Allen and Darius glared at their father once they saw how stressed out their sister was once they arrived at the nearest town, and the two surrounded their baby sister protectively from him, making the Duke put on another exaggerated hurt expression as he trailed behind his children.
Ignoring their fuss, I glanced over at Fion who was still a little grumpy as he helped the prince get off the carriage before my gaze slid over to Konrad who went to console the Duke with some friendly pats on the shoulder.
I probably stared too long, as I noticed Fion poke the prince's back, who jumped in surprise and glared at his knight. Fion then nodded his head at my direction, prompting Konrad to look.
Seeing that I was staring at them, Konrad smiled widely and waved.

I trudged along the town shops, following my older brothers. Konrad and Fion were still with us, following behind us quietly.
As for the Duke, he made up an excuse about checking the security with the Captain in charge of the town and broke away from our group.
We visited a handful of shops aimed towards discerning young noble ladies, and most of the shopkeepers would gasp in reverence whenever they saw my hair and face.
It was fun for the first two shops for dresses, shoes and accessories. It started to get tiresome on the third one, no matter what they say about having been imported from some far away territory.
My mind started floating away as it usually does when I find something boring or tedious. Looking out of the store window and ignoring the bickering happening between my brothers and Konrad about the item they want me to try on, I started to wonder how many of my scrapped and will never be used drafts also made it into this world.
The information regarding Fion and my mother were the last character background drafts I created before completely abandoning the story.
Though I don't remember giving Fion a name before. I guess this world took care of things I didn't bother to do.
The war that will break out two years from now, I could only think of the two possible reasons: the Pope has rallied the other territories to subjugate Konrad and his arrogance, or an unknown entity had seized the power of the Pope in hopes of destroying the lands.
Seeing how Konrad seemed to have made the world view him as an irritating man who only cares about his fiancée, the first reason has the highest chance of happening.
I turned back to look at Konrad, as he's the second anomaly in this story apart from me.
What changed him from a cold-hearted prince to an obsessive one? Did I subconsciously edit his character draft out of boredom?
Seeing that I was looking at him, Konrad flashed me a regal smile, holding up a necklace with a crystal blue teardrop pendant.
"You agree with me that this will go well with your earrings, right?" He asked cheerfully.
"No. I like the one Darius is holding." I automatically replied with a poker face, gesturing towards the emerald brooch.
Konrad seemed to deflate a little before nodding. "I'll concede then. I guess you chose the brooch because it reminds you of my eyes."
'How conceited can you get?' All three of the Carran children thought in annoyance.

Once we finally hit the streets again, there was some kind of quarrel happening not far from us. A small crowd had formed around the involved, making it hard for us to see who they were.
"That's unsightly. Where are the patrol guards?" Darius scowled. "They should break that up."
"They should be here any moment." Allen nonchalantly told him. "Come, we should find a restaurant for lunch. It's already late and Fiore must be starving."
I frowned at the three idiots in front of me, who are in a silent agreement to that statement as if they weren't bickering earlier that caused us to stay in one shop for too long.
"Wouldn't it be faster for the Interim Lord to break that up?" I pointedly asked Allen, who flinched at my tone. "How could the Interim Lord turn a blind eye to a small scuffle like this?"
"Fiore…you know that I can't attend to the smallest scuffle…"
"But you're willing to ignore the one right in front of your face?"
Darius and Konrad snickered at the dejected Allen, who then sighed heavily before walking over to the quarrelling group.
I watched him go as well, a little proud of myself that I convinced someone to do the right thing.
I froze when an unfamiliar sweet flower scent reached my nose. Stiffly turning to look at the other side of the street, I saw a young boy seemingly chasing something into an alley.
My heart skipped a beat.
Seeing the fleeting white fur tail the boy was chasing was something I was familiar with.
That creature shouldn't appear this early.
Most importantly, it should have been under Konrad's watchful eyes, as the crystal egg it hatched from was a betrothal gift of my mother to him!
I turned to glare at Konrad, who was taken aback by my sudden action, for being negligent about it and elbowed my way past Darius to chase the boy, not caring that the body I'm inhabiting is not really good with physical activities.
