‘Shit’ Mei sank down to the floor about to cry, wishing that her eldest brother was there to tell her she can make it through high school. (Knock, knock) ‘Hey Mei, it’s Hanta and Shoto. Can you open the door please?’
‘Fine, but give me a second’ Mei got up quickly, and grabbed a tissue from her desk. ‘Alright come in’ She opened the door slightly and went to sit on her bed. ‘I just came to see if you are alright. You sounded pretty scared.’
‘Yeah I’m fine Hanta, thank you’ With that, he left to give his new friend some space. ‘Shezumei, why don’t you tell people? They're gonna find out! What happens when people see you hanging around our parents?’
‘I know Shoto, but I’m scared.. On how they’d react that is. I don’t want to be “Endeavor’s daughter” I want to be a random person wanting to be a hero. He hurt us, he hurt you, Shoto.’ Tears were streaming down both their faces. ‘I know you miss Touya. I do too, but we can’t change the fact he’s gone Mei.’ There was a brief pause. ‘Do you want to see mom? I’m sure she’d love to see you again. I know you’ve been busy, so I’d thought now’s a good time to ask.’ She wiped her brother's tears, then her own. ‘Alright get ready to go. It’s Saturday right? Wanna get some happy soba hahah’ Shoto swatted at his sister ‘Shhh don’t call it that anymore!’ Shezumei danced around. ‘Oh? Will I embarrass you? BY SAYING HAPPY SOBA!’
‘Shezumei!’ Shoto said, tossing a pillow in her direction. There was a knock at the door. Shezumei opened the door, and Bakugou was visibly weirded out when he heard Shoto Todoroki laugh. ‘Look nerds I don’t know what’s happening here but keep it down. Also, what the hell is happy soba?!’ ‘UH WE’LL KEEP IT DOWN okthanksbye-‘ Mei slammed the door in Bakugou's face ‘oh shit. She’s screwed.’ Said Mina, nudging Ochako. Bakugou walked away like nothing had happened. ‘What. The. Hell!? He didn’t even scoff?!?’ Mina hung her head in confusion. ‘Phew, that was a close one, Shoto.’ Mei giggled. ‘That’s the first time I’ve laughed since we were little..’ Shoto stood up and gave Mei a hug.
‘Thank you, I needed that laugh,’ Mei hugged him back. ‘It was nice hearing you laugh again Sho.’ Mei saw him out and after dinner they saw their mom at the hospital, went home, and got changed to go to bed. The next morning, Mei woke up, and got ready for school. ‘Hey, Ochako! Ready for school?’ Mei closed her door and ran up to Uraraka who was just heading out of her room. ‘Yep, all ready to go. How are you so cheerful this early in the morning?’ Shezumei shrugged, and walked with Ochako to class. ‘Hey! Mei, Uraraka, wait up!’ Hanta Sero came running up. ‘Good morning ladies!’
‘Morning Hanta!’ ‘Morning Sero’ the girls said. ‘Let’s go before Mineta shows up-‘ Sero rushed the girls along. When they got to the school, Mei split from the group. ‘Sorry guys, I'll be there in a second. I have to go talk to principal Nezu.’ The two waved at Mei and they went their separate ways.
-Knock knock- ‘Hello principal! It’s me, Mei!’ Nezu sipped his tea ‘Come in Mei.’ She opened the door and set a pair of keys on Nezu’s desk. ‘Sir, I think I’m ready.” Nezu nodded and called Mr. Aizawa to the office. ‘Yes sir?’ Aizawa said. ‘As you know this is Mei but since we were paid enough to not put any of her details on paper I’d like her to formally introduce herself, with permission from her.’ Mei shook Aizawas’ hand. ‘Mr. Aizawa my name is Shezumei Todoroki and my quirk is cold flame.’ Aizawa’s eyes widened in surprise. ‘Nice to finally meet you miss Todoroki.’ That felt weird because he’d gotten so used to saying mister Todoroki. ‘I'm not surprised you’re part of the Todoroki family, you’re new and you’re already one of my best students.’ -ring ring- ‘Sir, may I take this? It’s my mom and she doesn’t call unless something happened.’ Nezu nodded and Mei stepped out. ‘Hello? Why are you calling?’ Rei answered quickly. ‘Mei, my baby!’ Shezumei started to tear up, Rei asked how Mei was doing and they talked for a couple minutes. ‘Mei, I know this is sudden but you’re his favorite sibling, so it’s only right I tell you. Do you remember when Touya had Marie Antoinette syndrome? Well, his hair eventually turned completely white, and I think he’s still alive.’ Mei was shocked at what she’d just heard, she was certain he was gone, but she knew her mom wasn’t crazy. ‘W-what? How do you know?’ There was a bit of a pause. ‘Before Touya left… he had severe burns the same as that villain, Dabi has but less worse.. I saw his mugshot and guess what was peeking out from his roots at the back of his head?.. White strands, Mei. He even had a one-on-one talk with Enji. I don’t know what he said, but you need to look into this villain.’ Mei was silenced with confusion and amazement that her mother did all this research. ‘I will mom, I’ll get to the bottom of Touya’s death.’ Shezumei was teary eyed, but she managed to notice through all of that, that Mr. Aizawa was leaving to teach his class. ‘I’m sorry sir, it was my mother.. Do you mind if I ask some questions?’ Nezu took a sip of some tea. ‘Sure, why not; you’re already late as it is.’ Mei sat down on the chairs in front of Principal Nezu’s desk. ‘So, what do you know about that villain Dabi?’
