“You got Windex?” I said looking back at him. He nods and grabs it from a shelf handing it to me.
“Thanks,” I said before grabbing some newspaper out of my coat pocket and the windex that was handed to me.
I begin to spray and wipe all the windows and glass surfaces. Once I finished I sigh in relief as I admire my work. The doorbell rings and I go to answer it to see a man with two bags.
“Order for James Callfin,” he said looking at a clipboard. I try not to laugh at James' cover name as the delivery man says it.
“Yes that is for me” I was about to grab the food before James came up behind me, hugging me as if we were a married couple. It startled me but I played it off as if it didn't and I was expecting it.
“I could have grabbed it you know” he says as I cross my arms.
“Yes but i am very capable,” i say looking away my face flushed from the way he was holding me. he chuckles at me and leans over a bit so he was looking me eye to eye.
“True, but I am paying for it” he says and all I could do was sigh and grab the food before entering the house, annoyed that I lost the argument and a face that was completely flushed now.
“How much is it?” James asked, looking at the man. the man seemed stunned by our little conversation but quickly snapped out of it
“It's half off for couples so $10.53,” the man says with a smile, James pays and closes the door before sighing in nervousness.
“Sorry for that, I know you were probably uncomfortable,” he said, giving me a soft smile and rubbing the back of his neck. I could tell he was a bit nervous about my response so I decided to make him more nervous.
