The modern world is shallow and superficial because people are more focused on pursuing hedonistic pleasure and status rather than on pursuing meaning and purpose in their lives.

 People are also more interested in material things than in spiritual things, which can lead to a lack of purpose and meaning in life. Additionally, the modern world is focused on consumerism and materialism, which can also lead to a feeling of emptiness and lack of meaning.

In the modern world, people are exposed to constant bombardment with advertisements and media that promote materialism and pleasure seeking behavior. From a young age, children are conditioned to believe that in order to be happy, they must always be seeking pleasure and new material possessions.

This conditioning leads many people to become driven by consumerism and materialism, rather than by higher values such as meaning and purpose.

Additionally, the modern world provides many distractions and entertainment sources that can lure people away from focusing on values and goals that would lead to more fulfilling lives. As a result, many people are left feeling empty and dissatisfied as they focus instead on superficial and materialistic pursuits.

The modern world is also characterized by a lack of communal and family structures, which can leave people feeling isolated and alone. In addition, the modern society is often driven by competition and individualism rather than by connection and community, which can leave people feeling disconnected from others and lacking a sense of belonging. This can lead many to feel alienated and disconnected from the world and people around them, which can further fuel emptiness and dissatisfaction.

In contrast, a greater focus on community and connection can provide people with a sense of belonging and purpose, while also enhancing personal well-being.

The modern society is also often characterized by a lack of empathy and compassion, with many people being absorbed in their own personal goals and desires. This can leave many individuals feeling isolated and alienated from the people around them, which can further contribute to a sense of emptiness and dissatisfaction.

Additionally, the modern world is often oriented towards instant gratification and self-indulgence, which can leave many people feeling stuck in a cycle of chasing pleasure and temporary highs, rather than working towards more meaningful and fulfilling goals.

A focus on empathy and compassion, as well as a shift toward more healthy and sustainable goals can help combat this sense of emptiness

 The modern world is also often characterized by a lack of integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness, with many people being willing to engage in dishonest and unethical Behavior in order to advance their own personal or professional interests.

This can leave many individuals feeling disillusioned and disappointed, as they are either taken advantage of or find themselves unable to trust the people and institutions they depend on.

Additionally, the modern world often rewards unethical behavior with rewards such as money or power, which can further contribute to the sense of emptiness and meaninglessness that many face as they feel forced to engage in unethical behavior in order to gain success and validation.

 The modern world is also often characterized by a lack of humility, with many people being overly prideful, arrogant, and condescending. This can leave many individuals feeling like they are less valuable or less worthy, as they see other people flaunting their superiority and achievements instead of building connection and creating a sense of unity and common purpose.

Additionally, the modern world often rewards arrogance and boasting, as those who are most confident and brash are often the most successful and popular, while those who are more humble and gentle are often ignored or dismissed. This can lead many individuals to feel inferior.

The modern world is also often characterized by a lack of patience, as many people are accustomed to having instant gratification and immediate results. This can lead many individuals to feel entitled, impatient, and anxious as they become used to receiving everything they want immediately.

Additionally, the modern world often rewards impatience, as those who immediately demand and expect things are more likely to get them compared to those who wait patiently for what they want. Therefore, many individuals become accustomed to not being patient and instead demanding instant gratification, often resulting in feelings of emptiness and dissatisfaction when they don't get what they want immediately.

 The modern world is also often characterized by a lack of gratitude, with many people taking for granted all of the luxuries and privileges they have access to. People often fail to appreciate all that they have and can instead focus on the things they feel they are missing and the things they feel they should have, leaving many with a sense of dissatisfaction and ingratitude.

Additionally, the modern world often rewards a lack of gratitude, as those who feel entitled or superior are more likely to be successful and have access to resources and privileges. This can result in a cycle of ingratitude and dissatisfaction that leaves many unhappy and unfulfilled.

 We live in a shallow, superficial, and materialistic society that values instant gratification and short term happiness over long term fulfillment.

As a result, many individuals are left feeling empty, alienated, and disconnected. In contrast, a greater focus on meaningful and fulfilling pursuits can help to combat feelings of emptiness and dissatisfaction. Instead of chasing superficial and short term pleasure, individuals can choose to focus on long term and meaningful goals, which can ultimately lead to a life lived with purpose and meaning.

Gal 6:1-2

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Romans 12:9-11

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
