After a dull ten-minute ride, the trio arrives at station 14. During this time the three went through introductions the woman was named Aliza, and the thirteen-year-old boy was named Ellis. The tram slowed to a stop, but the doors didn't open instead blue smoke rose from the ground to form the scaley blue beast from before. The beast addressed the three.
"Well done, well done. The three of you worked so hard to survive and one of you even got a secret item. Now from here on out everything is going to get a lot harder. But do not fret players the souls that fill the earth or what you call 'gods' want to bless you."
Alex remembered this experience as one of his favorites. It gave him access to some of his characters strongest abilities. Now he had to make the choice in order to survive. A GUI window appeared in front of him.
[Soul Selection]
Lythren *
Python *
Siren *
Taurus *
fifty others *
Most of these names Alex remembered except for one. Lythren to his knowledge was never in TRC but was now at the top of his list of available souls. Alex was about to select the fifty others tab when...

{Users: Lythren,Alex}
L-Don't hit that button. I can promise you something they can't.
A-That's what they all say
For a moment Alex was surprised by the sudden message. In all of his time playing the game never once had a soul reached out to a player.
L-The other souls never reach out to players.
A-...
L-I want you to choose me. I was impressed by your intelligence and strength.
A-As were many others. what is it that you're offering me in return for picking you
L-I will give you one [Class Pack] and one [Ability Card]
The two items that are essential for growing a character in the early game, the souls only offer one or the other. The standard being the [Ability Card] this is a one-time use item that gives the player their choice of one ability. While usually the more popular souls give out the [Class Pack] this is an item that gives basic gear and a skill based upon the packs theme. Alex knew this was a deal that was good. Too good there had to be some unseen clause to this deal.
A-And what do you want from me
L-an entertaining game
Alex grinned at this response. The souls only ever want to spread their legend or enforce their ideals. But this soul, asked for entertainment from his player. Alex selected Lythren and prepared to overcome the chaos and turmoil that this world will throw at him.
[Soul Selection]
Chosen soul: Lythren
Gifts: [Tacticians Pack], [Ability Card]
Alex first used his [Tacticians Pack].
[Tacticians Pack]
1* black robe
1*iron dagger
{Skill: Insight lvl 1}
Alex was startled. Insight is a skill that grants the player the ability to read surface level thoughts of an opponent. A good skill to have when facing off against another player or a strong opponent. on top of that he received an iron dagger and a black robe. The black robe allows the user to temporarily turn invisible while in darkness. Next he held up his [Ability Card]
[Ability Selection]
Combat Prowess *
Sneak *
Blink *
Magic Prowess *
Telepathy *
Alex already knew which one he wanted {Combat Prowess} it's an ability the grants the user the ability to use any weapon with minor proficiency. He was about ask his companions about what they had chosen when the [Golden Chalice] began to glow.
*DING*
(Golden Chalice has been transformed into a new skill)
{Skill: Player list lvl 1}
Alex had never even heard of this skill before.
"Player window"
A GUI appeared in front of Alex.
[Player Window]
Name: Alex Joseph
Age: 22
Soul: Lythren
Skills: {Insight lvl 1}{Player List lvl 1}
Abilities: {Combat Prowess lvl 1}
"Skill {Player List Lvl 1}"
{Player List}
(Passive)
While looking at another player this skill allows you to see their character window. This skill cannot be blocked. This ability can be detected with a {Detection Skill}. Additional benefits may be acquired after leveling this skill up.
"let's try this skill out"
Alex thought.
He looked towards Ellis and off to the side a small stat window appeared.
[Player Window]
Name: Ellis Atkinson
Age: 13
Soul: Icarus
Skills: {Flight Lvl 1}
Abilities: {}
Icarus was known for flying too close to the sun. As such he tended to grant the skill {Flight lvl 1}, at the lower levels the skill only lasts for 3 minutes. As the name would suggest the skill grants the player the ability fly. When the skill time runs out you will just fall with no safety net or anything, so if you are too high up you will fall to your death. Even still it is one of the best mobility skills, giving the player a quick shortcut to the high ground or a quick escape from danger. The number ten player in all of TRC chose Icarus as their soul.
Alex then proceeded to look towards Aliza. Once again a small stat window appeared.
[Player Window]
Name: Aliza Strickland
Age: 23
Soul: Athena
Skills: {Combat Assessment lvl 1}
Abilities: {}
Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom. She was a brilliant tactician and skilled fighter. She tended to give a [Warriors Pack]. One of the easiest ways to acquire {Combat Assessment lvl 1}, the skill allows you to accurately judge the difference in skills and stats of two players. While this skill is good when it comes to support the skill itself has no real purpose in combat.
Both his companions had abilities that would be useful in the early quests. Icarus would most likely give a few {Side Quest} during the easier [Main Quest]. Athena will give a much slower progression, and will usual give a {Side Quest} during the harder [Main Quest].
The blue beast spoke.
"It would appear everyone has selected the soul they wish to guide them. As such I will now distribute the coin rewards you will be given one thousand coins per kill."
*DING*
(You have received twenty-two thousand coins)
*DING*
(the [Stat Window] has been unlocked)
"Stat Window"
[Stat Window]
Strength: lvl 1
Endurance: lvl 1
Agility: lvl 1
Stamina: lvl 1
Mana: lvl 1
(You can use coins to level up your stats. Levels must be purchased in order. Each level costs 1,000 coins * the level number)
The blue beast spoke once again
"With that the rewards have all been distributed, and the next [Main Quest] is about to begin. From here on out these quests will exponentially harder I wish you the best of luck"
The beast vanished again.
Alex addressed his companions.
"Are you all ok"
Aliza responded first.
"I'm alright, still alive at least"
Ellis spoke up.
"Do we really have to keep going?"
Alex responded coldly.
"Yes, but I promise you I will beat this game."
*DING*
A new window appeared.
[Main Quest]
Clear conditions: occupy one of the twelve bases in the Ozarks
time limit: 1 month
Reward: 5,000 coins
Failure: Death
Summary: many beasts have begun to swarm in the cities of the Ozarks. You must fight through the hordes of beasts and get to a [Base]. The level of the beasts will be between level 1 and level 4. Beasts are unable to enter a [Base], however any other player can enter the [Base] at any moment. There will be no penalty for killing another player.
Alex spoke.
"Alright it's time for us to go"
The trio exited station 14. Walking down the stairs the sound of Wolves, and other beasts can be heard. Upon leaving the staircase they were greeted with the smell of smoke and a few burning buildings. Reaching towards the sky are twelve beacons of light. The two closest beacons were a vibrant white, and a few of the others were flashing between a vibrant green and a vibrant white. They stepped out onto the street, and a low rumbling resounded through the city.
