I jump backward, they saw me? How? If I'm invisible and deadish they shouldn't be able to. And yet they did.
The room rumbles, a howl crumbling sections of the floor. Bursting through the wall, a gigantic monster several times larger than anything I've ever seen. It looks like a wolf-bear hybrid that developed rabies and other diseases. It has one too many legs and more than enough teeth. It's sharp whip-like tail slash marks into the ground. It's invisible to everyone around, but they still instinctively avoided the area the Monster rests in.
Scarlet red eyes search, landing upon me. A slow sly grin spreads across its face, a hungry howl shaking the world around.
My instincts scream for me to run. I leap through the window phasing through and into the traffic ahead. The Monster reacts just as quickly, gaining ground. I am barely five feet forwards when it leaps over me, extended claws preparing to render my life.
A dark shape saves my life, slamming itself right into the Monster. it shuffles away, a mess of feathers, whirling towards me claws reaching out. I scream, feeling it lift me high above the buildings.
It took me a bit to gain the confidence to look below.
We are above the clouds, the sun ahead sleepily slipping from its roost, rays shifting from a brilliant yellow to a dulling orange and red with the occasional purple scattering across the drifting clouds. I reach for it in awe. How beautiful.
the creature who saved my life is no other than the Raven. Just in a much larger form. it helps me back into my hospital room nuzzling my neck. "Thank you, for guiding and saving me... But why did you save me?"
The Raven caws, lifting its wings. Under a few feathers is a Hello Kitty bandage. I blink several times before reaching for it. I fell in love with a Raven when I was a kid. I met it a long time ago when it had fallen out of its nest as a baby. I, in my ignorance, put a bandaid under its wings. Mom and Dad did scold me for that, they also helped me visit the little bird every day, all the way to its release back into the wild. It would seek me out, giving me many gifts. After moving, I never saw the bird again.
"thank you... thank you so much!" I say hugging it. It lightly nuzzles me back, rustling its wings and heading right for the sky.
