Adrien!.... Have to meet Adrien!
Marinette stopped when she saw him, hanging around Plagg. She started walking over to the boys.
"Adrien, I've heard about what they're saying about you and Marinette," Plagg seemed worried as he talked with Adrien. "Is it... Is it...?"
"Don't worry. Don't believe anything these people say. It's not true," Adrien assured with a small smile. That was when he noticed Marinette walking up to them. "Well... Maybe we're about to get some explanation."
Marinette reached the boys and looked from one boy to the other. She then focused on Adrien as she began to explain. "Adrien, the words those people are saying are not true. I don't know where they got this idea. I just-"
"It's fine. Just some misunderstandings is all," Adrien shrugged. The whole thing didn't seem to bother him at all, and it made Marinette more relieved.
"Marinette, how can you say that?" A girl then spoke behind them. Marinette turned around to see the four Rumor Girls that Tiki had told her about. Alison walked forward. "Marinette, don't lie!"
"Um, I'm sorry, but I don't understand," Marinette frowned at them. Did these girls come to make trouble?!
"Marinette, we know it was all you!" Amelie Darcey yelled, pointing at her. She sighed and then spoke up again. "Celia, why don't you tell them. Tell them so Adrien will understand the real truth."
Celia Celeste nodded and walked forward. "Marinette was the one who told us to take pictures of you two and then post it online. She said she wanted everyone to know that you were hers."
"What?!" Marinette couldn't believe her ears. "When did I ever say that?! You all are lying!"
"Marinette, you've always been hoping that Adrien would ask you out, but once you saw how he was rejecting all these girls, your hope sank," Bette Cadence spoke. "So you paid us to take pictures of you two while you tried to get close to him by lying. We four aren't telling a lie."
Marinette clenched her fists. "I can't believe you girls are doing this. What good do you get from doing this to me?! You know I never did that, and I would never do that. If I liked Adrien, I would tell him myself instead of secretly taking pictures to share to the entire world. Don't make up a fake story!"
"Marinette, you're not the first girl that has done this to Adrien," Alison scoffed. "There was also this girl, Lila Rossi, who tried her best to get to Adrien but failed. Instead she humiliated herself and ended up leaving the school. Why don't you just fess up now and don't humiliate yourself."
"I. Didn't. Do. It!" Marinette shouted out again. She turned to Adrien to see what he thought of this, but Adrien kept quiet, as if he was not a part of the conversation. It scared Marinette at how he stayed quiet. What if he didn't believe her?
Finally Adrien just turned around and walked off away from the crowd.

She scrolled through her phone, her eyes darkening at the pictures on her screen. Adrien, I tried for months to get you but you didn't budge. What's so good about this girl, except for the fact that she is number 3 on the Popularity Board. I bet I can get higher than her if I tried. And it's not like she looks that pretty either. So why her??!!
The comments on the pictures didn't make anything better. Instead they talked about how Adrien and Marinette would make a cute couple. Some people were saying that Marinette was probably just using Adrien but those comments were probably from girls that had a crush on Adrien.
“Marinette is just using Adrien to get more popular. She plans on taking Adrien out of the Popularity Board and taking first place!

"I think you're right. Marinette had always wanted to be popular and take first place in the Popularity Board, and what other way to take Adrien down by fake dating him and using him! 8👍 163👎
"You girls that are hating just don't know what to do with your lives! Geez, leave the girl alone! 93👍 12👎
She groaned and placed her phone down on her bed. Adrien, why did you pick her over me?! Marinette, you may be lucky now, getting a lot of people on your side...
But you're not going to stay forever this lucky. Because I, Lila Rossi, will take you down no matter the cost!

The only thing Gabriel had ever dressed up for was his work, so dressing up to meet up with a woman was a shock to even himself. Usually he would just call her, or text her, and he still didn't know why he was doing this.
Maybe he just wanted to forget her, forget how she had broken his heart into a million pieces, leaving him to pick up all the pieces himself. He just wanted to forget how she had left him to take care of Adrien.
He took another deep breath. Gabriel, you're going to meet another woman. Stop thinking about her!
Once his mind was at ease, once he was sure that she wouldn't get in the way again, Gabriel stepped out of his room, going downstairs. He motioned for Gorilla to follow him and both men walked out the door.
"Don't worry. I'll be back home before Adrien. I've already asked Nino's parents to kindly bring him back home," Gabriel informed, as if Gorilla was worried about that.
Soon they were at their destination. Gabriel took another deep breath and stepped out, telling Gorilla to wait for him. Gorilla just nodded at him and Gabriel was on his way.
He didn't exactly know who he was looking for, as he had never met the woman before. So once he stepped inside the restaurant, a blonde woman raised her hand, waving at him.
I suppose that is her.
He sighed and started walking over to the blonde woman, and took a seat.
"Whew, at first I really thought you weren't coming," The woman heaved a huge sigh of relief. "But thanks for coming, Mr. Agreste."
"Yes, you can call me Gabriel," Gabriel informed. He didn't shake her hand when she held out her hand to shake. He just politely nodded and the woman nodded back, understanding.
"So, would you like to order anything?" The woman asked as a waiter walked up to them.
"I thought we were only here to talk about the assistant thing," Gabriel gave her a little glare and the woman laughed a little.
“Alright then, we're not ordering anything." She finally decided, and waved the water that was patiently waiting for them off. The waiter, whose name tag read "Hannah" just nodded and started walking away from them.
"Why don't you start by telling me your name?"
"You don't know my name?" The woman seemed to give him a little disappointed look. "Well, my name is Emilie Dawson."
"Emilie," Gabriel said the name, as if it was the first time. "Yes, I remember you now. You joined the designing competition last year and got 2nd place. Amazing job by the way."
"Oh thank you, Gabriel," Emilie smiled. "I'm a huge fan of yours. I've always wanted to work with you, I've always wanted to be just like you. I decided maybe by doing all that, I can start by being your assistant."
Gabriel nodded. His mind then went to Marinette, whom he had promised the assistant job to. It wouldn't hurt to have two assistants, right?
"Listen Emilie, I think I'll give you a chance," He spoke after a while. "You can come meet me at my mansion tomorrow morning with my other assistant."
"I'm so glad you're considering me, Gabriel. You just made my day."
Gabriel looked down after her words.
"Awe, Gabriel, this necklace is absolutely beautiful. You just made my day."
"Gabriel, are you okay?"
Gabriel looked up to face her and quickly nodded. Get her out of your head. "Well then, you're hired!"
"You don't really look okay," Emilie still looked worried, that was for sure. "Are you sick? Is anyone at home to take care of you?"
"No, I'm absolutely fine," Gabriel shook her off. "I guess we end it here."
"Oh," Emilie looked even more disappointed.
Gabriel stood up and turned around to leave, but then he stopped in his tracks and his eyes widened. His heart started beating fast, as he stared at the woman that was a distance away from him.
I'm not daydreaming, am I?!
The woman didn't seem to notice him as she stood up and started walking out the door.
Nathalie, is that really you?!
Gabriel suddenly felt his feet moving, running out of the restaurant to catch up to Nathalie. The woman who looked so very alike to her. Once he stepped out of the restaurant, he could see her face properly.
Nathalie, it is you! Nathalie, when did you come back?!
Gabriel let out a wide smile on his face as he continued to run after the woman. Do I still have another chance?
But then he stopped. The scene in front of him made him sick to his stomach. The voice of a little boy calling out "Mommy" made him clench his fists in total anger.
Nathalie walked up to a car, where a man and a little boy was waiting. She kissed the man and hugged the boy, before getting in the car with them.
She...
Gabriel looked down.
She already has a new family...
Gabriel felt sudden pain all around his body. He turned back around and headed to his limo with anger, not caring if people were pointing at him that Gabriel Agreste had finally stepped out of his mansion, and decided to go to a restaurant to meet a woman.
"Gorilla, drive!" Gabriel stared back at the car Nathalie had went into.
I don't get it.
Gorilla didn't say a word and started driving back home. As soon as they got there, Gabriel came out of the limo with such anger that he banged the door shut without a care in the world. He unlocked his mansion and walked inside.
Then he headed for his laptop.
Getting his laptop, he turned it on and quickly searched up one name.
Nathalie Agreste.
He scrolled down until he came to what he was looking for.
Nathalie Sancoeur
<used to be known as Nathalie Agreste>
Ex-husband - Gabriel Agreste
Husband- Austin Sancoeur
Children - Charile Sancoeur (male) & Doreen Sancoeur (female)
Gabriel banged on the table with his fist, the pain rushing in but him not caring.
You said you didn't want Adrien, but you rush to another man and have two kids with him. Nathalie, how could you?! I've always wanted to find you after you ran away but not like this!
Gabriel was about to shut his laptop when he ran into something interesting that made his eyes widen.
"Could it be possible that the reason Marinette has been rejecting boys and Adrien has been rejecting girls is because the two are secretly dating?"
Gabriel couldn't believe it. He stared at each and every one of the pictures on the screen, his eyes getting wider as he moved on to the next one.
When did all this happen?! Adrien, it's been 17 years. Don't tell me you've already forgotten all that I told you!
It triggered him to read what was on the screen. It triggered him even more once he read comments about the pictures.
The front door then opened and Adrien walked inside, making Gabriel step out of his room with his laptop.
"Good afternoon, Father," Adrien did his usual greeting, but Gabriel only clenched his fists as he showed Adrien his laptop screen.
"Care to explain this, Adrien?!"
Adrien gasped at the screen. "Father, it's all a misunderstanding. Marinette and I are nothing. Don't worry about it."
Even with the words Adrien gave him, Gabriel still didn't look convinced. "Adrien, if this is how it's going to be, then I'm abandoning you from seeing her again! We don't need these kind of news online for every eyes to see!"
"I'm sorry, Father."
"Stay away from any other girls as well!" Gabriel hissed. He knew he was being harsh, but after what he had witnessed today, he was letting his anger get the best of him. "I do not want to see you with any other girls, including Marinette. Don't forget what I told you!"
Adrien nodded.
"Argh!" Gabriel turned around and headed back to his room.
It's been 17 years. I was doing do well.
Nathalie, why did you have to come and break me all over again?!
