity's sake.
Nazo Unleashed changed my life.
It inspired and motivated me beyond what my words could attempt to articulate, and Nazo himself has become a huge part of my life and he still is, to this very day.
Halo on Fire started out as a series of short stories about Nazo's adventures that continue after Nazo Unleashed, and I've made several of these little stories, dubbed Chronicles of Nazo at the time. (don't judge, I was like 14 lmao)
I chose the name Halo on Fire after the Metallica song of the same name. It's a song about overcoming trauma, but also paints a picture of how there is light and dark within all of us and how, under different circumstances, either side may present itself to the world.
Both interpretations, I feel, carried the spirit and integrity that this story encompasses.
That aside, I tried to make sure that even people who haven't watched Nazo Unleashed can enjoy this comic.
However, I HIGHLY recommend watching it if you haven't already, not only to have a deeper understanding or to catch all the references to it in this comic, but just to even appreciate it. It has changed my life, it might change yours.
WARNING!
There are portrayals of violence, bad language, depressive themes/imagery and other such imagery and portrayals in this work.
If you are not comfortable with seeing/reading about such themes and imagery, or feel it might affect you negatively, please do not read the comic.
Ultimately, Halo on Fire, just like its namesake, is about overcoming trauma, but there are many scenes that could potentially be upsetting to some people.
I am not trying to present a realistic or accurate portrayal of mental illness, Nazo's condition is fictional, with some symptoms taken from real life illnesses as a way to affect narrative.
Nazo...a name many remember and associate as one of the greatest foes Sonic has fought, almost bringing doom upon the world with his evil might.
However, as it turns out, there is more to this enigmatic individual than meets the eye, and the events take a very double-sided turn..
