A boisterous crowd was entering the Ruellia Palace, a Tanix halted at the gates.
"Excuse me, what's going on?" The lady driver, one guard explained."The king is holding a beauty contest, the winners will-"
"The trophy has my name on it!" The model's daughter rushed into the entrance hall, waving."Thanks!"
I can't build a palace overnight, but I can get inside one!
Since that impertinent girl vanished, so did their smiles.
What's worse, those two look like they made a vow of silence, I only hear their voices whenever I talk to them. Short answers at that!
Ugh, it's unbearable to see them down… I'll end this!
Closing her eyes, breathing deeply she directed herself to her other half who was resting on a hammock, outside."My Shal, are you angry?"
"No." Her husband didn't bat an eye, his insincerity niggled her."I'm doing my best to keep us safe and sound."
"It's for yourself." He turned his back, spiteful."Your heart was sewn back together so many times, it can't stand another crack."
"All of us! Do you think I enjoy having to be vigilant all the time?!" The matriarch refuted steadfastly."We must survive, no matter what!"
"Even if that means not living at all? Always in the corners as shadows hiding from sunlight." Mishal's poignant remark rendered his wife perplexed.
A blue snake was exterminating the kitchen's plague, rats. The owner put his plate away, not touching the food."I'm fasting for today."
"Son." Her wavering tone provoked him to look from shock, she was somewhat powerless."Yes, mother?"
"Would you… tell Lyla I'm sorry, please?" Stroking her left arm, consumed by overwrought.
Goggle-eyed, the child of the prophecy assented. The matriarch said jocularly."But if she shatters me, you'll pick up the pieces."
"Count on me." Grinning, the summoner took his leave.
The model's daughter was wearing earrings, bracelets and necklace, a top and loose pants of the finest fabrics, a transparent veil on her hair and a forehead jewelry.
A foreign yet enchanting makeup set was on a large vanity table, she was euphoric."I feel like a princess!"
"Allow me to enhance your beauty." A maid held some brushes.
"Just watch today, I'm a pro! I've done plenty of tutorials online." Swanking, the rich girl snatched the tools.
"Line? Is it a convention?" The servant deduced.
"Uh… yeah." The specialist began her brushwork, her tools plus products were identical to the ones she had, though they were of uncommon consistency compared to the ones on earth.
A cakey foundation, two blocks for eyebrows, thick contour, smeared eyeliner, strong blush, unblended eyeshadow… wobbling, the self proclaimed pro held a lipstick.
It can't go wrong… it's foolproof.
Her hand slipped, accentuating the disgrace on her face, tears of shame rolled down worsening her clown state."Do it for me please."
"It's my honor to redo it, expert." The maid smirked, the woman bashfully simpered."You're welcome."
Balancing with the extravagant clothing, a natural makeup style which brought focus on her green eyes.
"There is someone requesting to meet you, my lady."A servant apprised the enriched girl."A visitor? Let him in."
"Fayez!" Nuzzling the blue snake, Lyla greeted the master and its pet with radiance."It's a Mogh to see you too, Sachar."
"Equally." The Arkav had a soft expression."Slang? Your vocabulary expanded a lot."
"It 's not just that." The lavish room was undeniable evidence."I got this kingdom dirt cheap, all I have to do is hold the prince's hand."
"Great deal, isn't it?" The candidate gave him a pat on the back to ease his disheartened countenance.
"Don't make that face, I'll leave half of the world for you to conquer!"
"Oh, right! What brings you here?" A sparkle of joy in her eyes, absolutely crushed the stoic man on the inside.
"I came to… check how you were."
"Aww, sweet of you!" The lady was touched."Don't worry, I can handle myself."
"It's good to see it." The gentleman bit his lower lip."I'll be off."
"So soon? Take some gold!" The servants quickly conveyed some bags on a platter."I don't need it."
"I insist!" Upon her persistence, the ex-full time bodyguard acquiesced.
The maid who overheard the conversation was concerned."My lady, would you answer a question?"
"Sure thing." The accepted candidate admired herself in the giant mirror.
"When the prince asked to hold your hand, what do you think he meant?"
"Just that, isn't he naive?" Her pure perspective was mashed."He asked for a marriage."
"I should've known he's past the age of innocence." The lady packed her presents."These are mine, right? I'm not stealing anything."
"Yes, they're gifts for you." The handmaid attested, curious."Why?"
"I'm out!" Putting on the excess of accessories which didn't fit on her bag."I don't wish to be his wife."
"You misunderstood, you'll be his concubine." The servant corrected it."Due to your unknown origins, you'll be part of the royal harem."
"Harem!? That indecent prince, outright devaluing me." Dropping some rings, the model's daughter was galled.
"You're his highness's favorite! You must stay." The attendant exhorted.
"One more reason to go!" The college student shivered."History taught me enough."
"The price will be forlorn to learn of your withdrawal." The maid persisted in coaxing her.
"His harem will console him." The brunette said, scathing.
Normally, people celebrate losing a problem to all their solutions. Yet a man dallied in the cold night, his lament meandering his return home.
It took me too long to admit that she isn't a hindrance anymore…
He was too immersed in his jumbled thoughts to pay attention to what was going on in the surroundings.
"Hey, handsome, need a ride?" A weird voice called out from behind, startled him who jumped out of fear.
The azure serpent threw itself at the stranger, the summoner turned around.
"Did I scare you, Sachy?" The little sheep caressing Fez on her Tanix.
"You surprised me, there's a difference." His argument did not convince the politician's daughter who had a smug look.
"Weren't you the new resident at Ruellia palace?" Sachar cleaned his throat, switching subjects.
"You said right, I was." The spoiled brat pointed her index finger up.
"You were cast out." He nodded, feigning pity."It's understandable."
"I have exemplary conduct." The lady did a head slide, presumptuously.
"Then what was the cause, miss impeccable?" The gentleman teased.
"That prince is a blurgh." The rich girl was repugnanced at the royal's obnoxious lifestyle.
"Is that so?" His mesmerizing smile enchanted her.
