Kuro got in and read his funeral requests he found on the coffee table. "'I want a copper coffin, flowers, and to be burried in the family cemetery. I also want people to celebrate my life, not cry for me.' Hm. Simple. Like that about him." He took the blue folder it's in and sat down. Family members were talking amongst each other.
Kuro tapped a glass cup. "Attention, attention." Silence filled the room. "I'd like to thank you all for coming to the meeting. As we all know, this is a very tough time."
A 19-year-old girl with Japanese and Danish facial features (her mother's Danish) started taking selfies in front of Kuro. Her name is Ino Ortaga, and she's Taiga's fame-hungry, money-grubbing, wannabe Instagram influencer cousin. "This'll go great on my Instagram."
To put a little backstory on Ino, she bled Szilveszter dry financially, whereas Ryuuji and Taiga had to earn their keep. With the income he's got from military, his construction company, and boxing prize money he saved, he allowed it despite knowing he's spoiling her. McDonald's money? He's got her back. Gucci? He helped. Versace? He couldn't say no.
Kuro said calmly, "Now's not the time to make selfies. This isn't The Chainsmokers."
She rolled her eyes. "Just read the will already." A few others repeatedly chanted, "Read the will! Read the will!"
Taiga exploded, "Daddy wouldn't give you bastards a dirty napkin!"
They all started bickering like spoiled children. Taiga was bickering with them but for the right reasons. She already had to earn what she wanted, so she wasn't taking any gup from the money grubbers. Ryuuji jumped in. "Taiga AND I had to earn our keep. We're not putting up with anyone asking for the will!" He quieted the room for a bit, and he did it without swearing. (He doesn't like to swear.) It started back up. Ryuuji and his cousin Yamcha sighed. Yamcha said, "You tried."
Kuro picked up Szilveszter's shellfish hammer and banged on the coffee table REALLY HARD, breaking the hammer upon impact. "Listen up! I'm NOT gonna read the will to ANYONE. It'll be read after the funeral. You're lucky I'm helping you guys out! Had it not been for Taiga, Id walk out right now. The next person who asks about WILL shall be asked to leave! Why can't you just give more than what you take? Hell, for all I know, he probably donated the money to a charity. Any questions? Any concerns?"
A 7-year-old, Japanese girl raised her hand. "Uhhh, Mr. K? Where's is Uncle Szilveszter gonna go after he gets burried?"
"He's going to that boxing gym in the sky," Taiga replied to her calmly. "Yes, Orta, that's where he's going. Also, you're so cute!" She tickled her little cousin a bit.
Kuro went on. "I need some to get food and drink, some to do decorations, some to get ice, someone to dress Szilveszter for his funeral..."
Taiga raised her hand. "I'll dress him up. Where's the funeral home?"
"It's 4 blocks north downtown." He hands her a sheet of paper with the name of it. "This one's the only one that does copper casket sprays."
Yamcha raised his hand. "I'll drive her, but I need you too. You know, since you have the papers."
"Gotcha." He raised his thumb up. "Paper will be here to sign for contribution to the funeral. It'll be Saturday. Any questions? Comments? Meeting adjourned." Kuro put on his GRAVEDGR jacket and went to Yamcha's beat-up, burgundy 6-4. Because of his MMA career, he was able to get it imported from the USA.
