“Do you ever take form as a human?”

I ask my master. Just as a matter of curiosity. Well, I don’t really think he is used to doing that. Then if so, my master is actually a human–

[I did do that in the past.]

Huh? W–wait, could it be…

“Uhh…Master. Then are you actually a human…?”

[What are you talking about? Can’t you see it clearly? I’m just a mere stone. But, ahem… I once had a magnificent body in the past. Don’t look down on my present self!]

“.............” I look at my master, with such distrustful eyes. 

[What? Does it sounds unbelievable to you?]

My master sounds offended. I probably should stop doing that. 

“Then, why am I turning into a stone? I thought humans here can change form as well.’

[When I brought you here, I also give you some of my power into your body.]

Give me some power in my body? Wait, what? I have been with this stone for a few months, how did I never know this? Then, could this be–?

“Magic power!”

Sorry, Master. I really can't hide my excitement in this one. The usual power fantasy trope sounds too close to reality–

[Oh, magic. it‘s something inherent. I doubt you could do that]

Way to spoil the joy, my stone master. 

I suddenly feel my whole body void of energy all of sudden. Probably the effect of not eating for three days starts to kick in. Time to hunt some food.

[Huh, gone already?]

My master stops me as I start to walk out of the cave. 

“Quiet sad but a human like me needs to eat, Master.”

I’m totally losing my interest after learning that I couldn’t use magic. Hah… There is still nothing interesting after being transmigrated here. 

[Sure, don’t forget your third training. You’ll have to go to the nearest town for that.]

I turn my body quickly. 

“Huh? I can do that already?!”

Suddenly my hunger left my body. Just where is this surge of energy comes from? I don’t care. The town… I can finally see what this world actually looks like! 

[I need you to familiarise yourself with this world. This world isn’t all about magic you know. There are whole other things to be excited about.] 

“Oh, really?”

What are these other things to be excited about? Uhh… knights, priestesses, elves, centaurs, orcs, goblins…. 

Hm? What a minute.

“ Master. I won’t get killed if I go there, right?”

[I can’t be sure about that.]
