Tommy slammed the front door behind him, and kicked off his shoes before marching upstairs.

“Boys? Is that Tommy or Toby?” His mother called.

“Tommy!” Tommy yelled back before slamming his bedroom door and dropping his bag. He collapsed on his bed and pressed a pillow over his head desperately trying to forget today ever happened. He didn’t want to think about any of it. It was all absurd and nothing made sense. 

A soft knock sounded on his door, “Honey are you alright?”

“Yes, Mom! I’m just tired and want to sleep. Please!”

Silence followed until his mother released a soft sigh before responding with a meek okay and walking away.

Just as Tommy finally felt himself dozing off his phone started going off with what felt like a hundred notifications.
