A regular world, where all of humanity once settled, had the biggest war occur. A war that ended up wiping the majority of the world, a world once known to have many countries now exists as a mere vessel for three. All are located in different parts of the world.
Three people wearing lab coats, scientists from a classified team, kneeled in front of a tall figure, "Lady Shamhat, we are here to announce that our plans have exceeded your expectations. We expect Advent to be ready for use soon," one of them declared.
"Oh my, I certainly did not expect such a marvelous piece of news from your team, especially so soon," Lady Shamhat exclaimed.
One of the scientists stood to show her something, "Thanks to this, we found out how to achieve Advent, and I'm so proud to announce that we have no chance of losing this war Lady Shamhat!"
The scientist handed her a book, "Fate of the Choshire, huh? That's surely an interesting book title, it begs me to question where you found such a book," Lady Shamhat questioned.
Another scientist stands up, "Well, that's not all we found. There is plenty of information that you'd love to read in there, I'm sure," the scientist said.
Lady Shamhat stood from her throne, "I must see your achievement in person," she said as she walked away from the throne room.
In the blink of an eye.
The sun shone directly at them as they walked onto the bridge, the bridge to Kens, it was a huge, deserted path with wildlife managing to survive on the outskirts. Wildlife is not the only thing roaming through the path, there is the possibility of beasts roaming the area, and even military personnel.
Shortly after their meeting with Lilian, they decided to prepare and head out to Kens after sleeping in the bunker. "Enkita, this is your first trip, pal. The first time is very difficult to get through, but the bridge ain't that long, alright?" Kezdar said.
Lilian stared at Enkita and Kezdar, "I don't have cool powers like you two, but you two can keep me safe, right...?" Lilian questioned.
"You don't... have Harpe? I thought if you knew Kezdar, it was probably because you had one of these," Enkita exclaimed.
Lilian stared at the ground, "I have Hegira of course, weren't we all part of that war thing like a day or two ago?" she said as she laughed.
The Krester to Kens bridge is the safest bridge to go through in Choshire, but it is still deemed dangerous if you are not prepared enough or do not have the ability to fight beasts.
Two hours had passed, and the trip was already haunting, all they did was walk and walk, for two hours. It was nowhere near over.
"You guys really walked this whole path back and forth, for some money?" Enkita questioned as he started to feel exhausted from the walk.
They both looked at him and laughed, "Don't worry Enkita, as long as we avoid all the beasts and just walk through this path, we will be on Azura's lap in no time," Lilian exclaimed.
Kezdar looked at Lilian weirdly, "That sounds weird as hell, but I'm not the type to judge, you do your thing," he laughed.
Enkita watched both of them fight over a silly comment for a while, it was really his only source of entertainment. "Uli. Eve, and all of those who I used to know. Even though I was weak in front of you, I want to make the world right for you. That's the least I can do."
"Enkita! Are you there? Woo, it's your birthday!" Lilian yelled at Enkita trying to get his attention.
Enkita looked out of it, "Are you good? Despite resting a few times, you still look beat up," Kezdar looked at him, concerned.
"I'm fine. I just spaced out for a moment, I was thinking about stuff," Enkita exclaimed.
Kezdar pointed at guards stationed next to what appeared to be a gate, "Actually, it looks like we're where we need to be," he said.
The town of Kens is a smaller town constructed by three perimeters. Each of these holds a specific purpose, the town of Kens was in seemingly good condition in the earlier times of Choshire and has been kept secure for all the rich resources in the area.
Lyririe and Luitol have come to several agreements to keep the town of Kens secure, due to the condition of the towns the resources that Kens have are limited but can be replenished if done correctly.
A big machine with minerals smacks into a wall by the gate, "What the hell is that thing!?" Enkita exclaims after being shaken up from the impact.
The main method of transportation in Choshire is by walking but Kens has been using its technology to transport materials through towns called Skyriots, the Skyriots are big machines that use the side of the bridge to glue to and slide across down to another wall. Kens is not known for its technology, but they do have some smart ideas here and there.
The guards positioned at the gate stared at the group, "Due to the current political climate, the town of Kens has quarantined, and will be restricting entry and exit. As part of new indicate by ruler Azura," the guards recited.
Kezdar grabbed his bag, "I understand you guys are a little freaked out about the war stuff and whatnot but we're only here to discuss something something with the ruler. See, he asked me to deliver these," he said while smirking.
The Azura perimeter is where the ruler resides, he is the only voice for the people, they do not serve under any royalty, and run the town on their own with his guidance. Of course, he is not able to mandate a whole country by himself, so there are a few committees that help Azura lead Kens to a better world.
At the moment, there only exist 2 committees. One of them is known as the Elora, they are responsible for conducting military affairs, maintaining all precious materials in good condition, and tech development.
The guards recognized the materials in the bag, "We do acknowledge that these materials are of importance to the towns, and we have indeed heard of a mission being assigned to an outsider earlier by the Elora committee. On that note, we shall approve access to you in order to complete your assignment; however, your friends are required by Azura rule to be checked at the Dagrim perimeter beforehand," the guard ordered.
Kezdar was dumbfounded as his plan to let everyone by failed, "That girl, her name is Lilian, she has worked with the Elora people before, and is part of my assignment. She's been approved, so ya know do your thing with the guy there," he said.
Enkita watched as they were both approved access, "Kezdar, I don't know this place, moron, just - tell them I'm also part of your mission or whatever they call it," he said distressed.
Kezdar laughed, "Calm down, they just do you some checks, thas' all, nothing to stress over buddy, I'll wait for you at the Elora center," he said as he waved back.
The Dagrim perimeter is where the military operates, a strategic decision made by Azura and the Elora committee as the Dagrim perimeter contains several important districts; the bridge district which makes the entrance, the mining district filled with many precious resources and undiscovered relics, and the military district which mostly holds bunkers and a center for the Elora committee.
The gates opened beneath them, to show huge blue stones sticking from the ground on the sides of the red path leading to the center of the perimeter which also led to the other districts. Kezdar and Lilian went through the middle which led directly to Elora center, but Enkita needed to pass some tests beforehand in order to be allowed onto Kens.
The military district is where verification tests are run in order to identify the background of a person, the Elora committee had developed a verification system called ethereal blood transfusion. It used certain biological technology to detect blood patterns that are specific to those from other towns and even maybe other regions, as documented by earlier civilizations.
Enkita had finally made it to the verification post in the military district, with guidance from the guards he was made to stand on a symbol. The symbol on the ground would change to display the blood pattern, then the military members would use old documentation to match the pattern with the region it comes from.
As Enkita stood on the symbol, lasers pointed toward the sky from the ground, he felt shocked throughout his body, and the symbol changed to reveal the pattern.
"Commander, this symbol is different. We've never seen anything like this before."
Kezdar and Lilian had made it to the Elora center a while ago, "The verification usually doesn't take that long, I think!" Lilian said in a confused tone.
"Buy 1 and get 2 of these precious lazuli replica rings!"
"Did I get scammed? Where did that merchant go!?"
The Elora center was vivid, with many people walking through on their way to do something, "I can tell you two are outsiders! Would you like some of our signature Lazuli Cake? Named after the ethereal lazuli stones, our most precious minerals," a merchant called out to them.
Lilian was drooling as she looked at the cake, "Yeah whatever, give me three slices, I haven't had some in a while," Kezdar said as he stared at his wallet.
"That will be 3000 Ploqla per slice," the merchant said with a big smile on his face.
Kezdar laughed, "3000!? It's because we're outsiders, right? I ain't no idiot, I know how you guys work, last time I came here these were like 400 a piece, so treat us right," Kezdar called out the merchant.
The merchant seemed embarrassed, "I, oh well. Inflation hit Kens as fewer resources are selling due to war, we're even here risking our lives, I could - I could be home right now at the Biluda perimeter, but instead, I'm selling delicious cake to make a living, that's why prices are high at the moment, sir," the merchant declared.
Kezdar looked at Lilian, still somehow drooling as she stared at the cake, "Okay okay, look I know your excuses. I'll pay 1000 Ploqla a piece, sound good?" Kezdar tried to negotiate.
"Fine, you can have them at 1000, but let others know about my shop. I need more customers that aren't cheap," the merchant laughed.
Kezdar grabbed the slices of cake on a sheet of paper, from just looking at the cake you could tell how well it was made. The cake was covered in gold swirls and a blue top to represent the color of the stones.
Lilian had been standing still as she kept drooling for minutes, Kezdar pulled her back and showed her the slice of cake he got for her. "Holyholyholy derivative of frequencies in my mind, I can't withstand the flavors in this SCSDsdssdCAKE," she said as she devoured the slice.
An average-height woman walked toward the two while they had their cake, "Kezdar, Lilian. I was informed of your presence, you two surely never change," she laughed.
Lilian was focused on eating every single piece of the paper, "Oh, I, hello Elora, we were just getting cake before we headed down to your place. LILIAN, you are eating paper," Kezdar yelled at Lilian.
Lilian stared at Elora with a mouthful of cake, "Mmmhlo, wmwho mmre you?" Lilian asked.
Lilian gulped as she noticed who it was, "Dear Elora, hello it's me. I am Lilian, I was just enjoying some cake, well, I," Lilian said, embarrassed at what just had happened.
Elora laughed, "Oh you two, still the same as ever. Plan to stay here for a few days, weeks, months, or maybe even permanently? I heard you two wanted to meet ruler Azura, which I have to say won't be possible until tomorrow. The ruler is busy with political affairs and a discovery that was seen in the depths of the ethereal mines," she said.
"We will let you stay at the hotel in the Biluda perimeter until your visit with the ruler can be arranged, does that sound good with you two?" Elora said as she smiled.
Kezdar looked around, "That's fine yeah, but we got someone comin' with us this time, and he hasn't made it past the military district, so we're just kind of waiting for him. His name is Enkita," he said.
"Oh, I have been told about him as well, we will guide him to the hotel once he makes it through, it's getting late I think you all should rest, walking through the bridge is not an easy feat," Elora said as she pointed to the sign directing to the Biluda perimeter.
The Biluda perimeter is a section of Kens where everyone lives, a bunch of homes, hotels, and apartment complexes have been built in the area. The perimeter's entire purpose is to make living effective and efficient within a singular area.
Kezdar and Lilian looked at each other and agreed on what Elora offered, without speaking a single word, they headed toward the Biluda perimeter.
"If I do not return, set up a lament for me by the ruins. Beat the drums for me in the assembly places. Circle the house of the gods. Tear at your eyes, at your mouth, at your thighs. Dress yourself in a single garment like a beggar."
