A few days had passed since Celena's meeting with Silfie, her fairy companion—or whatever she considered her to be. Three weeks had gone by since her surreal adventure inside the book, and rumors had spread throughout the kingdom about unusual fairy sightings and a sudden surge in couples getting married. All thanks to Celena's meddling, of course. She received credit for her matchmaking skills, though she couldn't fathom how the information spread so rapidly without any reliable means. The mysterious network or communication system used by the nobles remained an enigma. The speed at which people caught wind of her activities unnerved her.
'I mean, seriously, the people here don't have internet. How in the world did it spread so fast?' Celena anxiously pondered, nibbling on her thumb as she followed Silfie through the dense forest, still wearing her fairy costume.
Recalling the reactions of the people she had paired with their supposed soulmates, Celena couldn't help but find amusement in their responses. However, one reaction stood out in particular—pure adoration bordering on craziness. The guy hadn't even met the gal yet, but damn, his response was to pant like a dog in heat. How did she know they hadn't met? Because the man kept muttering strings of promises to find her. He was a f*cking psycho. She backed out of that match the moment the man's eyes took on a manic gleam.
Celena thought to herself, 'NOPE, HELL NO, AM I DEALING WITH THAT RED FLAG SH*T.'
Another victim of her matchmaking responded with disbelief. Celena was far from happy when the woman called her a DEMON and threw rocks at her. It was hardly the gratitude she expected for helping the woman find her love. Lastly, she had encountered a rejection-type reaction, and she fervently hoped she wouldn't have to deal with one like that ever again. The man's aggressive behavior had nearly choked her, and she shuddered at the thought. If it weren't for her quick reflexes and escape, her family would likely be planning a funeral by now. Sighing at the unintended consequences of her "brilliant" idea to play cupid, she continued to walk.
"This fairy world better be worth it," she muttered under her breath, her mind preoccupied with conflicting thoughts. Silfie, on the other hand, excitedly chatted about the breathtaking sights Celena would soon witness in the fairy kingdom. The air grew colder as they journeyed, and the night enveloped the forest, casting an eerie ambiance. The only visible company Celena had were the small golden specks of light emitted by Silfie, flickering in the darkness. fueling Celena's wild imagination. She swore that if something popped out right at that moment, she'd die from a heart attack. The feeling intensified as the trees seemed to close in around her.
"Are we there yet? It's freezing out here, you know," Celena hurriedly spoke, moving closer to Silfie in search of warmth. However, she was perplexed when she realized Silfie didn't radiate any warmth as she had expected. Celena momentarily raised an eyebrow, questioning if fairies were meant to be like this. Nevertheless, she dismissed it as a natural characteristic of their kind.
"We're almost there," Silfie excitedly replied, her crimson eyes fixed on Celena. She quickened her pace until they reached a small clearing amidst the towering trees. Silfie stopped at the edge of a cliff, and Celena's heart skipped a beat. Below them roared a ferocious river.
"Do you trust me?" Silfie asked, extending her hand toward Celena.
Celena's face drained of color as she stared at Silfie, then down at the sheer drop of the cliff. If she was interpreting the situation correctly, Silfie meant for her to jump. This was not her cup of tea, but she swallowed hard, her trembling gulp echoing the rapid thumping of her heart. In a moment of both trepidation and surrender, she nodded, her gesture laced with reverent acceptance. Intertwining their hands, Celena braced herself for the impending jump. But instead, something astonishing occurred—she shrank to a mere four inches, now floating alongside Silfie. The once towering trees morphed into colossal giants, dwarfing her to the size of an ant. She could practically sit on a flower, and the plant wouldn't mind her weight!
"This is so awesome," Celena's eyes shined as her sights were set upon the magnified world around her, it was like gravity didn't exist as she hovered.
Looking at her fairy companion, Celena gave Silfie a thumbs-up with a cheeky smile. However, her expression quickly changed when Silfie tugged them both to the edge of the cliff and went down. Celena shrieked as she saw the approaching river, her pink eyes trembling. Silfie, on the other hand, remained composed and laughed at her.
Amidst the fall, Celena panicked, tightening her hold on their intertwined fingers. She realized she couldn't swim and prepared for the upcoming crash. Just as she closed her eyes, she felt a brief connection to an adjacent barrier. It was as if she had entered a bubble and promptly passed through it, taking a moment to breathe. she stood up and was dumbfounded. The once roaring river had transformed into a silent lake. Across the lake, she could see a cave where the cliff had been. Everything on the other side of the lake appeared upside down. Celena locked eyes with Silfie, silently questioning what had just happened.
"Long story short, fairies once lived peacefully with humans until they became interested in our special magic. They started hunting us and forcing our ancestors into slavery," Silfie explained, gazing up at the red moon and sighing.
''A brave fairy couldn't bear the misery inflicted by humans and sought protection from the Sun god, Helios. He did, however with a price, you see the Sun God loved humans more than any living being on the planet. Seeing that it involved them, He made a daring move" Silfie continued, facing Celena sadly.
'' The price was, for fairies to have the ability to shapeshift into the person, who the individual should love, and to protect an item given by the God himself, the foolish fairy thinks nothing of it at first, seeing it was a harmless price, but it backfired on us, we didn't think humans will make a fuss about it, but we got this cool hidden world in return though!" She faced Celena with a smirk.
"..."
'Okay, that's a lot to take in' Celena thought with an awkward grin.
With Silfie as her guide, Celena embarked on an extraordinary journey through the Fairy Kingdom. Lush meadows stretched out before her, adorned with vibrant flowers of every hue. Glittering butterflies danced in the air, their wings reflecting the sunlight. The trees were taller and more majestic than any she had ever seen, their leaves shimmering in shades of emerald and gold. Ethereal melodies filled the air, sung by invisible voices that seemed to come from all directions. As they moved to another area, Celena noticed a small civilization where fairies were bustling around. At the heart of the site stood a lone palace made of crystals. She could see a house-like structure attached to trees, some even suspended.
Celena supposed that's where the fairies lived. Looking closely at the buildings, she noticed they were made out of coconut husks with roofs of leaves, giving them a rustic and whimsical appearance. As she examined the cottages, she inadvertently bumped into a child, breaking her gaze. She looked at the child with concern and quickly apologized before running after Silfie. Unbeknownst to Celena, the child assessed her with furrowed brows.
Once she caught up with Silfie, she extended a hand, and they intertwined their fingers. Instantly, they hovered in mid-air as Silfie tugged Celena towards one of the huts. Silfie opened the door and invited Celena inside. Excitedly, Celena looked around but was disappointed to find only a haystack. There were no tables, chairs, windows, or anything else—just a door and a bed.
"um,...tables and chairs?" Celena asked, feeling confused.
"We don't eat"
"Dresser and mirror???"
"oh, those things that you use to store different clothes right? We don't own possessions as humans do. As for the mirror, we just check our reflection on the lake," Silfie replied.
"What about hygiene products, skincare, and cosmetics?" Celena frantically asked, clutching Silfie's shoulders and waving her back and forth with wide eyes.
"Stop that! You're making me nauseous. As for that, I'm already fabulous, bae," Silfie responded, striking a pose like a model.
"I suppose so..."
Celena replied, eyeing Silfie suspiciously. She couldn't shake the feeling that everything seemed clean, scratch that, this hut looked like it was abandoned years ago.
"How about this then, where are your weapons!?"
"We just summon them with magic" Silfie demonstrated her right hand glowing a bow appeared, then it vanished with a wave.
Celena was feeling stupid, of course, they use magic.
''No wonder you escaped into the human world''
''Never mind about my place, we gotta go now, a fairy is about to be born and you do not want to miss that'' Silfie exclaimed with delight, pulling Celena along to a plaza where all the fairies had gathered in a circle around a female fairy, looking up.
''shouldn't we give her privacy, don't tell me it doesn't exist here, and where's the father?'' Celena whispered to Silfie.
"Just observe, Celena. I'm sure you'll find it fascinating," Silfie replied.
' you want me to look at her pussy?' She was dubious, I mean who wouldn't if she were to give birth and everyone would watch? she was sure as hell it would be very uncomfortable.
As she gazed at the red moon, a miraculous event unfolded. The moon shimmered, and a tear coated in bright light descended. where the female fairy seized the newly born, gradually forming a winged human-like creature everyone rejoiced when the female showed them the newborn, and they sang a song only they could decipher, each fairy holding hands amongst each other and Celena was not exempted from it, she flinched when some random guy took a hold of her hand, they slowly marched towards the dancing female, arms up then went back to their place with their arms down this went on for some quite time until only the males remained in the circle, Silfie had to drag her away from it, during that time Celena was confused.
'what happened to the bee and the flower?'
'Daddy gives love to Mommy?'
Along those lines, she was very confused, supposedly a tear went down from the moon and then it turned into a fairy. it was ridiculous. Celena shook her head setting her gaze upon the males forming a circle, the female holding the infant traveled clockwise, appearing to be considering a potential husband. At least that's what it looked like, she chose someone and everyone clapped.
''what the hell did I just witness?'' she inquired Silfie.
''Us, fairies don't love Celena...we also don't have reproductive organs...thus we just wait until the red moon occurs, you got lucky girl''
''So baby comes first after the father? and all of the newborns are just hoping to be adopted?''
''Yes''
''What happens if no one adopts the baby?''
"Then it will grow up alone," Silfie replied.
Celena silently thanked the gods for being born human. However, her thoughts were abruptly shattered when a kid shouted that there was a human among them. It was the same kid she had bumped into earlier, pointing a finger at her. Instantly, the fairies armed themselves with weapons.
"Damn it!" Celena cursed, realizing she was in trouble.
