I think about my upbringing and aspects of my childhood a lot and rethinking what it means for me, which helps a lot to gain inspiration and thoughts about me as a person.
Growing Strains (Vol 1.) is the first volume of poetry following a timeframe of my life. This volume showcases an assorted collection of poems following my adolescence and development that represents a window into my frame of mind during those years. This selection of poems is special for many reasons, but mostly because they start with me going into high school and following through to the time of receiving my undergraduate degree. There’s a lot that’s happened to me through these developmental years!
Classic young adult angsts like love, heartbreak, life, death, and overall confusion of maturity are featured in this small selection. This publication is to be the first volume of many, another to be curated after another 8 to 10 years of more poetry. Through sketches, writing, and the beauty of a page turn/scroll, this work sequentially challenges a look through time and prospects into the future of a young artist.
