It was a rainy Saturday at the funeral chapel. It was a white, small, stereotypical church. Family members showed up black whilst wearing copper corsages, Szilveszter's favourite colour and also the colour of his hair before he grew old.
Kuro and Taiga's friends (except Ayumi) were at the funeral as well. Ayumi texted her that she had to work.
Taiga texted, "You should report your boss Monday. I understand. Your boss can be a reeeal pain." Nozipho hugged Taiga. She told the classmates who came, "Thanks for the support. I'm taking it a bit better."
Ryuuji was in his black suit, white dress shirt, and copper corsageHe, along with Kuro, Yamcha, and Bélá (Szilveszter's maternal cousin who flew from Hungary), were pallbearers.
Kuro, Orta, and Taiga looked in the open coffin again. Ino scooted them away just to continue her Instagram selfies. Pissed, Taiga snatched the phone. "Gimme that! Using Daddy's death for likes and clicks! You're too flat to be an Instagram model anyway." She then grabbed her black Versace dress.
"Hey! Uncle bought this for me!"
"Fuck off, Ino!" She sat her entitled, spoiled cousin down.
Orta blurted, "Cousin Taiga, use Snatch! It's super effective!" She danced around a little. "L," she said to Ino. "Whatever that means... Heard kids at my school were saying that."
"L means 'loss,'" Kuro chimed in. "Gotta love Internet slang."
The celebration of life started. Kuro took the mic. "Good morning, everyone. We're here to celebrate the life of Szilveszter Zoltánovics. He is lost, but he's not forgotten. We're not here to mourn; we're here to celebrate the fact he's going home!" Most of everyone clapped.
Kuro picked up his paper. "Does anyone want to say wirds7? It's gonna be a short and sweet funeral, per Szilveszter's request. He told me that if it's longer than an hour, he's coming out the grave!" Everyone laughed.
Ino pushed Kuro out the way. She put eye drops in her eyes to fake cry. Ryuuji rolled her eyes. "Here we go," he murmured to Yamcha.
She started making it look like she's ugly crying. "Uncle Szilveszter was a good man! He gave me money and love and support, and you'll be missed, and... Follow me on Instagram!" She went to go sit down. Everyone's jaw dropped, and there was a sea of facepalms and shaking heads.
Kuro was speechless. He thought to himself, 'Is this bitch SERIOUS? Lord, she's so pretentious! Anything for the Instagram likes...'
Kuro got up to speak. "I wasn't sure about Szilveszter, given that he's very picky about who his daughter dates, but despite the fact I didn't have a car or a high-paying job, he saw something in me. Just when we were warming up to each other, the sad news hit me! But oddly enough, he was fine with it. Start to wonder what life coulda been had he still been with us. I'll carry on your memory, and his daughter's in good hands." He sat down in a white pew.
Taiga got up next. "Daddy was a hard man to get along with ever since Mom died, but he was always there to help me out regardless. At first, I didn't understand why we had to earn our keep, but it made me a better person. Hope he's watching over us with mama..." She sits back down and dries her eyes. She then holds her arms out for a hug; Kuro did so.
After everyone else spoke, the copper coffin with a flag draped over it was, getting taken to the family cemetery.
Orta was looking at gravestones. Ryuuji said, "Don't step on people's graves, Orta. Let's go see Taiga." He extended his hand out to hold hers. He took her to Taiga. He whispered, "Keep her from stepping on people's graves. I know she didn't know."
She looked up to Taiga. "You're nicer than my sister."
"Your sister's the heartless epitomy of narcissism, entitlement, and Instagram addiction."
"She's taking selfies by gravesites again. I don't see how people follow her, on Instagram," Orta told her. "Are they just as braindead...?" Taiga starts laughing, but her laughing gets cut short as soldiers shoot the sky with their guns twice. The coffin is getting lowered in the ground, as everyone gets to their cars and whatnot.
