Ava couldn't stop thinking about Jax and the world of werewolves he had introduced her to. She dreamed of him every night, each time they would be running together through the fields, but before they could talk, she suddenly woke up. So she decided to look for Jax, Ava would walk by the woods every day, hoping to catch a glimpse of him again.
Finally, as the sun was setting, Jax appeared before her. This time, he seemed more relaxed.
"You shouldn't be out here alone," Jax said with a hint of concern in his voice. "It's not safe for humans to be near us."
Despite the danger, Ava was drawn to Jax and couldn't resist her attraction to him. "I couldn't resist coming back here," she admitted, smiling.
Jax's yellow eyes lit up in the fading sunlight as he returned her smile. "I'm glad you did," he replied, his voice low and smooth.
"You mentioned a mate bond, what is that? She she whispered. "It sounds important."
"It's like a magnetic pull between two souls. It doesn't guarantee love, but it guides us towards it. Once we find our mate, we feel a sense of completion, like we've been missing a piece of ourselves all along." Jax explained. "I've didn't know it was possible make a connection with Human tho."
Ava's mind raced with the implications. "Does that mean we're meant to be together?"
"Who knows, it's a rare ability we werewolves gave. It's different for each individual and I've never heard of it happening with a human before." Jax said softly.
As they talked, Ava and Jax couldn't deny the growing attraction between them. But Jax reminded her that they could never be together, as it was forbidden for a werewolf and a human to mate.
Although disappointed, Ava refused to give up. "Is there any way around it?" she asked, hopefully.
Jax shook his head. "No, there isn't. But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy each other's company while we can."
"I would like that, to get to know you more." Ava said with a hint of longing in her voice. "We can keep it a secret."
Jax nodded in agreement. "We should do that."
Despite the danger and the forbidden nature of their attraction, Ava and Jax continued to meet. They couldn't help the way they felt about each other.
As they said their goodbyes that night, Ava couldn't help but feel a sense of longing. She knew their relationship was dangerous, but she couldn't resist it.
