Mason is sitting on the couch watching tv, Chaser is lifting weights in the other room, Zen is out buying groceries, Jean and Aaron are cooking in the kitchen, and Livvik is upstairs sleeping away. All of them feeling pretty relaxed. Usually they never get time to sit down and relax because there is always a loose screw in their reality. They are always pressured, dealing with something or someone, or fighting. They never get breaks but right now felt amazing. All of them getting a break from being a Jynx— or at least so they thought.
Zen burst through the door shaking the tv, Chaser runs into the livingroom with a gun pointed in the air. Zen has blood all over his white t-shirt. His clothes are wacky and wrinkled. His hair is a mess and his face looks like he just killed someone.
Jean comes sliding into the livingroom, Zen stumbles to his feet. Jean and Aaron help him to the couch. Jean takes his shirt off and uncovers a stab wound.
“Oh my gosh!” Jean mumbles followed by several gasps.
Mason rushes upstairs to wake Livvik. Livvik was more of the aid care person. Livvik rushed downstairs still rubbing his eyes. Livvik cleaned the wound out with alcohol and wrapped it up. Then he took a bloody gun out of Zen’s pocket.
“Zen, i know youre in pain btu what the hell did you do?!” Aaron started.
“Isnt that yours?” Mason asked.
Aaron nods his head and they all stare at Zen waiting for an answer.
“I was coming otu of the grocery store and a G.X. member ran up on me. He was calling me out of my name and saying things about Jean and… I got smart with him and he stabbed me. If i didnt have A dawg’s gun on me i might be dead right now. I shot em— i shot em twice. It was sloppy and i was bleeding out, i didnt have time to cover anything up.” Zen said.
Jean felt bad for him. Aaron would wait until he was healed and okay to fuss at him for being so dumb. Aaron always did that. Then they would go whining and venting to Mason. Aaron came up with plans instantly.
“Okay—” He said.
Everyone looked at him.
“Okay, we go down there and we cover it up right now. If you dont have shoes, oh well, we dont have time. Lets go!” Aaron finished.
Everyone started quickly grabbing bags, water, and rags. We walked 4 blocks down the road and we turned in front of a corner store. We had to stop when we saw cops and ambulances and G.X. members. They had already gotten to the body. That fast. The paramedics carried the body inside the van and drove off. The police stayed and asked questions. We werent sticking around long enough to find out what questions.
We walked back home and went inside.
“So?” Zen asked curiously.
“They got to the body before we did. The police and Paramedics were there too.” Chaser informed Zen.
Zen throws his head back into the couch out of stress.
“Jynx meeting!” aaron shouts.
Everyone rushes to the livingroom to sit down. Aaron stands in the center of the livingroom.
“New plan. We all have to pack our things and get the hell out of here. I already called pop harvey and he sent me the location. We dont have time to pack everything so leave most of it behind. I promise—” Aaron preached, he was interrupted though.
*knock knock*
Everyone panicked but then remember their drill. Aaron and Mason shoved every bit of trash under their couch. Aaron sat on the couch while the others ran upstairs. Mason walked to the door.
“Who is it?” he asked.
“Officer Paddington!” the man responded.
Mason opened the door.
“Hey im here about a shooting that happened less than 20 minutes ago?” The officer starts. “We were wondering if you heard or saw anything?” He continued.
“Oh, ummm… no me and my twin brother just got homef rom a family trip to the Bahamas less than 10 minutes ago. Sorry.” Mason responded.
“Are you sure?” The officer questions looking Mason up and down.
If mason was going to use an excuse like that one then he might should have had some appropriate clothes on.
“Yes, im sure.” Mason replied giggling.
“Well thanks anyways, heres my card if you hear anything.” The officer finishes giving Mason a yellow card with numbers and emails on it.
“Thank you for your service, officer.” Mason says shutting the door.
He turns towards the couch. Aaron is giving him a weird look. His pale face is scrunched up.
“Really? “Thank you for your service” is all you could come up with?” Aaron confronted smirking sarcastically.
Everyone came back downstairs with their things ready to go.
Livvik drove. Livvik and Mason in the front, Aaron, Jean, Zen, and Chaser in the back. They were a tight squeeze but they made it work by putting ther things in the trunk of the car.
Right before Livvik was about tomake the turn onto the highway police sirens were heard behind them. They were being pulled over. Everyone rolled their eyes and several curse words and Bashing comments were tossed around the car. The same officer that showed up to their house was walking tord the passenger window. Mason rolled down the window.
“License and registration please.” The officer said.
Livvik reached into his pocket and pulled out his lisence.
“My registration paper arein the glove compartment, may i get those out fro you officer?” Livvik asked politely.
They’d been pulled over several times but now wasnt a time to play around like the others.
“Yes you may.” The office said scanning Livvik’s license.
Livvik reached into the glove compartment and pulled out his registration papers.
The officer said he’ll be back and went to his car.
“Think its going well so far?” Livvik asked.
“Do i think its going well? Hell no, Thats the officer that me and Mason were questioned by. He knows somethings up and he is definitely on to us.” Aaron replied.
The officer came back.
“Thank you for your help.” The officer said returning the papers and license.
“Sir?” Livvik said before the cop could leave.
“Yes.”
“Can we know why we were pulled over?” Livvik asked.
“Well lying to a cop about a family trip which im letting you off with a warning for, Carrying two weapons that arent in the open even though they are legal, and your tag expired a week ago if you didnt know.” The officer answered.
The officer turned back towards his car. He glanced at Zen. Zen was shivering. Bad. The officer returned to his car and Livvik pulled off. Everyone was too shocked to speak. The car was silent. No one understood how good the cop was. Maybe they underestimated him. Either way, they needed to get him off of their backs. Fast
