“Hey! Empty world to Melisa!”
My eyes popped open, hearing my name from Alferd’s… TOO close - way too close;
Alferd was nose to nose with me.
Like I said a thousand times way too close for comfort… His hazel eyes - so beautiful you can’t imagine.
I couldn’t stop.
I was still a big tomato.
I was still with my crushing eyes staring lovey-dovey at him before blushing again as I realised that I required his delectable breakfast.
I was thinking of my name, ‘Melisa’ … I didn’t have a name in the lab, it was mostly ‘girl’, they couldn’t bother name me…I guess. The same with Alferd that was called ‘boy.’
We gave each other our names - so it sounds so special when Alferd says it…
I’m sure there was some reason for my name.
A character in a book maybe.
If not a play.
Funnily enough, Alferd’s name’s spelling was so he didn’t sound like some randomking in history. Sometimes I’d laugh when I remembered that if he met someone and said the name I had given him,
they might say ‘‘Isn’t your name Alfred?’’
And he’d respond with “No it’s DEFINITELY Alferd!”
And I’d feel sotouched.
He cared so much about a name-giving-game we did years ago.
Honestly so did I.
“I love living with you…”
“Did you say something, Melisa?” He asked. Bringing me some soft pancakes as I had already had crispy last time. “NOPE, nothing!” I smiled shyly. Tasting the special ingredient in every bit.
My own special little pancakes he had made me.
And so I cherished another morning with him.
