Chapter 15 – The god of power and knowledge
Kai waited on the lobby as the meeting took place within the staff members and principal. Two other members of the staffs were even in attendance for the meeting. After an hour every members walked out of the room with a bland look on their face.
“Oh! Kai looks like you have grown a bit.” Said a lady professor as soon as she saw Kai.
“That’s because you are away for two years Ms. Aisling.”
“I wished they would kill her…” said a hateful lady voice.
“Ms.Felicit-“
Three staff members including Professor Draven walked out the lobby and disappeared. Kai stood there speechless wondering what happened in the staff meeting.
“My dear boy~.” Said a soothing voice from behind Kai.
“Gramps?”
“What happened? How about Clara?”
“Haha… She is free to go. She and her family you brought in. She is welcome to study here if she wished, but her mother and her elder sister must work here as a staff for their punishment.”
“That’s a good news, I better tell Aide-“
“Could you wait for some time, I have to talk to you.” Said the principal in a blunt voice.
“Y-yes.”
They both began to walk down the hallway as they conversed.
“Well, Kai aren’t you a good egg… Waiting here worried about Clara for Aiden’s sake.”
“It’s not that just, gramps… she, I saw her past….. She was a vi—“
“Victim?”
“Yes.”
“I saw that too. How the villain had manipulated her and her family. Poor souls they are.”
“Leaving them aside Kai, I’m here to talk about you.” Said principal as he sat down on the empty floor midway.
“About me?” Kai asked in puzzlement as sat next him.
“You… you try to avoid people but help them when in need… like a good human that is.”
“No Gramps… it’s just because they are close to me. It’s purely a selfish reason. I’m not a good person.”
“Hmm… is that so?” Asked Principal with a doubtful face.
“Selfishness, favoring, it is all ok if you have it kid… even me being principal of a school, I should act impartial… but look I treat you as if my own grandson, hehe..” Said principal as he laughed in a refined manner.
“We are neither a hero nor a villain, we simply maintain balance of the nature. So we just need humans who make biased choices, not heroes.” Added principal.
“We need people like you who can prioritize your closest even when abandoning the wellbeing of the human kind or people like me who are willing to sacrifice countless human life including the closest for the wellbeing of human kind.” Said principal as he looked at distant.
“But what’s said and what’s done, you are really a good person…~” Said principal as he tickled Kai.
“Hehe…Gramps, tickling me now… I’m too old for that. It looks creepy.”
“Hm… you weren’t rebellious when in middle school~.” Went principal with a gloomy face.
“Hm… Hm… listen, listen, looks like you wanted to know how powerful I am.” Asked, excited principal.
“Yeah, of course I would want to know… look… you even did a weapon haul like that… mind blowing…” Kai too, became exited to hear about principal’s power.
“You know, I’m too overpowered, the high table has banned me from participating in a battle.” Said Principal in a silent hushed voice.
“And, and, I’m the only person who has broken the dimension veil. Like literally broken it”
“Wow, those truly are some amazing feats.” Said Kai amazed at principal’s powers.
“That’s the end of the story.”
“Uff… was that a story, old man?”
“Goodbye~ I’m busy you see… I just wanted to spend some quality time with my grandson, hehe.” Said principal as he stood up to leave.
“Yeah, Byee~” waved Kai as the principal instantly vanished in a second.
“Hmm… walked in, said he wanted to talk to me, gave advice, flexed himself and just disappeared… that old man…”
Note: Principal looks like an old man to Kai because he treats Kai as his grandson and Kai sees him as a grandparent. Principal looks like a normal middle aged version of himself to his college and students. If someone else viewed him as a kid, his kid version is what they will look at.
Aiden walked in as Kai was about to leave.
“Hey Kai, how did it go?”
“Well, you can go talk to her yourself, you see.”
Aiden rushed to the basement room where she is being held captive. All the weapon pointed at her was completely gone. She sat there silently. As soon as Aiden entered the room she began to cry.
“Clara!”
“A-Aiden?” Answered Clara with her voice breaking.
Aiden walked up to her and wiped her tears.
“I’m sorry…I’m sorry…I’m sorry…” She kept repeating it again and again.
“It’s alright… I’m not dead after all… hehe.”
“I’m sure he will hate me. Despise me… I deserve that. I really, really do deserve that. Yes, I des—”
“So…um Clara….? Um…” stood Aiden with a calm and soothing smile on his face.
“what is he smiling for… please hit me or curse me or even lash out at me, please hate me… Please ~ do something don’t just stand there…”
“Please hit me, or Lash out at me… please stop…please stop smiling as if nothing happened. You idiot… you retard.” Screamed Clara as she began to cry again.
Aiden walked close to her and kneeled as he wiped her tears again.
“Um… Clara I guess you are free to go now…”
“…Well, um… if you up for it…”
“…No... As a redemption for trying to kill me…Please go on a date with me!?.. So um… yeah?” Aiden asked her to a date once again while he held on to his neck in a slight embarrassment.
“Is he really an idiot… asking me for date? Even after I tried to kill him… this idio—“Thought Clara as she slowly lift up her head to look at Aiden. The moment she saw Aiden, Aiden looked like he was sparkling to her. Her tear filled eyes dilated, her heart began to race fast. Soles of her legs and palm of her hands started to sweat.
“I love him.”
The End.
